  I used my drive external HARD for almost a year with no problems until now. When I hook it up to my laptop and try to open it, the computer laptop everything freezes and I can't do anything.

  It looks like a USB driver problem.
  I think you should first disconnect the HARD drive.
  Then go to Device Manager, look for USB hubs and controllers and uninstall/delete all the USB controllers.
  After that, restart the system. Wait for USB devices deleted would be recognized and then connect the USB HDD to one of the USB ports.

  I put t know what is the problem here but in recovery category you can find several threads where people report on the same issue. It is interesting that this is reported by mobile phones to the United States only.

  Generally speaking, you're right, but I guess you know that Toshiba doesn't support Linux, so you shouldn't think twice before buying for Toshiba laptop. If you want to have the right piece of hardware you buy Toshiba again but with Linux, you're on your own.

  Drive HARD recovery does not work because Win 7 ran the Boot Manager and maybe the HDD partition has been affected.

  I guess you want to roll back to Vista preinstalled Toshiba.

  Check the Device Manager for the entries in the card reader under "ATA/ATAPI IDE controllers" and "SD adapters.

  You can try to install the drivers built into Windows Vista

  AFAIK the Portege 3500 dose does not support internal CD/DVD players.
  Have you used an external hard drive that is compatible and supported for boot from the CD?

I tried to press F11 when the computer starts, and it does nothing except it emits a loud beep and continues on its way, commissioning. I tried about 15 times, following the specific steps that were given to me and even another way, that I found on the forum. All that happens is my computer restarts and I get into my account and it's the same as it was before. I really need perform this system recovery. I already moved the files that I need to save to an external hard drive, and I really need to solve this problem. What I am doing wrong, or how do I restore my laptop to factory in another way?

  2. This will launch the Microsoft Management Console.

  What happens if you connect the webcam to the laptop? Can win 7 recognize the device? Have you installed additional drivers for this webcam?

  I'm trying to fix the laptop of one of my friends, but so far without success. It's a Toshiba Satellite with Vista.

  I removed the battery and put back in place, without result.
  Connection to an external monitor shows no results.
  When I put the original CD recovery Toshiba, no results.

  So, basically a cell phone dead. Ah yes, I'm in the Brazil in a small village, away from the stores of tech support or computer. Maybe a problem material, but all was working fine until I used the hibernation.

  Any help or ideas would be very appreciated! ;)

  My laptop could not wake up after hibernation too but I managed to wake up again.
  This;
  Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.
  Now, you will have to wait a while 1 hour should be sufficient, but you can leave the laptop disconnected for a longer time (all night long)

  After that, you must connect the battery and AC adapter and should try to light the device if it will not help you then you are in trouble
  This would mean that a serious hardware problem causing this problem and I doubt you could remedy without any help from the ASP.

How I installed other versions is simply their execution.

  My laptop is a Satellite L350 PSLD0C-03N08C (http://www.toshiba.ca/web/product.grp?lg=en§ion=1&group=1&product=8193&p = 8282 #spectop art).
  Toshiba Canada site has only the drivers Vista (VAP). All the drivers on Toshiba Europe site worked perfectly.
  * Please help me, this is the only part that is left for my downgrade.* I can't use Power Saver, the Fn keys and all these important things if I don't get fixed.
