• Troubleshooting connection issues DPS - sign failed.  Please try again.

  All of our users have problems connecting to the Digital Publishing Suite through the Folio Builder in InDesign.  Whenever we try to connect, we get a "connection failed.  Please try again. "error.  I'm almost certain, it's something in our network, which is the origin of the problem, but I would like to see if I can refine it so I can direct our security guy by making an exception.  I think that the DPS use only port 443 for communication so I'll make sure it's open, but are there other potential areas where I can do some research?

  Looks like it is a problem of proxy and not a firewall issue.  Clear the proxy settings in Internet Explorer seems to do the trick.  It is a work decent around until we find how to configure our server proxy allowing these exceptions.

• Pricing issues and General DPS

  Hi all

  The company that I work out a professional license to Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, a few years ago and we are still paying the monthly subscription.

  We have never actually published folios that applications Apple or Android, instead, most of our folios is just shared with our customers through the Adobe Content Viewer.

  Is it necessary for us to pay for a professional for this license? His I understand the tax pro subs is to pay for packages of accomplishment for Adobe downloads.

  We have also a few accounts team cc to Adobe, which also allow us to download on the folios of dashboard and share DPS through the content viewer.
  so I think that he shouldn't pay for a professional account, if we share only folios via the Adobe Content Viewer application.

  This may seem basic stuff, but its pretty hard to find info on the DPS on the Adobe site. Also the person who set up the initial pro account is no longer with our company.

  You should be aware that there is no assurance that folio workflows will be again supported with AEM Mobile replacing DPS a lot more long in any case.

• Is there a place I can go to to search for known issues with the applications made with DPS and the iPhone 6?

  I was wondering if there is a post or a site that lists known issues with products and applications on the iPhone 6.

  There was an application made, and for 3 devices that they all have the same problem where sometimes the app is fully loaded on the iphone 6.

  We tried to republish the content. Discovered that the problem is more than likely a connection slow or weak. I meant also more info on if there is a list of some sort with the known problems with some devices. Thank you much.

• DPS PRO monthly edition issues

  Hello

  I have a client who needs to get a digital publication on the store of apple, android, and windows.

  DPS Pro and its characteristics would be perfect. The annual cost is too expensive for the customer because there is only a single sheet.

  So I have a few questions related to the monthly subscription:

  1 can I buy for just a month, and the month download the folio?

  2. the application will remain on stores after the month is up?

  3. don't Analytics register only during the month of the subscription?

  4. If we wanted to add another folio this year could us buys another monthly subscription to the stores?

  5. when it is subjected to the stores is it possible of lets say to the apple store to make it appear like a native app rather appear in kiosks?

  I am aware it would also buy folio fresh bundles of download.

  1/2/3/4: the application will remain in the store, as long that leave you there, but you must maintain an active subscription DPS Pro for downloads to work. If you end your subscription immediately after downloading a folio your readers will not be able to download the leaflet inside the app.

  5. Yes, you can choose if it is on newsstands or just a regular application.

• Applications of single-issue DPS with iOS8 - any problems?

  My application iPad (published) seems to have problems with iOS8. I just upgraded to os iOS8 GM and my application has serious questions, quickly crashing after moving between articles. I saw the notice on several issues apps, but this is an application only one question. There is HTML in the app, built in tumult Hype, but also scrolling images, videos and ads the zoomable maps, but I think that HTML ads are causing problems. If anyone is curious to try it, here's the app (free):

  I'll update the Viewer to the latest version of tomorrow to try to solve this problem, but until I do, are there known issues with Web content view? Most of the accidents seems to be after an ad trying to animate, which seems to point to a leak memory in reading HTML engine - but it could be another issue. Has anyone else had problems with their applications in one question?

  Regret not having seen this 3 weeks, but the re-export with the latest version of the viewer has worked for me.

• Download issues with Android App DPS

  Hi all

  I was wondering if any of you try to download a folio of the dps android app and cannot change the navigation pages. The folio is the download but looks like it hangs until the folio download is completed.

  In iOS, you can download a folio and click on another page in navigation.

  Is there a fix for adobe or I do something wrong?

  You must use the legacy Android app that does not support progressive download. You should try using our new Android native application, this fact.

• Issue of DPS simple edition

  Hi all

  Maybe it's a stupid question so apologies.  I have looked around, but couldn't find a specific answer.

  I'll buy the full CC and I am interested in the DPS integraiton with inDesign.  I currently produce monthly magazines for my employer but will soon go freelance.  I would like to offer the option to produce the versions of ipad magazines as well as the printed versions.  I would be able to do with the unique 'Edition' version of DPS?  I see that it says you can create an unlimited number of single editions, but I don't know I know what it means.  This means that you can only produce unique editions of a publication?

  To be clear, I would offer a monthly print and magazine ipad that would be a completely new edition each month.  Before I have to buy the CC but I need to know if this would be possible.

  Hope that makes sense, any help is appreciated.

• ISSUE DPS AND INDESIGN

  I design with Indesign CS6 AND WITH FOLIO FOR BEING LUS on IPAD WITH ADOBE CONTENT VIEWER, WHEN I need digital edition into that. Do I need to buy separate DPS

  LCA is Adobe Content Viewer. You can use it to display a preview of the folios, that you have created in InDesign, and you can share this folio with others. But if you want to create a custom application, you must pay. For example, with a full subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud, you can create an unlimited number of simple editing applications. Single edition include only a folio and they work on the iPad. To create other types of applications that run on different platforms, you subscription DPS Pro or business.

• Can I publish the first issue of a magazine using simple editing DPS?

