Dual monitor issues on Windows

I run a workstation Xeon Dell dual with a NVIDIA Quadro NVS 310 512 MB video card. Several times my monitor is black when you enter a keyword. Other times, the screens of 1st and 2nd swap locations. Today, I lost the main screen of LR and had only screen 2nds discovers. At the same time, the windows, the task bar disappeared, so I Ctrl = alt = delete to exit.

Someone knows how can I avoid these problems?

Blessed excrement! After frustrating months of bi-ecrans LR questions and a month of waiting for an answer on this forum, I called Adobe technical support. Only five minutes before dialing, I had updated my PhotoShop CC application. When the useful Adobe tech classmate is online, I can't reproduce all the issues that had been plaguing me. It is a stretch... a biiiiig stretch... but he is feels/figure/seems that PhotoShop CC update has fixed my bi-ecrans LR problems! I'll keep track of what other programs I use and open while LR - ing to see if they are relaxing, but for now, everything is quite in front of two monitors.

I am only using one monitor, but for some reason, my computer has now two screens and I cannot delete the other.  It is visible to the right of the main screen when I use screenshot. Sometimes the second screen resumes and all the hidden icons.  I first had to reboot with the power button, but then realized that I could see the icons and normal screen remotely from my phone.  I then close all programs and restart the phone, and my normal home and icons display back for a week or two, before that happens again.

I right click on the desktop, then left click on the resolution of the screen to access the 'Change the appearance of your screens' page, but I see no way to get rid of the second display.  How should I solve this problem?  Thank you.

    Right click on the desktop

    Choose the screen resolution

In the multiple monitors box, drop-down and choose Show Desktop 1 only

    Click OK

Or shortcut: hold down the windows and press P until the computer 'only' is highlighted.

  • I have a Setup dual monitor.  When I paste develop settings from one image to the other, Lightroom going on the active window.

Strange problem.  5.5 Lightroom.  Windows 8.1. Setting up dual monitor.

I am processing a lot important photos.  I have #1 monitor set as my main to develop the window with #2 monitor configured only to display a larger version of the image, I work with. If I copy the parameters of development out of a picture and try to paste them on another image, Lightroom will increase from the #1 to the monitor #2 monitor in the main window to develop and does not display anything on the monitor #1.

If I then try to paste develop settings on another image on the monitor #2, LR then displays a larger version of the image, I have been working with the #1 monitor.

To work like I want to, I have to constantly drag my develop the window back to the #1 monitor whenever I try to paste the settings on a new image of development. How can I make this stop?

  • Installation of the driver software window opens on the second monitor in a dual monitor extended installation of the monitor

The "Software Installation" window will open on the second monitor in a dual monitor extended installation of the monitor

I have a dual display setup. A 225WS 1680 x 1050 monitor LG is connected via a VGA cable and a VGA - DVI converter to a DVI port on a Radeon 6850 video card. The second screen is a Samsung HDTV set at 1920 x 1080 and connected via HDMI on the same video card. I have set up the screen LCD as main monitor and the Samsung HDTV as the extended display. HDTV is most of the time, but I use it at least once a day. This isn't a driver problem, because it happened also when I had an old Nvidia video card and it is fixed by a new installation of windows and setting up of screens from a square.

The installer works great almost all the time except when I try to use some programs or Windows functions (7). When I try to start the MozBackup application or I pop in a new usb device and click on the notification bubble, both these windows (MozBackup and the "Driver software Installation" window) open in the center of the HDTV as opposed to the LCD (which is defined as primary). The problem is that the views are ~ 3 meters out and HDTV is mostly off.

I sent a bug report to the developer of MozBackup because this part is perhaps a problem with its software or what old Windows functions and hooks it uses, but the window "Installing the driver software" (or who knows what other program Windows Basic) has exactly the same problem and is part of Windows.

What can I do about it? I DIDN'T put the displays in any mode "clone" to have office in mirror between them. Is - this fixable somehow? I guess that is not a problem with the video card drivers because I used two different video cards with either the manufacturer or windows update drivers and the problem is the same.

I'm talking about a window similar to this one

    http://jaunty-electronics.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Freedom_FRDM-KL25Z_driver_install.PNG

    Try changing the backup.ini

    you find it in

    .. \Program files (x86)\MozBackup\backup.ini

Open the file backup.ini with editor

Check if you have the rights to save the changed files in this directory. You may need to change the Directory rights

Change the value of "1": monitor

    wyzodir =

; Monitor: the monitor number where MozBackup window will appear

    monitor =1

'2' or whatever the value of your primary monitor is:

    wyzodir =

; Monitor: the monitor number where MozBackup window will appear

    monitor =2

System main screen could be identified as '1 '. If you have changed the monitors, it can be used internally '2 '.

