Download Vista on a computer with an OEM license

Recently, I changed the OS of my computer from Windows Vista Home Basic Ubuntu which is part of Linux. I want to change it back but has no disk to reinstall since it is an OEM license. How would I go about re-download of Vista?

P.S. I have the product code and everything if that helps?

How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • Reinstallation of Windows 7 with OEM license with an OEM license and the manufacturer's warranty expired

My hard drive starts to die, if I want to backup all my data and be ready in case it fails. One of the things on my list of verification is to ensure that I can reinstall Windows 7 if need be.

I don't have in my possession a Windows reinstallation disk, so I want to create a USB bootable for windows 7. The link to the .isos DIgital River that I use to create my bootable USB key doesn't work for users with OEM licenses. Very annoying, but I can legally get a Dell reinstall drive instead. But Dell wouldn't send me reinstallation disks because my warranty with Dell expired.

The result of this is that if your a manufacturer guarantee expired, you can no longer reinstall windows on the same computer!

Dell says it is responsible for providing the relevant recovery media, including Windows used to do with the Digital River .isos, but who no longer work for people with Microsoft's Windows 7 OEM license. Microsoft says that it is the responsibility of Dell to provide its customers with the recovery media (disks to reinstall windows) in the first place. Personally, I'm not interested in the blame game - I just want to have access to a recovery media so I have the option of legally re - install windows 7 in the future with my OEM license.

Can you help me with this problem? Thank you.

Downloads Microsoft removing the Digital River and replacing them with a non-functional tool are extremely boring.

If you can still start, update Dell backup and restore to the latest version:

Make a USB (older than 2012 systems) recovery or recovery external hard drive (more recent than 2012 systems):

Boot from it to the new hard drive and use it to reinstall. Recovery media is using earlier versions may not work on the new disks.

  • I can't activate a VM XP, I have a VLK license but the machine has been built with an oem license.

I can not activate a virtual XP machine.  the virtual machine is a clone of a pc that has since been erased.  the original machine was probably activated with an OEM key.  I tried activating by phone and putting our license key of Volume without success.

I would be grateful for any suggestion.

    Thank you very much

    Heh!

The key to the report is an OEM_SLP key, rather than a Volume key-

The key of COA_SLP supplied with the original computer cannot be used to enable this virtual machine either, because he reuires to use on the original material.

You can not use a license upgrade for the virtual machine, because there is no base license - so you are limited by the terms of the Windows license using a retail for Pro license, and then upgrade which (if necessary).

The key here is most likely another valid - but installation is almost certainly classified as non-authentique, due to the presence of the multitude of the OEM.s in the BIOS - unless you use XP Mode in a Win7 machine

  • already installing windows vista on a computer with windows 7

I have windows 7 on my computer.  I have a scanner that is too old to run on windows 7.  Can I install vista in order to run the scanner? is there a better solution?

    Hello

You can dual boot, but have you tried to install the software of the scanner mode "compatibility"? Look for the Setup file for the scanner and right-click on it. In the drop-down menu, click Properties. In the Properties window, click the Compatibility tab. In the compatibility window place a checkmark (tick) in the box next to the box "run this program in compatibility mode for" and then click on the arrow to the right of the box just below this option to display the opertaing systems. The default is Windows XP SP3, but you can change it by clicking on the arrow down and selecting Vista operating system list. After doing this, click on the OK button and your scanning software should begin to install it in compatibility mode for Windows Vista.

This may solve your problem rather than having to create another partition, install Vista, and then dual-boot.

If you follow the 7 steps, you can download a trial through one of the links on this page using a browser that accepts cookies: http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html

and activate it with your serial number.

If you have a problem downloading, you don't follow all 7 steps.  as a general rule, do not carefully follow steps 1, 2 or 3 is the problem, but your browser must also allow cookies (a setting of restrictive browser) is another potential source of problems.

  • Download Package created on computer with an Admin account or "root".

    Hello

Earlier today a support rep instructed me to create an account admin or 'root' (as opposed to my usual personal account on my computer) in order to download package adobe creative cloud Manager. After hours of waiting, the download version is now complete bowered, now I get an error message when I try to install it on my HD

Any idea what the problem might be.

    I would like to

A.) install and deploy what I downloaded

    (B) be able to access it from my usual personal account on my computer

Please let me know if you have any tips!

    Hello

Can you confirm the operating system you are using and the error you receive? A screenshot would be useful.

Creative cloud packer is usually used by admins in an organization to create a package of Cloud applications creative for distribution throughout their organization.

If you just need to install creative cloud on your own personal computer applications there are easier options.

My three year, HP Pavilion m9047c PC is dead. $200 and a new mother Brd and it is alive but mute. It does not accept my recovery disks. The technology said that I should call MS. help, please

What 'tech' did the job?  In order to use the HP recovery disks, HP must have a HP motherboard.  If the installed 'tech' a card mother of Mark non-HP, then the HP recovery discs do not work.  Instead, you will need to purchase a new license of Windows.  You can consider installing Windows 7.  Example: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit - OEM. • Pre-installed Vista CD computer Dell laptop allows you to install Vista on another computer of dell desktop originally pre-installed with XP?

    Hello.

Have an old dell desktop with XP.
Have a new computer dell laptop with Vista.

    Both came pre-installed.
Both came with a CD to reinstall Windows.

Am I allowed to install Vista from that original CD on the desktop?
I did, then you have the problem (not genuine copy of Vista). I have since reinstalled Vista, but before I completely setting up the office, once again, I want to make sure that I am able to do this (do not want the new not genuine error).

    Specific questions:
    1. am I allowed to use portable CD to install Vista on another computer?
    2. If so, that must be done to ensure the "not genuine" error can't?

    Thanks for any help.
    Shawn

Reference Dell binds their records to their motherboards.

If your computer is pre-installed with Vista, it is classified as an OEM license and is not transferable.

The license of Vista OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

And a Vista license = a Vista Installation.

  • Virtual Pc requires a license on the desktop with OEM license?

Yes, you must purchase a separate license for the Virtual Machine. If you use Windows 7 Professional, you can download Windows XP Mode.

  • OEM license question

    Hello

I just upgraded my desktop computer: I have replace the card mother + CPU + RAM + GPU. I have install Windows7 OEM version in this new system.

I am about to sell my old equipment as a set card mother + RAM + CPU + GPU - basically an entire computer under drive hard-disk/optical/case/keyboard/mouse. Now, I had a version of Windows VISTA OEM specific to this system. Am I allowed to include in my sale, since it is the OEM version, attached to the original mother/CPU/GPU card?

A buyer might have trouble to install/activate this version because it will be on a new hard drive?

    Thanks for your help.

No, there no need to include the hard drive.  If it's even computer it can be re-installed on this computer (and ONLY this computer) if theonly change is a new player that you seem to be saying now hard (and you can probably also bring another device changes as well as long as it's the same computer).  It cannot be moved to another computer, regardless of how much of the old computer, move you with him - it must be the original, same computer only.  It is acceptable but not what I initially understood.

My problem is using the OEM Windows 7 disk on another machine, but now it seems that it is a new machine that came with this OEM license and re-installed on this same new machine.  It is also acceptable.

The issue in both cases change motherboard (and all that of other things).  It's the people of Activation or not they want to examine the same computer or not.  Since the automated process does not work, you will need to talk to them and explain the situation and hope that they decide to allow the activaion because rules when so many changes are done become a bit vague and open to interpretation.  I suggest that you select one that you want to sell before sale to ensure that it is permissible and we meet with a problem after the sale.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!
