Drive problem hard imminent failure!

My "hard drive" is a 3320813AS of ST on a British flag s3624 and WARNING model: it is about to fail. Seagate advises going to a Barracuda 7200.11 and 7200.12, are these versions of replacement? or if I were to upgrade, should I go for?

redted,

The answers that you have been detailed and must be met as soon as possible in order to protect your data. As you say, your hard drive is a failure, and you should not continue to use it.

The general answer is that you need to create the recovery DVD "s (only DVD + R is recommended by HP) to really protect your operating system." This is your first step.

Not knowing your level of computer "eze" is the second problem.

(1) Big_Dave link to 'How to' articles is all you need to physically do the work. Then do the necessary backup of all your data. The last step would be to replace the disk, reinstall the OS and then the data files.

(2) this is the solution is simple and fast.  It's not basic built into the system. It requires time, and an external source (DVD or hard drive) to store all of your files to backup data.

(3) my solution was also based on "how to" articles But I suggest you clone the drive and be done with it.

I was using a HP Pavilion dv7 (#XZ292UA #ABC product) for writing and looking for a little more than a year and did not have signs of hard drive problems - until yesterday. Curiously the hard drive on my old HP Pavilion dv5500 still works fine (7 + years later). Anyway, I followed the instructions for "disk hard imminent failure" and made the backup of data and backed up my important documents and manuscripts to the older computer and two readers (just to be on the safe side) Flash.

I printed the "Instructions for fixing disk hard errors. Note the information provided includes the name of the disk: Toshiba MK7559GSXP ATA Device. I also checked to determine if there was any sign of trouble with the computer and the vacuum came.

I believe that the only way to 'Fix' the problem is to install a new hard drive (HD), but am open to suggestions. If the answer is to replace the HD, I would appreciate your recommendation for a more reliable alternative to existing material.

    Thank you for your help.

Thanks for your help. I did the back-ups, but could not get the laptop to repair the problem of the HD and will seek a replacement.

  • Computer HP laptop-15-r101na: disk hard Imminent failure

I've had this laptop for a month and after about 2 weeks, I received a message at startup telling hard imminent failure. I backed up all my data and run the hard drive tests.
Hard drive tests immediately to find a failure and gave me a failure ID but no resolution.

I am currently using the laptop as usual, but with an external hard drive connected to the caution. The hard drive has not yet failed, but the message remains displayed.

I'm a bit confused what is wrong and why it seems to not resolved itself?
    Any help would be appreciated?

    Hey Jake,

You are probably still in warranty.  Make sure you have backed up your files externally and contact hp support.  You will need a replacement of the hard disk.  Sorry to hear that you have problems, happy, that they performed while you are covered.

  • Pavilion 6610f desktop: HP Envy & WARNING: drive hard Imminent failure (please backup and replace immediately!)

Recently, I had 2 different cats with HP Tech Reps in which they used their remote control programs to check on the problems that I had with my new HP Envy 5560 all-in-one.  The next day, at the start of my desktop PC, I got the warning message: "" imminent hard drive failure: if it please take a full backup and replace immediately. "" I did a scan from HP and it showed nothing wrong. There are no pop icons - up or whatever it is on my desktop screen to indicate a problem.  The hard Seagate I have is only 1 years and 89% free space left on it and there is no problem, other than being slow sometimes, before the cats remote and the PC warning.  I came to the forum looking for answers, and the first thing I noticed was a post to say today 09/04/2015 Bent Canuck: "HP Envy Hard Drive Failure" at 06:22. What a coincidence. Think are?  Only some 20 hours from the time I myself first 'hard drive Imminent failure warning' and only about 40 hours after the remote programs have been downloaded (twice) and the rep tech, taking control of my computer (twice).

