  I live in the Chile and as some know, the time of energy savings change is pretty hectic down here.

  The Government has recently decided to return to the May15th to August winter time. Of course the time servers Apple (site time.apple.com) do not take into account this adjustment of random winter weather. However, there is a time-line server called ntp.shoa.cl success of the Chile that always updates itself very well.

  My questions are the following:

  -Can I add this server to the list of servers available through system preferences?

  -Does this mean that time will always update this server?

  -How the zone affects this server? Should I leave it on Santiago, Chile?

  Of course, my idea is to set up a server and it never change.

  The time servers NTP purge UT/UTC/Zulu time and not the local time.  They don't know what time zone you are using.

  You're going to need an update of your database of local time zone rules.    That can either be changed manually, or - pending a whole updated Apple rules - set the offset manually in System Preferences > Date & time > time zone or (more probably) from the command line.

  From what I've seen of him, the Chile is used to make changes of last minute, no pun intended - for DST.   This means that everyone tends to be a little behind on the latest distribution of the whole of the zone rules.

  But if this does not work, try to GMT - 4.  (IIRC, POSIX tends to do the GMT offset direction, um, differently from everyone else.)

  Your hard drive needs to be replaced. After the back if you want specific help with that. On your model, it is manageable for the end-user to do so, although not very easy. You are under warranty?

  DST: Fail means that the hard drive has failed/is a failure and should be replaced.

HP UEFI Diagnostics for hard drive failed the DST short test with failure code MBX47F 0006QU PXGK01 QT 60 03. Does this mean I need to replace my hard drive? Product ID of my laptop is A6Y53UAR #ABA and I have Win7-64 installed on it.

  Your laptop is listed as coming with a HARD drive from 640 GB, but given that there is little difference in cost, you can replace this with a 750 GB option.

  Regarding the reinstallation of the operating system, you can create your own installer of Windows 7 USB drive flash as follows.

  Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

  Using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below--these Images are of a very respected source (Digital River).

  Once completed, use the Microsoft Tool on the following link to create a USB bootable Windows 7 installer - you will need a 4 GB flash for this drive.

  My laptop is HP g002ax, and it opens to a black screen in normal mode after showing the symbol of hp. I did an update of the bios is a few days. So I tried to roll back the bios, but it did not help. I conducted tests of the system and found that the short dst check has failed.   New laptops are much more fast and pleasant. If your budget by all means, treat yourself. You could fix your old for around $ 100 may - $50 - $60 for a hard drive and about $40 for a recovery media.

  Well, I'll start with bad - your drive HARD is dead and is defective. It is hardware problem. You will probably not be able to recover your data and I hope that you have of course backup (copy) of your most important data.

  Yes, you could buy the power supply Q7310-6003 to the United States when you get back.  See http://h20141.www2.hp.com/hpparts/partsdirectory/buy.htm or Google for Q7310-60003.  Prices vary widely, I saw one for $ 100 and another for $30.  I also had good results by purchasing replacements from eBay.

  Also carefully check the power supply you have - suppleis most of our days have a 'universal' entry note, maybe it's that one that you already have work and you would need just to a new power cord.

  In the screenshot, Road Town is in the British Virgin Islands, which is located on AST and not DST observed.