  • Windows Snap function does not work inside a Setup dual monitor.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 fully updated.  So far, it's great. But I have two monitors, 1440 x 900 primary and secondary 1280 x 1024 with the secondary monitor on the right of the main screen. When I try to 'break' a window on the edge of each monitor located next to the other monitor, nothing happens.  I was wondering if it was a typical problem people have seen or if it was just me and if there is no way to do work or if there was a patch for it. (A built-in feature of Google chrome "fit" allows inside monitors). Thanks for your help!

    Hello

The action which engages a window on the side of a monitor, when you drag a window, is when the cursor comes in contact with the last row of pixels on the edge of the screen. Since there is no physical "edge" where monitors meet on a dual monitor configuration by dragging a window to that location does not work.

You can always break a window inside edge on a double configuration monitor using the keyboard.

= Wink left arrow Windows logo key + left key
= Wink right arrow Windows logo key + right key

    I hope this helps.

If you use a dual monitor, (SUI) window is displayed on the main screen.

I want to display the window (SUI) based on the location of InDesign.

How to get location of InDesign?

    Thank you.

app.activeWindow.bounds will give you the coordinates of the window further in Indesign. $.screens will give you information on the displays. You can use these two properties to deduce the position of indesign.

  • Supported Windows Server 2012 r2-dual monitor

    Hi all

I'm trying to become more proficient with Windows Server OS.  I installed Windows Server 2012 r2 on an older laptop (HP ProBook 6565-b) of the mine because the base OS (not remote communication in).  I'm wanting to add a second monitor to this machine, for either extending display, or simply duplicate, if I close the lid-if I can use my screen a lot nicer, bigger than what is connected to the laptop.

I read through all the posts on double monitor support for Windows server, but have had no luck so far with suggestions that I have ad (updated & reinstall the drivers, etc..).  I also had a cheap USB to VGA external video card (Startech.com) I tried to use... no luck.  Before I installed Windows Server 2012, I got this working environment in Windows 7 and 10 on this laptop, so I think the graphics card is supported?  I wonder if this is even possible or if I'm wasting my time?

Any idea on how I can make this work would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

I am currently under a dual screen setup with my monitor and a separate screen. It seems to work fine for a while and then all of a sudden my computer will start to act up, and then it will go to the blue screen of death. Thanks in advance, Scott

EDIT - if I remove the VGA cable connect my laptop on the screen while my computer crashes, it will return to normal after a second or two. However, if I try to plug it back in then it will take to crash my computer.

  • Dual monitor dilemma: dvi - d, out of reach

I have been running this Setup dual monitor since late December and have had no problems so far. But before I did my primary secondary monitor and tried to run 'Civilization beyond Earth' (which I've cranked up for the highest possible settings) on it and was greeted with "dvi - d out of reach of the 67.5 khz/60 Hz" on a black screen. So I restarted my computer, which only complicated the issue because my LG (which again, read "dvi - d out of reach of the 67.5 khz/60 Hz") was my main monitor, and so I couldn't connect. It's been fixed only when I unplugged my other monitors the dvi cable, and my login screen appears.  I can run the other monitor as my primary, but only if the LG is unplugged, and as soon as I plug my LG it becomes main monitor and displays new "dvi - d out of reach of the 67.5 khz/60 Hz", which means that I can't do my other monitor primary so that the two are connected.

My questions are: You have an idea, what is the problem? Or how to fix it? I can't stop the LG to the monitor main spot? Why is it read "dvi - d out of reach of the 67.5 khz/60 Hz" when the two are connected?

    Hey Joe,

Thanks for posting your concern on the Microsoft community.

With the description you've provided, looks like there could be some problems with the resolution of the video card.

I suggest you increase the refresh rate of the video card and check if that helps. You can follow the steps described in the following article:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/correct-monitor-flicker-refresh-rate#1TC=Windows-7

Note: If you notice flicker on a CRT monitor, you may need to change your screen resolution before changing the refresh rate. The resolution is high, the higher your refresh rate should be, but not every screen resolution is compatible with every refresh rate.

    For more information, see

    Change your screen resolution:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/change-your-screen-resolution

Changes to the refresh rate affect all users who log on the computer.