I ran all the diagnostics that my intermediate PC experience tells me to do.  I checked in the BIOS and I checked all the HP, troubleshooting, etc. on the Assistant HP program performance. I can find no reason for the hard drive to be failing.  I didn't notice it do anything else to be a little slow to start sometimes and slow to load stuff onto the internet, I have assumed it was probably malware and spyware that I must find a way to remove at one point, but I have received no warning about things either.  I get the same caveat and I did a full back, but...

Can someone tell me what to do or how to check and see what the problem is until I have to just chuck the drive because of this warning?

Thank you for the additional information.

Did you run the BIOS CHIP to test your hard drive?  Also, I don't think that the added hard disk HP software had nothing to do with the message you receive.

  • Drive problem hard "smart hard disk error".

Hello, about 6 months ago, I bought my HP envy m6-1252so, and since then it has been slow til to get totally stuck showing the "blue screen" error message, a month later, I turned on and showed me the message "no device found", then I went where I bought it and they said it was a software problem. That's why the guarantee would not fix because it takes that hardware problems (I have 3 years warranty). A friend, who is a maintenance-pc professional told me that the hard drive has problems and he screwed up, he has absolutely everything deleted hard disk ensuring that it would be totally free from virus and he reinstalled windows saying that I'm having the same problem soon, I had since re - install windows all almost 2 weeks because that the problem won't let me run windows showing me the message "error of. smart disc"and it could not connect to windows. My question is how could get my replacement of hard disk without having the same answer "it's a software problem?

    Sincerely, Milton.

    Milton,

The "SMART Hard Disc Error' returned by your computer indicates that the hard disk has failed or is about to fail. Please see test of hardware failures (Windows 8) and/or test a hard drive in the BIOS for instructions on testing your computer for a hard disk failure. If the error codes are returned or a test does not complete, please contact the official HP support in your region / country, via the Portal to support HP worldwide, to file a warranty claim.

You will need to use the HP recovery media, you created when you first set up your computer to restore the computer to a factory state after the hard drive has been replaced. If you create your personal HP recovery media, also contact HP support in your region / country, to see if the HP recovery support is available for your computer.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • Smart disk hard imminent failure

My laptop (hp G6 - A6 amd vision - quad core with windows 7 Home premium) was running very slow and hanging very often, I did a scan for a virus and, apparently, there was not. I did a restore to factory with hp Recovery Manager and now I get a message my hard drive is due to an imminent failure. The message is very annoying and scary because he asked me to back up my files or I won't lose them. Any idea what should I do then?

    Hello

Looks like you should consider replacing the hard drive so definitely make a backup of all your personal files etc. asap - is your laptop still under warranty?

If this is the case, contact HP on the link below and make arrangements for the disk needs to be replaced.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

  • Drive problem hard dv8000 - does not recognize hard drives

This is my first post, so please let me know if I did something wrong!

OK, so the other day, I was working on my dv8000 when he walks just down. I turned it back and instead of properly start he told me that he could not find the operating system. Knowing that the machine was two disks in it, I swapped the primary with secondary school and always got the same result. Then, I went out and bought an external and attached drive Bay hard drive to my office. The disc was bad and kept cycling the heads. I have now bought a new HDD and the laptop is currently configured with the new disk into the main slot and the other original hard dirve I checked and it is good in the second slot. Here's my problem - when I go in the bios that the computer recognizes the two hard disks for boot options, but when I try to load XP from a cd to the laptop, it tells me that there is just no hard drives installed... What don't get me? I checked the disc for errors via the bios and the comeback test passed. I thought about formatting of readers but the bios doesn't have a format feature in what I can say. for all the intense and fine, the bios sees the readers, but the operating system does not work. Any ideas >

Please help because this is my machine of the company and I can't keep borrowing my wifes laptop, she thinks I'm going to break this one too!

    Thank you.

"When I try to load XP from a cd to the laptop, he tells me that there is just no hard drives installed... What missing am me?"

Your cd does not necessarily include the required drivers. The original (MS detail) XP installation cd does not detect the SATA drives. Also some other readers can be detected, including the ATA/IDE standard. If you have your original factory CD, you could try this, it should work. You can try to install another operating system, for example. Ubuntu and see if these disk become visible.