  My client publishes a quarterly magazine of the industry. I recently sold them on the idea of a digital subscription using DPS Pro version. They are eager to launch the first one before Christmas, but the $600 p/m price tag is a small deterrent. So I have proposed the creation of the first edition with simple editing DPS (intending to migrate in the newsstand with future editions of next year). Have I reason to take this path? Apple will not accept a mag style app outside booth? I read Bob Levine's recent article on how to improve your chances of being accepted that I'll go with, but we need to avoid using the word store in masthead for this first? So many questions. Your input would be much appreciated. Thank you.

  You can try, but the review process for a simple editing application is much more

  rigorous in the measure of the content to a folio multi application.

  Conversion of a multi folio kiosk application... would probably be easier to

  accomplish simply by creating a new application.

  I am the author of a book on the AppStore, but I had to hire a design company to build the application. This DPS allows me to turn my ideas and designs in an application?

  DPS is not really for books and Apple will reject the app if your application simply texts and images. But having seen personally a lot become an interactive applications books, with many interactive in the app as features, slideshows, panos 360, videos, audio, html, hyperlinks, scrolling images, image sequence etc.. If you can generate these Interactivities (who does DPS) in your application, then DPS can be your solution too.

  * Tip: The idea on an application is for the user to be able to interact and play with the application. So when designing your content, more than one application interface design user should help.

• Issue DPS Professional pricing

  The Professional suite of DPS is a price American on page of Adobe with a $495 /month.

  On the German page, it is €436,65, say nothing "per month." I very deeply, very much hope the $495 / month is just a mistake, because it would be $5 940 per year (!) for a tool that does not ncecessarily brings money to a company.

  vs.

  Interesting. So a company wishing to use Indesign to publish folios via an application needs to invest > $ 500 per month just to be able to use the software and in case they don't sell anything, not will not make a cent from it? Isn't it ridiculous?

  That would make it the costliest DPS software adobe ever created.

  I guess, other companies can use different ways to create and to publish their free applications and information in catalogues or similar form.

• Issue of DPS for the owners of Master's Collection

  I own the Master Collection and am not subscribe the creative cloud at the moment.

  My school has a much easier time financially in one-time costs (licenses) rather than the (continued) subscription monthly models.

  For this reason, I am interested in DPS however not in the creative cloud.

  I had a bear of a time to discover all information about non - Creative Cloud DPS pricing.

  I feel a real push from Adobe for the creative cloud when it comes to DPS.

  I am interested based on WHAT DPS classroom with about 40 computers, all under license at the Web and Design Premium.

  If possible, I would be grateful for the pricing for Professional licenses and Enterprise for DPS.

  In addition, if someone could explain the differences, as well as fees for downloading applications for review and distribution by Apple, it would be wonderful.

  First let me be clear... I do not work for Adobe, but I'll try to help the

  better than I can.

  I will immediately say the bat, I think you did a full purchase error

  licenses instead of creative cloud. Rates education on CC is only

  $19.99 / month and includes unlimited DPS simple editing apps.

  Of the road, you have everything you need already up til the

  publishing point.

  1. for simple editing, you will need to purchase a serial number for each application

  you intend to submit to Apple. I don't think that there is academic prices

  on this and it is $ 395 each.

  2. single Edition requires no additional cost to Adobe, but you will need

  Apple Developer account ($ 99 / year)

  3. There is absolutely no assurance that Apple approves your app.

  As a clarification, simple editing is one totally independent

  approx. Multi folio apps that may contain more than one question, it will take

  at least a professional account. My usual analogy is to think of a

  simple editing as a hardcover book and multi app like a ring of three folio

  binder that begins when empty and can then be filled with content.

  Finally, internal exams or tests can be made using Adobe

  Content Viewer for no cost at all.

• Animation of the Adobe & DPS application issues

  Recently, I downloaded the Adobe & DPS application on the app store.  It is mainly a showcase and an informative publication about how the Magazine industry has embraced and incorporated DPS in their creative process.

  I like the effect of the background of the image sharing two screens, so when the user goes to the next page, the central image continuously and moves left.  I managed to reproduce this effect.  My question is however on the animation.

  In the interest of those who have the ipad app, I refer to Page 19 of the production, in front, page directed 18 as Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, for those who do not have the advantage, mainly the central image of 'focus' scrolls to the left like the user enters the page.  There is a delay and then 3 bars of color, red, yellow and blue fly from the background of the central image to the right of the screen.  Text is missing in a downward movement.  Another shot at the next page maintains the continuity of the design of the arrows and melted bars in addition to text after a slight delay.

  I am interested in the technical aspects of this effect.

  In the workflow of InDesign, I'm uncomfortable with the scrolling of the image back picture, but what I can't understand is the following...

  1) are the screen filled in Adobe After effects or Adobe Photoshop animation then exported in the form of sequences of images or videos to load page?  No doubt there is an image of the poster, a delay that triggers the auto start animation then ending on an image rendered ending sequence.

  2) are compliant screens in InDesign, but the images of movement occurs in Adobe Edge to keep the size of the small file (transparent overlays like HTML5).  If so how do write you movie elements to match the background of the image?  Is superimposed on the bottom or each section independently positioned 2048 step?

  I can't post a screenshot, as I don't want to violate copyright, my initial view is that option 1 is easier since the design is contained in this application, but larger files. Option 2 is interesting, smaller file size, lighter app, but I'm not clear integration between ID and edge as the practice of positioning and visualization, because both apps do not visually bind each other.

  I would be grateful on the reflections on the best approaches for this purpose.