Hope this information helps. Let us know the State and do not hesitate to write back to us for assistance.

  • The main screen becomes secondary in a Setup dual monitor (DVI-HDMI)

Original title: WINDOWS PROGRAMMERS: problem with OS Windows7 not being not able change the numbers of identifiers when using multiple screens and HDMI

To be clear... This problem is with the Win7 OS - no video card GUI that allow to change number ID display on multiple monitors.

Problem with several screens and the use of HDMI cables substituent and #1 assuming that for its corresponding display view identifier.

    Not always ID desired.

But there is no way to change this.

    EXAMPLE:

Monitor is configured as primary display (ID #1) using a DVI cable

Then I connect my SONY Bravia or my LG HDTV displays using HDMI cables, the new screen automatically takes over as the display identifier #1 and the monitor becomes identifier #2.

-This introduces to the identifiers is not something I want, need or want to deal with every time I use several displays. And it creates problems.

There is NO way to correct or modify the identifiers.

Please provide a FIX as soon as possible if you have an ounce of concern for the customer service.

The solution can be as simple as:

GO to THE control panel - appearance and customization - display - change display settings:

Right CLICK... on one of the displays in the window to the left of "Detect" / "identify."

Then the OPTION 'Change display login' with a list of relevant identifier numbers according to the number of multiple connected screens.

    Click 'apply '.

    CLICK ON 'OK '.

and Voila! View identifiers are defined.

    WINDOWS:

We, your customers, look forward to the difficulty of Windows update that contains this fix a lot expected and necessary.

Feel free to send me the BETA version of the patch when his complete: * e-mail address is removed from the privacy *.

    Hi Jean-Pierre.

Thank you for all the information related to the issue.

This problem may occur if the display of the configuration settings dual monitor retain the configuration. Possible reasons could be installed on the computer outdated display driver.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer or the graphics card?
    2. Are you using double display card? Sometimes changing the display settings for the display cards might solve the problem.

First of all, if you have a display of the map or media panel installed on the computer, go to the control panel and change the setting under multiple display change. Assign the identity number according to the status monitor, then check if it retains the configuration when you restart the computer.

Additionally, make sure that you have installed the latest version of the display driver for Windows 7 from the website of the manufacturer of the computer. Sometimes, if the driver is not being updated, the setting may not keep the entire installation. See the link to know how to update the driver on Windows 7:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Update-driver-hardware-ISN

    Please keep us informed.

  • Incorrect monitor detected by Windows Update.

    Hello

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit in my processor of Pentium dual core.
The problem is that initially I thought that the native resolution of my Viewsonic VA1716w monitor is 1280 * 1024. But recently, I found in the Web of Viewsonic site, the native resolution is 1440 * 900. I tried to install the drivers from the manufacturer's CD, but it failed. Then I tried to install the driver manually by going from the CD and it succeeded. I restarted the computer, but the screen has not changed. I ran Windows Update because I thought that this would solve the issue but Windows has detected my screen as a monitor ACER S271HL and installed the wrong drivers. I can't have the option of resolution 1440 * 900 resolution of the screen layout. The closest I get is 1600 * 900, that supports monitor, but do not display correctly. What can I do to install the right drivers so that I can get the native resolution.

PS I forgot to mention that I downloaded the drivers on the site but it gives drivers for Windows 7. So I downloaded the drivers for Windows Vista. But when I tried to install it says "your monitor is not found. Go to www.viewsonic.com and download the file Standard_Monitor_Driver_Unsigned"but I can't find an unsigned version of the drivers.

It is worth noting that monitor can have an internal ID string which then tells Windows 'pilot' to use.  If the monitor does not provide correct or the Windows can not read, Windows will use the enemy pilot generic PnP monitor.

  • Dual monitor problems / external

I recently bought a netbook NB200/007 and want to use two monitors (mainly for display of pictures etc on larger screens)

It came preloaded with Windows 7 starter, after having found that the Starter edition did not support dual monitor that I've upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium, but I'm still not yet to make it work.

When the external monitor is connected, the netbook picks it up and sets up two monitors, but the external screen does not light (it remains in standby mode) I tried several different resolutions and also tried to use the external monitor as a single screen by selecting the option to have it as my main screen.

If anyone has a suggestion of how I could get it to work, I would greatly appreciate.

    Kind regards.

    Hi puma325,
    install the 'value added package.
This will add some features like "Fn + F5" for switching the display...
