  I met a big problem today and I don't know what to do so I hope someone here can help me. I installed Windows 7, the 64-bit version on my Toshiba Satellite L500-13W PSLJ3E. The problem starts now.

  I tried to install the drivers for all components, and none of them does not seem to work. I have extracts of archive, double click on it, the free Extractor began and after windows asked as usual if I want to run the program. I press 'Yes' and nothing happened.   You install the drivers as administrator or normal user?
  Have you installed a firewall or an AntiVirus which blocks the installation?

  Usually the drivers are pre-tested by Toshiba so I t think they won t work

  You must also make sure that all Windows updates are installed, and as first, you need to install the chipset driver.

  While in the Device Manager, you can click on the view tab, click Show hidden devices.

  Satellite M40X sounds new enough to have CDs of feature writing. Seems to me a HW question but you can try:
  1 - Clean the blank CD with a cloth dry
  2 - blow to the goal and do not forget that there is no dust
  3. you can uninstall the driver from
  -> Panel-> system-> hardware-> Device Manager-> DVD - RAM-> (right click) properties--> driver uninstall-> restarting your laptop.

• Problem starting on Satellite M40X-250

  For some time, I'm having a problem with an old laptop, the Toshiba Satellite M40X-250.

  When I try to boot this laptop, the headlights turn on, I can hear the hard drive and fan from, also I can hear (if I have one there) station cd read cd/dvd.

  But nothing else happens, the screen remains black and there is no way I can make it work.

  I quite know something on the desktop, so I disassembled the laptop completely and just cleaned and after I reassembled it again, but that had no effect, I can not even boot up the laptop.

  There is however another strange thing, it is very rare, but sometimes I get to start, but at some random point (very quickly, because I can't actually use the laptop) it is for me a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) with an error code, I think it was 0x000000EA. In any case, this meant a driver problem with the graphics card. It gave me an error ATIDVAG.

  But most of the time I'm still not able to start.

  Now, it's a very old laptop and I have tried everything,.
  I tried to start without battery (disconnected) and only the power, without result.
  I tried to start only with the battery, no results.
  I tried to unplug the power supply and the battery, then press the power button / stop for 60 seconds, no results.
  I tried several rescue cd, a linux installation cd, windows installation cd, it resulted in nothing.
  [EDIT] I have also connected to the laptop to an external monitor, but that did not work, no results.

  I'm really lost now, I have tried everything I know, and I've never met a problem like this.
  Maybe it's just the fact that material became old and it is better to give up, but I would really like to know if there is someone who can help me and maybe give me some ideas on what I can do.

  I am very familiar with the inside of this laptop and I know what to do. I don't want to not call me an expert, maybe it is a little off, but I know my way around.

  Black screen means that the display is faulty or chip chart.

  I have a Satellite M40X-112 lapptop and I want to upgrade my 80 GB to 160 GB internal drive.

  I had two toshiba laptops satellite. On one, the hard drive went bad, the other liquid has been spilled, and the keyboard in ruins. The one with the bad hard disk was Windows Vista.  I replaced it with the hard drive of the other computer that uses Windows 7 Home Premium. Initially, it appeared, it would work without a problem, but I device driver problems.  First of all, it is audio and video.  When I updated the driver audio and restarted, Syntec PS / 2 touchpad no longer works. I tried (using the keyboard only) for updating the touchpad driver, but ultimately it fails with the message "the operation requires an interactive window station.  Then I tried to install a USB Microsoft Intellipoint mouse, it seems that the driver will be installed, but I had to use the keyboard to accept the terms and conditions. Then it errors "Setup was unable to install a required component: Microsoft Application Error Reporting." Restart your computer and try running the installer again.
