DR. in the Cluster environment.

Hi gurus,

I'm trying to deploy the RPD in the cluster environment.

What I need to copy RPD improved in all three files. 1 (common shared folder) folder folder 2 (SPR location on computer 1) and the location of the RPD file 3 on machine 3. How to do it.

(2) after the deployment when I check-out and make some changes to the RPD. and come back. It only writes the changes to the shared folder (folder 2 (or)) file 3 (or) all of the above. Please let me know how this stuff of woks.

Thank you
DAMIEN

If you use 11g, then simply copy the RPD in a shared folder and in EM just provide the path for the same thing. So when you restart services OBIEE it will automatically copies of folders on the local computer (/ repository) and even the changes online gets reflected in the same way.

If you are using 10 g, then you just need to copy RPD on both local machines and if you do any Exchange online will be reflected to the master server and files copied to the folder, so you must restart the server secondary inorder to reflect changes to the RPD to server 2ndary online using shared folder

It may be useful

  • cryptsetup, LUKS on cluster environment

    Hello

I would ask you if LUKS is possible to use on the cluster environment.

I have two nodes. From each node, I see the shared disk array disk partition. I want to know if it is possible to use LUKS for this shared partition. I guess I can configure a node LUKS, but I don't know what needs to be done on the second node. For example the password for LUKS for the shared partition boot process, system when I restart the first password node start with encrypted partition. But what happens when I try to reboot the second node.

I want to install Oracle ACFS (ASM Cluster Filesystem) on the encrypted partition.

    Thanks for the reply.

Encrypting volumes of ASM is any good?

  • What factor or things should be consider in Composite SOA design for Cluster environment

    Hello

I have to develop SOA Composite that must be deployed in the Cluster environment, but I don't know what are the important things, should be considered before and during the creation of composite SOA SOA suite. For example a specific model design property or some plan JCA ports or confg properties or or etc...

Do I have to look at (take care) if I'm the composite design of soa in a cluster environment.

    Thank you

All the work is already done for you by Oracle.

The only rule you need to follow is a common one for clusters: do not keep the (local) State. If you need save some State uses a shared storage (database, distributed cache, distributed file system distributed HTTP session - when it is configured as).

  • How to deploy the ear in the weblogic 8.1 cluster environment

    Hi all

I have a server in cluster of weblogic8.1, which has two managed servers and a server administrator. Server Admin does not part of the cluster. To deploy the ear only in the cluster or the administration server and to combine the two?

If the cluster and admin both, we must select the target first admin, then the two admin and cluster.
or the admin and cluster at once.

    I thank in advance.

    Kind regards
    SAI

Just one last point. For WLP 9.x and 10.x, this is NOT necessary. 9.x and 10.x, to be the opposite. Do NOT target no matter what Server Admin apps portals but only targets to the Cluster. Because that by default for 9.x and 10.x, when you create a cluster, all shared modules are targeted only to the cluster. Therefore, we target portals apps also only for the cluster. JUST in case for some reason you wish to target portal app server also Admin, FIRST you must target all modules common to the administrator of the server, and then deploy your Portal Server admin application also. Remember that it is only for 9.x and 10.x. So incase if you have plans to improve in the future to 9.x or 10.x, please add this note somewhere in your design document or spec.

For 8.1 SPxx, as mentioned earlier, please target both Admin and complete Cluster.

  • update of the components of the cluster transit

Today, I wrote a recursive VI (my first!) which updates the items between groups where clusters named elements in common.

Background: I have a test architecture I am developing where each step-test configuration, a cluster is stored in a file. If the cluster configuration changes for a test, I would like to be able to load the old values of configuration for the new test. Usually this group will be the same, but it can have new items or items that have been deleted.

The VI is based on certain functions varying OpenG. The challenge here was to deal with nested groups, and it has been managed by recursion. The VI has shared value clone reentrancy and data of cluster in the main cluster types are managed in a call environment in VI. It's an elegant solution!

I'd like some comments on this code: are there ways it could be improved? The corner cases, I have not covered?

I've updated my code, which is now robust to missing cluster - group.

  • Add the second environment

I use a free version and seems good. I added the second environment PHEVS in parameters. It is said collection... then OK. but the global environment summary shows only one (former) environment. Other I can see my newly added host/cluster/vms for ex in vScope Explorer. Only the overall summary does not list. What did I miss?

    Thank you

    Paragraphs.

Try the journal and log in again to see if that helps. Also Explorer environment doesn´t update as often as other utilities.

  • Question to the Cluster of conductor

    Hi all

    Just need some ideas:

We have a Cluster of conductor, some behind MCU and TMS. Booking is running on MSDS / conductor. All have SW-latest Versions.
TMS can handle only a single conductor of the Cluster. Okay, all right.
But what happened if this driver is down with scheduled conferences? Is it possible to send the reservation as soon as possible to the cluster of conductor a store there? Solutions or workarounds?

    Thank you very much!

Sent by Cisco Support technique iPad App

    Hi Dirk,

    Welcome to Cisco Support Community!