  • Trying to determine if BCD is fixable software/driver problem or hardware failure (GPU)?

    Hello

I think this is the right place to post dump files memory to get the help of troubleshooting questions? I started on this: link

to use Driver Verifier, and the latter built: link

Learn how to find and download the files to get help. So this is a link to a drive to memory.dmp, extreme system windows system and report AIDA64 information: onedrive

I suspect that my problem is a graphics card fault, but before I go out and buy a new one (not the best time now) I'm trying to determine if it is indeed a hardware problem that needs to be replaced or if it's a software/driver problem that can be solved. I had this crash pop up sometimes in the past, but it was very little common, until two days ago, I was playing a game more modern and the screen cut out on me & computer crashed. I had to be hard to recover the low once or twice until. I went to a game played and lower spec for awhile and it crashed again. Now it crashes whenever I start (sometimes canned music plays while the screen is dead) and now also when you watch a video or just browsing youtube.

I already messed up around the graphics driver is uninstalled, using a program slate for leftovers, running a complete windows defender scan in safe mode and reinstall the graphics drivers. Doesn't seem to help. If my computer is turned off for a while she seems okay if I do not do much with it, but once it blocks then happens much more frequently to the point I just have to close for a while. It should not also be an overheating problem, I ran a tool to check the temp and my card works at 37 c in windows and 43 in a game low spec.

For any help or suggestion would be appreciated, thanks. Once again, I want to know if it is something that can be fixed or if I need to replace something. I really need a new PC, but do not have funds for the moment, but I can handle a new GPU.

If you have the integrated video card, you can always use it and calm down your use of graphics for a while... also consider whether there are computer shops and parts used in your area and find a backup card. If you need to adjust your monitor to the onboard video (as in DVI / VGA) there are adapters for this that attach the monitor cable with the connector on the computer.

Redundancy, even if it is the same, is always good.

  • Windows XP, disk hard imminent failure, can I select continue or setup to start the backup

At the bottom of the page that says "imminent hard drive failure", it asks if you want to continue, or the installer.  Which is better to back up the hard drive?

If the options "setup" means that you know what you are about to install Windows, stop.

I take the hunt, put it in an external enclosure and save it by connecting to another machine.

If you have a Western Digital hard drive, you can get a 'special' version of Acronis True Image WD's (http://support.wdc.com/product/downloaddetail.asp?swid=119) or you can get it separately (this is not an exhaustive list and is in no particular order):

Paragon Drive Copy or Partition Manager Personal

  • Qosmio F10-36: drive problem HARD and Qosmio player installation

I bought the Qosmio F10-36, made in Germany for the Russia and CIS. After that 6 months, it was repaired due to problems with the motherboard, it was totally changed in the video card and now there are problems with the hard drive after the start of the very slow work computer and finallly collapsed.

We had to format the hard drive and you must now install the player, Qosmio, which was also removed during this work.
How we achieve this, I'm too far from the nearest service centre.

frankly I am fed with this qosmio upward!
If any chance that I would go back to toshiba filled like never such problems before.

In my opinion maybe call and ask why this happen just to hear what they have to say about it.

In any case, I recommend you to follow:
If possible, back up all your data on an external device, such as USB key or HARD drive
The first installation with recovery CD Qosmioplayer delivered Qosmioplayer
When finished install OS using supplied recovery DVDs and you'll have the factory again settings

After this check the unit carefully to make sure if there is just like before.

When I turn on my computer laptop black screen saying I have to press F1 to continue, it says after that... disk failure hard immenent what can I do besides spend more than 200. OO, I don't?

    Hello

Chances are the hard drive failed, but it could be wiring or other materials.

Check with the system manufacturer's support, their documentation online and ask in their forums
(if any). Most have instructions to replace the hard drive.

