Downtime planned at the end of the alert window

We just started to use the "Time out on demand" feature of EA HQ (4.1.2 build #1053) and while everything works as expected on the planning of the systems down (alerts and other are disabled), we have a bit of a problem at the end of the window.  It seems that if leave us the end of the calendar window or clear plan, all alerts on the fire of monitored servers.  It seems to take anywhere between 10 and 15 minutes for the mental health back and for systems to return all green.

We are scheduling maintenance is an application to all of our servers tomcat deployment in a cluster.  The alarm that fires comes from a status page of the private system, we check every five minutes in order to ensure the happiness of the app/VM.  We are in fact does not affect the hyperic agent, so it is not really a failure he or any change in itself.

When get out us the planned downtime, they all fire immediately their alerts, and some systems claim to take up to 15 minutes to get out of the alert, despite the agents themselves never be disconnected during shutdown.  Additional weirdness, when alerts are displayed in the center of the table edge and alert, they are an hour late system (unfortunately, I don't have a snapshot of the browser with the time system down and fresh alerts at the top, but it certainly happens).

Any thoughts on what could happen here and how we can avoid getting 20 pager alerts?

  • The line breaks in the alert window?

    Is this possible? InDesign seems to make the default line breaks, if long text is OK, but I can make the manual line breaks too?

    Yes you can. You just put in "\r" or "\n" to each line break.

  • HOWTO check if the alert is in place

    IM using setInterval to check data from amfphp.
    He checks the data correctly but is to get lots of alerts windows up so im not not by clicking Ok.

  • Layer mask groups converted from work plans to the size of the artboard in older versions of Photoshop

    I wanted to start this post as an idea, but I couldn't choose communities (it wouldn't let me), so here it is posted...

    Just came across this with a customer...

    I use for a mobile design project work plans, and I just got a screenshot with some texts asking why among work plans were really great. Way bigger than a phone. (I'm under NDA and cannot post the screenshot, but imagine there are a lot of iPhone size work plans and two of them seem to be at a right angle)

    I opened the file and on my end, everything is the right size. Remembering the weeks ago to tell the customer that they need to update their version of Photoshop for all this work correctly, I have take a look at the screenshot and see that they are on CC2014 - none of the work plans.

    What I'm asking here, is that, since we have data, plans of work are objects of a defined size and 'alive', why not just use these data to hide layer groups at the opening of the PSD / PSB (PSB in my case) in older versions of Photoshop?

    High level to your query response is: no, there is no conduct business case for a general solution to what you are suggesting. So I don't see what is happening.

    I say that as someone who likes to give back and forth and backward compatibility.

    There are two parts of the problem that you raise. They are related and somewhat intertwined.

    1. Having the version previous (2014) do something reasonable with the data from the version the most recent (2015). Either the old version should be taught on the most recent data so it can make a decision about what to do, or the newer version must put additional data in the file format for consumption by the older version.
    2. Back and forth between versions. As you say, a much more difficult problem. In fact, we do a good job of that today. But we must be sure that whatever we do for (1) not to damage and back the wrong way.

    Let's be very clear: 2014 will not be touched, except for critical bugs, absolutely. And even before 2015 is released, it would have not been corrected to make it behave better with work plans. There is no way that I could see what is happening. So all we have done for better backward compatibility had to be entirely done within 2015.

    For the round trip, the general problem is something like this: we want to 2014 to read an object that has properties of 2015, he does not understand. While we might learn ch to keep these properties as opaque property, must also have rules for when these properties are not valid and thrown on the floor. Probably, if the object is changed. But not always. And sometimes when another object parent is changed. And so on. Right now, we destroy them unknown content from their reading in the old version. You can safely change the groups to your heart's content. When return you this document in 2015, you redo the work plans of the groups. Was not clear and safe way to do more than that given the time that we had.

    Take a step back and think about your problem, it doesn't seem to be a value to a script that converts group work plans + layer masks for your workflow to have your documents that is consumed by the customers of 2014. This would be carried out in 2015 because she would need understand the work plans. And maybe vice versa from 2014 to 2015, assuming that the documents were not published in a hostile way. We're not likely to write such a script as a generic tool, but someone competent with script might be able to do this.

    Right-click on the icon in the Finder and select the 'Go - To' folder option.