As you said correctly, when you have a cluster of conductor, TMS is not able to recognize all members of the cluster, as well as a conductor (usually the main one) will be managed and demand by TMS. If the driver fails, when a scheduled conference reached the moment to start, TMS will be able to push the Conference to the driver, so that the conference will fail.

Unfortunately, right now, you don't have any what automatic method to push the Conference to an another counterpart of conductor in the cluster, however, as a workaround, you can manually push the Conference to another position of conductor in this method:

    • Raise your driver cluster normally according to the Cisco documentation
    • Add only the counterpart of principal conductor to TMS
    • Configure TMS to follow the system using the IP address instead of the MAC address. You can find this configuration in "system > Navigator ', tab 'connection '.
    • Configure your TMS or any server monitoring for you advice (by e-mail or by using any other method) when the conductor comes down
    • When you are told that the conductor is down, go to TMS in ' system > Navigator ', select the conductor, go to the "Connection" tab and change the IP address of you're the conductor, put the IP of another position of conductor in the cluster. So TMS will push the forthcoming conferences of the annex to this peer of conductor
    • When the principal driver is back, go to TMS and set the IP address of the back of a main conductor. So the next regular conferences will be pushed to the main driver.

It is important to point out that, obviously, if one starts regular Conference right in time when the driver is down, before you change the IP in TMS, then this conference will fail. You will probably have to reschedule the Conference manually.

Although this good method works very well for our customer, it is important to inform you that it is not an official Cisco solution (as I know). So I personally suggest you to test and certify yourself before appling to your environment. Personally, I don't like to suggest informal recommendations of Cisco, but I think it's something interesting to consider.

Sorry for the delay in answering your question.  =)

    I hope this helps.

  • Error starting the cluster server UCM

    Hello

I've got AAU installed 11.1.1.8.0 that runs on a single instance of WebLogic Server named "UCM_Server1".

My requirement was to create a cluster, so I cloned the instance above and named 'UCM_Server2' and adds both the server instance managed by a Cluster ("Cluster_1").

I target all deployments of the AAU to this cluster.

The problem is when I type the url UCM_Sevrer1 it works very well. But, when I hit UCM_Server2 url it displays "Page not found" error

Deployments are in the active state, but during the restart of the UCM_Server2 it shows error below:

I am confirmed that we cannot have mutiple intradoc port in a config.cfg

For this we would need more of a domain.

  • remove the Cluster data store data store

I have an infrastructure with vCenter and ESXi 4 5.5 I have a data cluster store in SAN with 8 Mon, I need to remove 3 Lun (to be used for other purposes) what is the appropriate procedure

to remove the Lun (end then to destroy)? Thank you

Do you want the LUN to use for purpose of non-vSphere? If so, you can just storage vMotion virtual machines since associated LUN data warehouses that you want to decommission (or simply putting the data store in maintenance mode, in this way, that the virtual machines will automatically be migrated). Cleaning after the data store, move the data store from the cluster data store, and then delete the VMware environment data store as described here: best practices: how to properly remove a unit number logic of a host ESX - VMware vSphere Blog - VMware Blogs

  • Looking for a Script that contains information of BONES in each pool resources in a cluster environment

I am you are looking to modify a script that also contains information of BONES in each pool resources in a multi below cluster environment. Type of operating system, details as much as possible on each VDC OS information in an environment of Cloud Computing of v. I want to understand the news of the BONE in the script below. What kind of changes I need to do in the script below. Help, please. Thanks in advance.

    foreach ($vm in (Get-VM-location the $rp)) {}

    $report += get-disk hard - VM $vm |

    Select @{N = "Cluster"; E = {$cluster. Name}},

    @{N = "ResourcePool"; E = {$rp. Name}},

    @{N = "VM"; E = {$vm. Name}},

    @{N = "Datastore"; E={($_. Filename.Split(']') [0]). TrimStart('[')}},

    @{N = "CapacityGB"; E={$_. CapacityGB}}

    }

    $report | Export Csv C:\temp\report.csv - NoTypeInformation - UseCulture

You're missing ExtensionData starting from the operating system objects, i.e.

    @{N = ' configured OS"; E = {$vm. } ExtensionData. Config.GuestFullName}},

    @{N = 'Running OS'; E = {$vm. } ExtensionData. Guest.GuestFullName}}

I think that what you mean by "auto-fill" is that the application that you use to open the csv file, for example MS Excel does not automatically the full content of each field that the column widths are too narrow. A csv file is a text file with each value separated by a comma, try opening the file in a text editor such as Notepad to see.

  • How can I install Apps BI 11.1.1.7.1 in a cluster environment

    Hello community,

I work with a client with a cluster of OBIEE 11.1.1.7.1 with 2 nodes. Our client wishes to install OBI APPS 11.1.1.7.1 on it. (I already installed OBI APPs on a single node without problem)

My Question is simple: can I install OBIAPPS in a cluster environment? If Yes, when set up, should I run "configApps.sh" on each node, or just on the first node? I ask this because I know that the configuration edit the field, but also the coreapplication (presentation server).

    Thank you

    I finally found the solution:

1 / we can run configApps.sh several times.