You can usually buy a hard drive for alternatives for less than $100,00 and maybe much less. Or the other
get the same one or the same size.  System manufacturers usually several models if you
the same can buy cheaper. And there will be others who are of the same size and type which
can be used. Your local computer store can help select an appropriate player.

Here is an example of how to replace the hard drive on some HP computers for example. Most
other manufacturers are similar, and there are many generic examples on the internet.

  • Troubleshooting drive problem hard 3120n

    Hello world

I had my slimline 3120n for about a year and a half.  A few days ago, when that I start, the hard drive light flashes once, but the disc starts to turn.  I can hear the fan running and the burner works.  After trying a couple of times again, the disc finally starts.  This could be a problem with the drive, the power supply or the motherboard?  Thank you!

Out of the deal and look inside to see if things are getting a little dusty. Clean and run without the lid for a day two ro. If the problems disappear - your problem is the heat. If so, keep it clean and wind of the case.

  • Drive problem HARD bigger OptiPlex GX520 installation

Hello. I have a GX520 SF and I'm the rebuild as a PC for my daughter. It has a 80 GB Samsung HARD drive, but as I can fit only 1 HD in the chassis and there is only 1 SATA connector, I want to install a larger capacity drive.  I have a new 320 GB Hitachi sister (HDP725032GLA360) but when I put it in the GX520 my WOOD seems to see all 320 (could be asit receives a text string to disk rather than the bios disk interogating?) but the sys op (XP Pro) sees only 120 GB (or there abouts). I tried to partition it and no partitioning it but I can't work around this problem.  I also downloaded and installed the latest version of the BIOS from the page drivers on the website of Dell GX520. Then, the questions are:

Can I install the 320 GB drive and get to see / use it?

If so, how - if not, why not?

Otherwise, and 120 GB, that's all he can see, if I partition the drive on another PC as (for example) 120 / 120 / 80 can reinstall on the GX520 will go round the problem?

If not, then what are the options should I for a larger HARD drive (capacity / brand / model)?

Any help or advice gratefully received.

    Thank you, Steve.

BTW - don't have a floppy drive installed to start from, or the original recovery CD.

  • Start/drive problems hard satellite L305-S5899

Hello all - happy holidays and I would appreciate assistance. I just got this laptop for Christmas, and I woke up to find this morning in a blue screen! After I calm down, shut down the computer, and he refused to restart. Shows the TOSHIBA logo, then I get a black screen with a few letters indicating that the Realtek Ethernet part, then a line seems to say a multimedia cable is not found and more lines then seems to say there was no boot disk disk.please didn't insert the startup disk. I do - then the screen took me to the two options in a gray box - Toshiba system recovery or Restore Wizard. I take the Toshiba Restore Wizard. Now, no matter what I take (Out-of-box restore or clear HD) I get an error message when it tries to action and wonder of click OK to close the system.

If I try the system restore, it only tells me no detected WIndows...

Say the recovery disks to hold 'C' when the power is turned on and release when the Toshiba screen appears. I did and I got a black screen for hours who have sometimes a blinking cursor, a stable cursor or anything. I tried '0' as I've seen in these forums - nothing. I can't access F8 - all I get is F2 and F12 when I boot.

Again, the restore CD will work, but when I get to take action, I get an error message and tells me to press OK to turn off the computer.

It OF a lemon? Is my hard drive dead to the world? -What happened? It was fine for 3 days. I use BitDeffender and scan every night.

Still, any idea would be appreciated.

    > Is my hard drive dead to the world?

Looks like you had a bad luck for me it s not well explained why it happened, but it looks like a disc HARD does not run correctly.
I recommend to check if the HARD drive has been recognized in the BIOS.
If it isn't-> then the HARD disk is dead.

However, your laptop is new and I think you should visit your dealer and replace Notepad or you could contact the nearest ASP in your country and could ask for help.

In any case everything should be done for free because your warranty is valid and should cover everything!

    Good luck
