  Hi all
  
  I have a requirement in which user downloads a simple excel file with a few records (columns in excel in a predetermined format similar to a database table) and all those who have to be inserted into a table in a database.
  I went through a documentation on Oracle ADF DI and itseems to me that an excel file simple upload feature is not part of this. ADF DI basically has support for advanced features and includes have a plug-in for excel, set up excel workbook, etc..
  
  My req downloads a simple excel file.
  One solution I've found, is to use af:inputfile and read the excel in a java file (Backing Bean/Managed Bean - I always gets b & w confused these two :-)) using POI and manually update to DB using VO.)
  
  Is there a better solution for this.

  BTW, backing bean will generally have links to all the components on a page and Managed bean has links to the specific - this is a main difference between the two.

  When I put the currency symbol on an OBIEE answer and if I press "Download to Excel" on outcomes, the exported table is downloaded perfectly but if I try to perform and calculation on this ground I get an error message and I get out the currency sign for more of this. For example, if I try to make the sum of the column of numbers with the symbol € in excel, it will not work.
  
  Is there a way to get around this please? Sorry I could not find this application prebiously issue in OBIEE forum

  Hi hilary,

  I think I just need to put the symbol in the header and out lines resulting.

  You are going in the right direction, make sure that header if symbol end users would understand that it denotes this currency.

  Changing the order of column in the report has the same effect; i.e. He arranges, but return back to the original column order causes the error to display.

  I'm migrating obiee from one server to another server.

  version is obiee 11.1.1.7

  so far I've migrated user and then of RPD and Catalog Security.

  1. cannot connect to Analytics with weblogic user id

  2. impossible to RPD open online with weblogic user id mode.

  3 and get the following error when opening dashboard and reports.

  AMT: could not resolve the connect identifier specified in the call to the OIC OCIServerAttach. [nQSError: 17014] Cannot connect to the Oracle database. (HY000)

  So I have a question while I am troubleshooting these errors.

  Whenever I download to Excel it's cut leading zeros.
  I mean the location number shows in the report as 00012345 after that download in Excel, it displays only 12345.
  I think excel is think about this number of iis if it TR cut zeros.

• Fonts missing after migration to InDesign CS3

  After migration to InDesign CS to a new PC, a font is missing: Arial Narrow family. I've used this for large number of tables in a book, I need to find a method to retrieve this font. Arial Narrow police is listed in the installation of Windows fonts (Vista). The police is also listed in the font list of InDesigne CS3 on my old PC.

  Is there a way to fix this?

• Mail of the El Capitan grayed out after Migration Wizard menus

  The arrival of my new MacBook Pro (OS 10.11.5) I used the Migration Assistant (MA) to import the data from my old MacBook (OS 10.6). MY did not have identical usernames on both devices, so a new user has been created for the migration.

  After migration, everything seems to work very well in most mail (and some obsolete applications).

  Problem: some menu of messaging options are grayed out on and/or non-functional. Strange thing is that Mail works fine in the other user account, so I guess that's a conflict somewhere, sometimes, preferences will not open. New emails correctly, they appear in notifications and can be opened individually, but I can't open the message viewer.

  What I tried without success:

  -delete all e-mail accounts and add them manually

  -remove mail preferences

  -Remove user library: containers, mail, mail preferences folder

  -disable the user fonts

  -Disable items in user login

  Any suggestions much appreciated troubleshooting.
