Dual boot on Satellite A200 with Vista-XP?

Computer details: * Satellite A200 PSAE6E... *.
The laptop came with Vista... I managed to install Windows XP (with new drivers etc...) and it ' s working fine * BUT * after reboot, Acronis OSS does not recognize Vista and the computer starts directly with Win XP only. (I need two BONES...)

I'm looking for a lot of instructions now of hours * dual boot *, but everyone takes for granted that I have an Installation DVD for Vista... I don't!
Toshiba came only with the product recovery CD, so all the instructions of MBR and solutions that even Microsoft gives me (E:\boot\bootsect.exe/nt60 all...) it does nothing!

Is there anyone out there?
Please... If you can give me no hint at all... it would be just a miracle... Thank you

Hello

have you heard of 'Vistaboot'-> http://www.vistabootpro.org/

A program that allows you to change the bootoptions, so if you want to change the boot settings, then try this program.

Otherwise, you can also consult the "UBCD4Win" program which is a live cd of windows xp with many tools, you may find something to change the Boot Manager.

Good luck

    Hello guys,.

I have a Satellite A200 with Vista Home Premium installed. In the past months, the BONE is suspended every day, I was not able to detect the reason. nothing is having replied to the questionnaire, not even Ctrl-Alt-Delete, the only solution is to stop from the power switch.
I do not found something wrong in the system log, so I do not know what to do. Toshiba PC diagnostic shows everithing OK.

What can I do? Perhaps a cooling problem? A guide for cleaning?

    Thank you.

    Hello

So to be honest, it's hard to say what are the really causes your system to hang. Possible reasons:

    HIV 1-infected
2 problem of file system Os including drivers, programms...
    3 had to be clean
    hardware problem 4

    I recommend:

    1 search for viruses
2 reinstall the drivers (especially as a vga and chipset drivers). Check installed programs
3 use compressed air jet to blow off the dust from the cooling module.

If this does not help, do a fresh install of the operating system. Then we will see what to do

  • Dual boot win xp and win vista

I use a computer with 2 partitions on my hard drive.  The first one has vista 64 bit on it... I would install xp 32 bit on my 2nd partition to create a system dual boot, but everything I find says to install the oldest operating system first.  When I tried to install win xp to Windows vista, it wouldn't let me.  Then when I tried to boot from the xp disk, the installation blue screen came, but after loading drivers, he jumped a blue screen (the one which means that your computer has crashed) whenever I tried.  How to install xp now?

Vista is the 1 MS OS where you do not have to install the OS (XP) more older 1st in a dual-boot.
But, in a dual boot XP remove Points of Vista all the restoration.

    Read the Guide.

Come on first, site of the manufacturer of your computer, check to see if your model computer has XP drivers available for it...

If the XP drivers are not available for your model, forget the idea.

  • Can not install device driver USB IRDA Kingsun on Satellite A100 with Vista OS

I have a USB IRDA Kingsun device that worked well on a desktop with XP but my Satellite A100 with Vista defies installing the drivers that came on a CD with the IRDA.

How can I install or does anyone know one that works with Vista?

    Hello

If you are not able to install the 3rd party device IRDA driver on Vista, it seems that the disc is not compatible and don t support Vista.
Seems you have to contact the manufacture of the IRDA device and ask the compatible reader

But maybe that you're unlucky and the Vista driver does not exist?  :|

  • How Formatt Satellite A200 with recovery disk

    People...

    I need help.

I currently own a Satellite A200 and I contain the recovery disc. I have 2 hard drives, 1 with vista, 1 with all the stuff not install as a music. I want to formatt the discs with the recovery disk. I formatted the C drive with vista before, but I don't remember how once again.

When you use recovery disk for the installation of operating system of the first HARD drive will be formatted completely. This means that all partitions and data will be gone. Second HARD drive can be formatted in Vista.

So now install new OS by using recovery image.
Start your laptop and press F12 will be bootable devices
Place the recovery media in the optical disc drive
In the list, select CD/DVD and press ENTER
Follow the menu on the screen (for the most part, you must press button NEXT)

When the facilities of the OS is finished and you can start Vista, type Windows Explorer (combination WIN + e. click with the right button of the mouse on the second HARD drive and select Format...

    All that s!

I tried to dual boot on my Satellite A205-S6808. I installed W7, and I want to boot with XP Pro.l Lap Top does not accept them Pro.What of XP is possible?