2 / this is the doc to set up BIApps in a cluster environment "Configuring High Availability for Oracle Business Intelligence Applications Version 11.1.1.7.1 (Doc ID 1587873.1).

  • FQDNs for ESX environment when DNS servers are VMS within the ESX environment

    Hello

    I was wondering,

When the implementation of a new infrastructure from scratch, with an ESX cluster from scratch

and when the servers DNS themselves will run inside the cluster,

Then, it is advisable to use IP addresses instead of the domain name COMPLETE for the right ESX environment?

Here's what I've done so far:

    -installed 1 ESX host

    -installed donain controller as VM

    -installed PSC and VCSA

    -created the new cluster

-installed the second ESX host, added to the cluster.

I installed a VM DC as the first thing after the installation of the initial ESX host, I could have started using the domain name COMPLETE for the ESX environment at this time.

    However, I didn't do it.

For installation of the VCSA and when you add ESX hosts to the cluster, I used IP addresses instead of the FQDN names.

It seems stupid and dangerous for me to use domain COMPLETE the ESX hosts themselves, because the domain controller is running in the cluster.

So I used IP addresses only to ensure the ESX HA cluster and the characteristics of heartbeat stay ok if something were to happen to the DNS server.

However, the VCSA installation and when you add hosts to the cluster,.

the MISTLETOE gave me a warning, indicating that it is preferable to provide a FULL domain instead of an IP address name.

I am of the opinion that if you have no physical DNS servers, it is not a good idea.

My opinion is that when your nameservers inside the ESX cluster itself and you do not have 2 redundant external DNS servers, so it is not wise to use the FQDN for your ESX hosts, PSC and VCSA setup.

In my view, using the property intellectual property is much safer in this case.

I was wondering what is your angle on it.

Do you see the same way, or have different opinions?

    Hi smetter,.

It is advisable to have a working DNS for vSphere environment however the use of DNS for things like vSphere HA have been removed in more recent versions of the product. Refer to the section of the guidelines of the general network of this document for more details: https://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/techpaper/vmw-vsphere-high-availability.pdf

With this in mind I wouldn't be worried about use of FULL domain for the addition of services like the ESX host, etc.. Failure where HA would be restarting the virtual computer, there is no dependency on DNS so it will continue to work as expected and, subject to the availability of resources the virtual machine starts on another host.

According to your vSphere licenses, you may also like to consider the implementation of anti-affinity DRS VM to keep your DNS Appart servers and on different hosts. This can prevent your servers DNS are declining when the failure of a host. You must have Enterprise edition or later for this.

    Kind regards.

  • Mapping of LUNS ESX - id scsi is not consistent across the cluster - problem or not?

    Hello

as a parenthesis in an associated storage workshop, the instructor said that on some site of the client, there was silence damaged metadata vmfs happening and the reason for it was locking issues that concerned the fact that the SAN LUNS Hat different scsi id on different Cluster nodes.

I asked for references for this, but I got information on the verification of metadata etc.

now, the reason why I'm asking here is, I found that some in our environment vmfs data warehouses do not have compatible scsi-id numbering on the Cluster. I thought it was just mostly a cosmetic problem...

    Two questions:

1 are warehouses of VMFS data really at risk with this? Any reference to a KB or some experience on site? We have never had a problem with the warehouses of data so far.

    2. about the setting of this (we do it anyway), which is the recommended best practices to do?  Shouldn't a data store with a different ID Scsi remapping result in the data store that is detected as a snapshot?  Think we need to do some additional precautionary measures to avoid what is happening

    Thank you!

Take a look at this article for possible problems: VMware KB: can not see some or all VMware vCenter Server or VirtualCenter storage devices

A requirement is to have uniform or a coherent presentation of the LUNS across managed VMware ESX servers. More specifically, must match the LUN ID for each respective LUN between all of the VMware ESX servers.

  • Issue of SDRS to vCloud Director after you add the new data store to the Cluster of DTS

    Hi people,

We use vCloud Director 5.5 in a vSphere full 5.5 environment.

We have several DTS Cluster in vSphere and connected to vCloud Director.

    Following problem.

When I add a data store to a Cluster of DTS and connect this to the corresponding storage profile data store, the storage profile is not available to vCloud Director more.

After removing the new store data in the cluster of DTS, the profile becomes available again.

    Any ideas?

    Concerning

    Jean

How did you the storage profile associated with the data store?  via c# client or vSphere web client?

If you did the wrong way (c#) there no storage class label appropriate against it.

A data cluster store has the storage class who would have all preparations of data contained inside.

I think that you should check the service class is associated properly in vSphere web client (before adding to the DS Cluster).  Once it displays correctly, and then add the data store to the cluster.

  • Rename the cluster

    Hello

I'm running with vCenter 5.0 and ESXi 5.0 Hosts. Now I want to change my name (rename) from one of the cluster. I want to do right click change cluster settings and change name.will of cluster hosts of this effect on this cluster or computer running virtual hosts on that?

Basically I agree with vmroyale on a regular vSphere environment. However, if you use third-party tools (for example backup) or other applications/features of VMware (VMware View for example) you must be careful and other measures may be required.