    So, as you can see, rank 8, I have a TABLE ACCESS BY GLOBAL INDEX ROWID. But what I am failling to see is how Oracle display an ACCESS BY GLOBAL INDEX ROWID TABLE without using any index. As the thought that Oracle has always been a ROWID due to an index.

    I also have an index on the DVC_EVT_TYPE_CD column in my table (line 8 of the predicate information section)

    And finally, what would be your suggestions to improve the performance of this query...

    If I read content (RowSource) statistical information and plan properly, then access the table in step 4 on D1_DVC_EVT_REL_OBJ needs dry 4.37 and accesses 820 buffers. If you had an index D1_DVC_EVT_REL_OBJ (MAINT_OBJ_CD, PK_VALUE1, DVC_EVT_ID) I guess this table access could be avoided. To avoid the access of the table on D1_DVC_EVT an index on D1_DVC_EVT (DVC_EVT_ID, DVC_EVT_TYPE_CD, DVC_EVT_DTTM) should be sufficient.

    I think that these indices would improve the performance of the query, but of course, they would have a negative impact on the performance of DML on the table and they could influence other queries on the table.

    Hi N Singh,

    The orchestration is the final plan of the order and cannot be changed directly. It can only be changed during a review/changes. So the user has to get all kinds of information required to generate the precise orchestration plan. So shipping process is automatically triggered once completed the process of InitiateBilling.

    Then, your problem may be treated with a work around. As you say based on data received during the process of InitiateBilling you can decide if to goto process delivery or not.

    The design studio, Open Process (workflow) of expedition then set up a rule. If the rule evaluates to true, you can go to the 'End' activity if delivery of the workflow will continue as usual, if the rule gets matched to false.

  • Remove the alert logs and trace files

    I noticed that in all the databases oracle, the trace files are pious and alert log is more and more like what...

    Thought of making a copy of the trace of the files somewhere and remove hard drive other than the most recent.

    For the alerts log, thought to make a copy and rename the current file as well as Oracle can create a new.

    Advice if there are better approaches in the treatment of this?

    Well, I can tell it's not a question of ORACLE, you can get many things by Googling. ;-)
    ZIP or whatever it is you need to automate scripts by creating a * .bat files. you have some third-party tools where you can plan all those.

    I agree that this can be a little confusing, but once you understand the difference between messages and alerts it will make sense.

    In Oracle Forms, a 'Message' is any information that is displayed in the 'Message' of the forms Console line and requires no interaction with a user. The console is displayed at the bottom of the window and includes the 'Message line' and 'Statue line. If the message line already has a message, and then forms will promote the message in an alert (popup window) and the nouveau/deuxieme message is displayed in the message line. In general, many forms developers will use this "Double-Message" method to display information in an alert because it is less lines of code to assign the text of the message in an alert and then display the alert. It is advisable to always call the built-in function Clear_Message() before calling Message built-in to prevent unintential * promotion message.

    An alert in a physical object in a form of Oracle (note: there is a 'Alerts' node in the browser of object of forms). There are three types of alerts of forms: Note, attention and stop. Display the notes information, precautions display warnings and errors off display program, or critical information. In order to display an alert, you must first create an alert object in the Alerts node. You can create an Alert object for each of your posts, but this creates clutter and can be confusing. I prefer to use three alerts - one for each type (Note, attention, Stop) and then programmatically set the title, the text of the message and the buttons (max 3). As you can see, there is more work involved to display an alert. In addition, the integrated Display_Alert() is a function if you need a variable to receive the value returned by the call to Display_Alert.

  • Check the alerts log without loggin in the server?

    Hi all

    Is there a way I can watch the last 30 to 50 lines in the alerts log without going through vi or any editor on unix system? I'm on 10203 (hp - ux). and I dba grant to me. But do have access to the Oracle login server to view the alert log... so I was wondering if there are procedures that are very practical or even watch the alert without loggin to the unix system log?

We are on 10.2.0.3 on hp - UX. We can look at the operating system to find this out, but as mentioned our sysadmin came out and do not have access to the root...

    PLS, try this. I had to check the same thing on one of our boxes of customer not having access unix and I've used the below to find. It worked for me.
    (version 10.2.0.4)

    SELECT SCN_TO_TIMESTAMP (TIMESTAMP_TO_SCN (startup_time)) 'DB downtime', startup_time "DB-startup time" OF v$ instance
