  • 64 bit Vista having bad update

I recently boguht a new computer HP laptop, Pavailion dv2 1039wm, among other problems he struggles to update to vista.  Safely update program download updates in the background with no problems, but when I restart the computer to install updates problems begin.  Updates are usually in groups of 14.  The installation progress screen goes through them both their installation, but most often remains on the 7th update for some time.  The following updates are almost as slow.  About half an hour for these 14 updates to install.  Then the computer stops, so I select the back to let that complete the updates install on the screen just before I connect.  Here's the big question.  In the 3rd phase of the installation it shows 0% progress and then stall for about 15 minutes he finally says "updated unconfigured, reversal of the changes" to the login screen.  Please help, I've had nothing that trouble from this computer and I would really like to get this right.

  • Dv2-1030us - right speaker does not play

Just got my new DV2-1030us last Friday. I am disappointed that the built-in speakers do not play in stereo. Plays only the left speaker. Does anyone else have this problem? OS is Vista Home premium - 64-bit. The unit features audio SRS premium.

    Thank you!

Discovered, he's playing. It sounded like he is because the right speaker seems to be located in the center of the laptop even with the touchpad. This does no good stereo separation making the sound seem to be mono. Not a deal breaker for me, but a little disappointing.

  • Pavilion dv2 laptop: how to connect as administrator

I used my HP recovery disks to restore my laptop to condition factory & now want to install the updates of Windows (Vista), install programs, etc.  Vista updates are installed by Service Pack 2. I have installed/activated Microsoft Home & Student 2007. Then (via Control Panel / Windows updates) I clicked «get updates for more products» Forcing an update of the Windows Update software.

Then, there were 163 updates... 17 load without problems... then there have been 158 updates (163-17 = 158?). I tried to install those & told me I need to log on as an administrator.

How to open a session as an administrator?

I am the only user on this computer. I never connected as administrator (before or after the use of HP recovery discs). Whenever "authorization" is required, I always just clicked OK or whatever... no opening of the special session, or password was necessary.

  • Example: HP 15-1039wm: I installed a new hard drive. 8.1 disk request coa

I received a HP 15-1039wm with a bad hard drive. I bought a new hard drive installed and put in a disc of windows 8.1, I burned off the coast of the Digital River, and it ask for the appeal docket number. I think the number of BIOS is not it. How to do this

    Hello:

I think that if you look more closely model, you will find it a 15-f039wm.

The file you download Digital River usable only with a retail product key.

The product key in the BIOS is an OEM product key.

Your only other option is buying a W8.1 OEM full installation kit, would order W8.1 recovery media for your portable computer from the link below.

Select the operating system W8.1 and the link to the order recovery media is the last element of the page.

    That would be a 15-f039wm.

  • Pavilion dv2: need software maintenance and diagnosis to check the hardware components of the computer laptop all the

The bad news is: I recently left my HP Pavilion dv2 Notebook PC to the security of the airports in Europe. The good news is: it was located and returned to me (almost a month later) in the United States.

Of course, along the way, he has not managed with 'tender loving care' I always gave him. He passed through several airports, temporarily, stopping in several departments lost & found... The final package (US Priority Mail with bubbles air, etc.) has been slightly damaged when I received it, even if no internal damage was apparent and the laptop seems to work OK.

This laptop is used rarely; for the most part a few times a year when I travel. I don't want future surprises when I'm away from home without other 'resources '. I feel much more comfortable if I could give him a thorough training in order to ensure that there's no "shaken loose" or something else. Of course, it would not guarantee 100%, but it chill my mind.

Software maintenance/diagnostics monthly, to check all hardware variety, would automatically go on my old HP desktop computer. I can't find something similar on my laptop.

    Any recommendations?

  • HP Pavilion DV2 1010-ea: processor

    Hello

I was wondering that if I could upgrade my processor that my computer is very slow and the "lag", I already updated the RAM, but it did not help much, preferably the 64-bit processor, I don't know what will fit the card mother/socket.

Model no. HP Pavilion DV2 1010-ea

    Thank you very much

Your laptop is essentially a netbook, using a low power processor. There are two versions; a discreet and one with integrated using different motherboards, but both graphics using the same processor AMD Athlon Neo MV - 40 embedded.

    Your repair manuals

    Description of the Athlon Neo

The CPU is soldered to the motherboard, so there is no possible upgrade. The processor is 64-bit, by the way.

Your best update would install an SSD. This will get rid of a lot of the LAG. The hard drive is fairly easy to remove and replace it with an SSD. See Page 41 of the manual. You have the external USB DVD burner?

Hi, I just got a pavilion dv2-1030ea as a gift and I want to upgrade the card wireless to a version N (only comes with B and G compatible card), but on some sites, he pointed out that not all wireless mini pci-e cards do work with computers laptops hp.

is this always true? If so what cards are supported? also if this is the case how can I remove this restriction? IMHO, I should be able to use my computer as I see fit, not how the manufacturer decides is acceptable.
