  Symptoms: Booted computer, loaded the raid drivers and showed at the start screen XP for half a second then to BSOD with a Stop error Code 0x0000007E - see also a lot of users (0xC0000001D, 0 x-, etc.) as well.

  Solution:

  1 boot from your Windows XP CD and start the recovery console. You may need to press F6 while RC loads in order to load the SATA drivers. you will have a prompt c:\WINDOWS to the console.

  2. type: CD $NtUninstallKB977165$ \spuninst (it's the update, I had to uninstall to get out of the boot loop, other updates can be uninstalled by changing the name of the directory to $NtUninstallKBCODE$, where KBCODE is the code KB)

  3. type: BATCH spuninst.txt

  4. type: exit

  Don't forget to configure your system to boot from the HD before resuming. I hope this helps. Saved me a lot of hassle today.

  You can select a range inside a clip with your clip in the timeline, placing your cursor on it and hold the 'r' key when you drag your cursor over the clip while pressing your mouse or track pad.  The range will be described in a yellow box.

  To select a range of multiple clips, select the first clip, and then select the last element while holding down the SHIFT key.

  I always use snow leopard (even if my Mac Pro Tower is perfectly executed El Capitan) because since 1993 , I double-clicked on files to open them in additional Windows. Then, when next door, it's easy to move things from one window to the other. And it's nice to scroll using the command-tilde.

  I don't want to hold the command key whenever I double click on a folder.

  Help, please.  I don't want to start using El Capitan in one day.

• Key control and command key in Lion mountain/Fusion 5

  The behavior of the control and command keys have changed with the Mountain Lion and Fusion 5. I don't know what changed the behavior change, but I'm looking for guidance. More specifically, in my Win7 clients running Outlook 2010, I used to be able to enter a meeting in the calendar, hold down the control key and copy the meeting to another time/day. That no longer works.

  Secondly, when I click command + tab to scroll through all my open programs on the host Mac computer, start of Win7 menu opens automatically. This never used to happen.

  I tried tweaking the mappings of keys and the behavior of the mice, but can't seem to recreate the behavior I had on Lion/Fusion 4.

  Have you tried ctrl and the alt key at the same time.  It works for me.

  Suddenly, I am unable to choose Photoshop CS6 as the 'Open with' default app in Win7 when I try to open JPEG files.

  I was able to change the default value of Viewer Windows for Photoshop photo on my Win 7 machine successfully. The steps that I followed:

  1. Open the control panel in the start menu.
  2. Mine is located on the top ' view by ' category. I clicked on (green link) programs.
  3. Under default programs, I clicked on the blue link to "make a type of file always open in a specific program.
  4. Wait for "Loading."... ». at the end make sure that the list is sorted by name and scroll down to ".jpg". Select it and click the button "Change program...". ».
  5. Do not see that Photoshop listed in recommended programs, to do this, click the small triangle right of other programs. Choose Photoshop and click on the OK button.
  6. Wait for the list to reload and confirm the association has changed.

  Note that you probably need to change this for .jp2, .jpe and .jpeg too in addition to some .jpg.

  I have 2 + files open in Photoshop CS5 on a Mac, and I'm in full screen or full screen w/Menu Bar Mode. I'm trying to switch between files without having to return to the Standard Display Mode. What is the command key to do it (switch between files)? If there isn't one, how I would fix for this? I don't know where to find the menu, except precisely by selecting a particular file.
  Also, I tried to drag and drop items from one file to the other and it seems that the only way to do that is if they are both in two windows comletely different app, don't not tabbed. Is this correct?