    Hello

What do you mean, the laptop does not accept the XP Pro? You can not install Windows xp or it is installed and you cannot start it upward?
AFAIK, the best solution is to install Windows xp, then Windows (Vista). Otherwise, Windows Xp will delete the bootloader of Windows 7 and you will need to get it back

  • Satellite A200 - PSAF6A Vista: HDMI video resolution problem

    Hello

Bought a Toshiba Satellite A200 recently, with a HD2600. Because I can't find an APA Help Forum, I hope someone can help me here.

    I have the following problem.
I use another manufacturer AL2216W (the only available driver is for XP, which I installed it on Vista Ultimate without any problems) widescreen 22'.

The monitor is capable of displaying 1680 x 1050 (60 Hz). If I connect it to the analog port of the laptop, I can select the resolution and it works very well.

If I connect it to (via a DVI - D to HDMI Cable adapter) HDMI port on my laptop, the highest resolution is only 1440 x 900. I already installed the drivers several times, but it does not show the resolution 1680 in digital mode.

The strange thing is that the monitor is correctly identified with the resolution to 1680 x 1050.

I use the extended view option, since I want to use both screens.

    Thank you

What do you think of technical requirements?
Maybe the graphics card does not offer this resolution for HDMI port. I don't think you can solve this problem with the latest driver from Toshiba. I know that you want to have the digital signal, but if nothing works try to use this adapter.

  • Windows XP - Dual Boot for Satellite U300-134

Hello. I have read other responses to this problem of the addition of Windows XP (as a dual boot) but it still doesn't work. My laptop (I bought a few days ago) comes with Vista, and I bought Windows XP Home Edition - OEM. I got the intel matrix storage manager on a floppy USB drive, but now it gives a message "the txtsetup.oem file is not found." I have XP because it turns out that my work WHAT VPN does not work under Vista (I found that out AFTER I bought the computer unfortunately).

Can you please tell me what I should do next to get this working? And any other surprises I might encounter? I looked around the internet but cannot find the answers to this. I tried nlite, but have not managed to get this working but either.

    Thank you.
    Ian

    Hello

There are different reasons why you can not install Win XO on the U300.

First use the right Manager, Intel Matrix Storage Manager?
Laptop you seems to support the Intel GM965 + Intel ICH8M chipset!

    Please check this thread!
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=26040

The user Markus77 has listed the details!

Also please don't format the HARD drive or create any installation AFTER the partitions of the Intel Matrix Storage manager. This would remove the driver already installed.

  • Satellite A200-1SJ - Vista reinstall WLan driver every time after reboot new

    Hello

I have problems with communication wireless on my satellite A200-1SJ. When I swich on my Windows Vista early computer installing wireless network card drivers and the installation is not successful.

I tried to install the latest drivers, but it does not help. In Device Manager its written as wan windows cannot load driver (code 31).
The same problem is with the bluetooth adapter that does not work as well.

Connectivity doctor say that any (LAN, Wlan) is swiched of when I am connected to the LAN and even information on missing bluetooth connectivity Doc.

I tried to reinstal drivers and connectivity doctor, but it did not help.
I would be grateful for all the help.

    THX CoRrUpT3R

Did you check that you have downloaded the latest drivers from this page: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com?
I'm not sure of what causes this, but try to completely uninstall the wlan and bluetooth drivers, restart.
Vista try to install them again?

There may be a problem with your user account and you have not full admin rights. Try to log on as an administrator or create a new account using the privileges and do a reinstall of the drivers. Do this with the doctor of connectivity also. Could help.

  • Dual-boot on Satellite A300 - 21 H

    Hello

I'm trying to dual boot this machine with Windows XP Home edition as a second operating system. The drive is already partitioned and ready to take the bone, but when the machine is started with the xp cd it will get only in what concerns the installation of base drivers and you get the BSOD, it is before you get even to specify options etc. I have two of these machines, and they both do the same thing.

    Any help would be fantastic.

    Tom

    Hello

I think you get the BSOD due to lack of SATA drivers in Windows XP
You must include the SATA drivers to the Win XP operating system first.
To do this, the nLite software could be used.

Google and the search here on the forum for nLite, SATA and Intel Matrix Storage Manager drivers there are a lot of discussions on this theme.

PS: After installing Win XP you will not be able to start the Vista because Vista boot manager would be a shame to Win XP.
To do this, you will have to start Microsoft Vista DVD (not Toshiba recovery disc!).
The DVD of Vista would be fix again the Startup Manager and you could start in Vista.

Then, you need to install the free tool called EasyBCD.
This tool allows you to change the Vista Boot Manager and include the Win XP on the start menu.
This menu appears at the beginning and will allow you to choose between Vista and Win XP.

I did on my laptop and it worked perfectly!
