Drive DVD M305D-S4830 satellite disappears

I just bought M305D-S4830 during the visit to the United States, 3 days ago, but for some reason, the DVD drive disappears. No error message does not appear, according to the system event viewer is "disconnected".

The drive light flashes, but it cannot be ejected\opened.

Usually, he returned after a reboot, but will disappear after a few moments.

Any ideas?

Did you install some virtual odd emulation program or the CD/DVD creation tool? Read there might be some conflicts between some of them, then try to uninstall them.

Another thing you could try is this:

Open the Device Manager in control panel - system and remove the drive from the list of devices CD/DVD.

Then start the registry (run open as-> regedit) and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    Hi Val,

The correct driver for your laptop running Wnidows 2000 should be version 3.0.8.0 and is available for download from the Web from Toshiba website.

I presume that it is the one that you tried, so I don't know what you mean when you say that "it doesn't."

    Hello

    > The DVD for Vista 64-bit driver is available. But I do not know if it is good to use on XP (32).
Sorry, but I didn t find the CD/DVD drivers. or for Vista 64-bit, 32-bit or XP.
Could you please tell me this driver?
Perhaps you are which means the DVD player?

Anyway, the fact is that there are drivers for CD/DVD don t players. Microsoft operating systems (Vista, XP) are already equipped with these drivers and generally you n t need to install third-party drivers 3rd! The STRANGE should be recognized automatically by one of the OS.

PS: To my knowledge, this is a user forum and I don t think you can find someone from Toshiba here anyway, the XP is certainly supported by Toshiba because the XP drivers are available on the page of the driver. So I see no serious reasons why XP should t be supported. You know

  • Driver DVD-RAM on Satellite A110-149 problem

I recently received my copy of Express Upgrade to Windows Vista and I installed it as described in the user guide.

The first time Windows Vista ran normally and I had no problem with my DVD-RAM. But then, after having upgraded from windows it asked me to reboot. When I rebooted my computer Windows Vista does not recognize the DVD-RAM driver.

I searched the Web from Toshiba site, this driver but I couldn't find it. I just find drivers Windows XP, which could not be installed.

Do you have anyone had the same problem, or knows where I can get this driver?

    My laptop is a Satellite A110 - 149 (PSAB6E) and the DVD-RAM is a CARPET * a DVD-RAM UJ - 841S

    Hello

usually, a DVD-RAM needs no driver, it must be recognized automatically. Have you ever tried to remove the drive in system properties and restart the system?

Windows should install correctly after that. If this isn't the case, please make a comment.

    Welcome them

Greetings to all and waiting for your help!

    Hello

It seems that you bought the disc is not compatible!
It is not recommended to connect any pin on the new drive code!
I would like to invite your dealer where you bought the player and ask a new compatible.
The fact is that if you destroy the drive, you lose the drive, warranty and money!

  • Drive DVD Toshiba on Satellite U300 does not

I have a new Sat U300 and the Toshiba DVD player refuses to work, the message is that a module is missing.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

WHERE´s the problem. Uninstall the current version installed, and then reinstall the Toshiba HD-DVD player. It would be best if you look at the [Download Driver Toshiba Site | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp] updates to this program.

If this is not enough, all your backup files and perform a full system recovery, which should really help.

Otherwise, give a few comments here.

  • Satellite M305D-S4830 - the open fail - webcam & microphone Webcam driver does not work

    I have a Satellite M305d-s4830.
My PC operating system is Vista 64 bit.

Cam and mic worked very well until one day the software assistant camera began to show a messagebox saying that: "Webcam driver open fail. Please restart the computer or the camera. »

Since then, I tried everything that comes to my mind, but I think that the cam or the microphone appear in Device Manager. I also have the for Toshiba recovery disc.

What am I supposed to do?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

    > Since then, I tried everything that comes to my mind, but I think that the cam or the microphone appear in Device Manager
Hmm, do you mean that the cam is not listed in Device Manager
Or an unknown device, or near a yellow exclamation?

Sounds like delivers material but try to recover the laptop using the recovery disk.
If this will not help, it means that there must be something wrong with the cam

I read on the net that some people have a similar problem.
The webcam worked when opened the lid of the laptop only to halfway.
But webcam disappeared when the lid has been moved upwards.
Maybe there is a loose contact between the cable and the cam
In this case the ASP technician must check the laptop.

  • Re: Satellite M305D-S4830 Volume dial strange behavior

Hello, I have a strange problem with my volume on the Satellite M305D-S4830 control button. I don't know if this error began to occur, but now my volume control button produces the letters B and C when I ride it's right/left. Here, I'll roll c/cw-cw now:

    ccccccccccccbccccccccccccccccccccbbccccc

It produces the BS less often than c as you can see. In addition, he performs the adjustment bar volume but erratic: when I roll it clockwise it decreases the volume and then greatly increases the volume immediately. Turning clockwise increases the volume strongly, and sometimes it decreases the volume a bit.

I have the latest drivers for my Satellite and have not modified the operating system or the Services (such as HID Input service) somehow. I tried to use a previous version of the driver for the sound, but nothing changed. Thanks for your time.

    Hello

Someone had a similar problem. I read about it here in one of the wires (if you want to use the search option).
The point is that the technician cleaned wheel volume (contacts, etc...) and this has solved this problem.
I put t know if it's the same reason in your case but it s worth a try

Notes; Don t disassemble the laptop computer or similar! This can be done ONLY by ASP because of some validity of damage and guarantee of the equipment!

PS: of course the update of the BIOS is also advised.

  • Black screen when I restart the Satellite M305D-S4830

    Hello

I bought my Toshiba Satellite M305D-S4830 laptop a few months ago and I had a little problem with it.
Whenever I choose to "Restart" of the computer, it normally stops and begins to restart, but the screen stays black and the DVD player seems to loop start (like if it tries to start, but it may not).

It does this, infinitely and finally, I have to hold the power button to turn off and then on again.
    There, it starts normally.

In addition, the computer stops perfectly and boots perfectly when he was the previous order.

In any case, I can fix the function 'reboot '?

    Hmm that's strange

Have you tried to recover the operating system and to check if the problem still persists after using the recovery disk?
    Select this check box.

In addition, you should check your BIOS. Maybe a newer version is available.
    If so, then update!

  • Satellite M305D-S4830: error recovery - Partition creation failed

    Computer: PC Toshiba laptop
    Model: Satellite M305D-S4830

Problem: Originally windows wouldn't start; so I decided I would try reformatting it to solve the problem.
First of all, I erased the hard disk; now, I'm trying to use the "TOSHIBA Recovery Wizard" provided with the laptop for reinstalling the operating system, but end up getting the following:

    "ERROR: 08 - 0 74-0000.
    Failed to create partition. »

p.s. I've tried formatting using the command prompt, but it says format failed after choosing a volume name.

p.s. #2 when I run the Startup Repair tool, I get the error that the volume is corrupt

I noticed there is a hidden partition called X: where there is a backup of the operating system out-of-box, but have no idea how I could use this backup to possibly restore windows...

    What should I do?

I think the problem is the partition on your HARD drive.
You said erase the hard drive, well, this might be the reason why the recovery is not working as it should.

In my opinion full HARD drive must be formatted again (all partitions must be removed and formatted too.).
Perhaps you could use an original disc of Microsoft (Win XP CD) to format the HARD drive and you can then use the Toshiba Recovery disk to recover the laptop again!

And I think my fan is at its maximum RPM. (cuze of noise)

    I hope you can help!
    Greetz Rob

Try to use with reduced performance.
    Is it the same situation?

It is not easy to say what the problem is here, but if you think that something is not there please contact the closest service provider and let check your laptop.
They can test it in an idle state and working under pressure.

Here on the forum, we can just chat and ask why this happens but it won't help you at all.
Contact service and show them how it works. I'm sure they will have a final answer for you.

  • Where to find Win XP 64 bit for the Satellite M305D-S4830 energy management/conservation

I was able to completely load Windows XP 64-bit on my Satellite M305D-S4830 with all the drivers.
Everything is great except my battery only lasts is not too long to work.

I've searched but have not been able to find a working copy of Toshiba Power Saver that works on my laptop with XP 64.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Hello!

I think that you will not find a 64-bit version of Toshiba Power Saver.
Toshiba is not compatible XP 64 bits are therefore no available 64-bit software.

You must use the Windows settings or change you to Vista 64-bit. Vista has more options for saving energy and it s the same as energy saving.

    Good bye

  • Satellite M305d-s4830 - mic makes strong crunches

I'm trying to video chat with my girlfriend on the computer. She has a Satellite M305D-s4830 with a built-in camera and microphone. His microphone seems to not work properly. There is loud cracking which makes it extremely difficult to hear. Skype maintains also, display a popup telling him that there is a lot of background noise.

It makes noises regardless of whether it is expressed or not, or ether there is a noise in the room. To do this, however, seem to be worse when the laptop is resting on his knees.

We are looking for to rid this terrible noise from the mic. Any suggestions? Is there some sort of software that allows it to calibrate the microphone at all? Or it's just bad?

Say here, do a right-click on the speaker icon in the task bar, select recording devices then go to properties of the mic as default set, adjust volume, max the volume settings settings then add 10% boost, that's what I did when I had a problem similar with Skype. In Skype say here to go into the settings options and then audio and make sure that the right device is selected under microphone then save, everything should work ok now.

Bball 1561 also, I have a problem and I was wondering if you could help us, recently, I reinstalled vista for the same laptop computer which you gf but I couldn't locate the drivers mic, so I was wondering if it would be possible if you could ask you or your gf to send me a copy of the drivers that they are not big so they won't serve time to send
