HP Pavilion DV2 1010-ea: processor

Hello

I was wondering that if I could upgrade my processor that my computer is very slow and the "lag", I already updated the RAM, but it did not help much, preferably the 64-bit processor, I don't know what will fit the card mother/socket.

Model no. HP Pavilion DV2 1010-ea

Thank you very much

Your laptop is essentially a netbook, using a low power processor. There are two versions; a discreet and one with integrated using different motherboards, but both graphics using the same processor AMD Athlon Neo MV - 40 embedded.

Your repair manuals

Description of the Athlon Neo

The CPU is soldered to the motherboard, so there is no possible upgrade. The processor is 64-bit, by the way.

Your best update would install an SSD. This will get rid of a lot of the LAG. The hard drive is fairly easy to remove and replace it with an SSD. See Page 41 of the manual. You have the external USB DVD burner?

    Hello

I do not recommend a CPU replacement at this time.  Go with the video card and POWER supply upgrades and then see if your applications are starved for cycles CPU.

This pass benchmark CPU mark shows your current processor.

You should be able to run AMD 1045-1065T in your PC if necessary.  Much will depend on whether your applications can take advantage of more than four cores.

  • Pavilion dv2 laptop: how to connect as administrator

I used my HP recovery disks to restore my laptop to condition factory & now want to install the updates of Windows (Vista), install programs, etc.  Vista updates are installed by Service Pack 2. I have installed/activated Microsoft Home & Student 2007. Then (via Control Panel / Windows updates) I clicked «get updates for more products» Forcing an update of the Windows Update software.

Then, there were 163 updates... 17 load without problems... then there have been 158 updates (163-17 = 158?). I tried to install those & told me I need to log on as an administrator.

How to open a session as an administrator?

I am the only user on this computer. I never connected as administrator (before or after the use of HP recovery discs). Whenever "authorization" is required, I always just clicked OK or whatever... no opening of the special session, or password was necessary.

Your PC has only a 250 Watt POWER supply.  Try a Corsair CX600.

Well, I finally solved the problem of installation by reviewing the Setup log file in my ~ temp directory.  It turns out that at some point, I've cleaned too many hp related files in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Hp\Common, i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Hp\Common\AclmControl.exe.  I managed to copy a bunch of files of my virtualbox windows 10 install on my local machine and I got the HP Support Assistant to install!

  • Pavilion dv2: need software maintenance and diagnosis to check the hardware components of the computer laptop all the

The bad news is: I recently left my HP Pavilion dv2 Notebook PC to the security of the airports in Europe. The good news is: it was located and returned to me (almost a month later) in the United States.

Of course, along the way, he has not managed with 'tender loving care' I always gave him. He passed through several airports, temporarily, stopping in several departments lost & found... The final package (US Priority Mail with bubbles air, etc.) has been slightly damaged when I received it, even if no internal damage was apparent and the laptop seems to work OK.

This laptop is used rarely; for the most part a few times a year when I travel. I don't want future surprises when I'm away from home without other 'resources '. I feel much more comfortable if I could give him a thorough training in order to ensure that there's no "shaken loose" or something else. Of course, it would not guarantee 100%, but it chill my mind.

Software maintenance/diagnostics monthly, to check all hardware variety, would automatically go on my old HP desktop computer. I can't find something similar on my laptop.

    Any recommendations?

  • Appropriate power supply? (HP Pavilion p7-1010) and this graphics card work on my computer?

I try to add a graphics card to my computer (HP Pavilion p7-1010), but before that I need to replace the power supply. I have a graphics card which is the Powercolor Radeon HD6670 800 MHZ 1 GB GDDR3. I think I need at least a power of 500 watts provided, but it's my first time replacing a power supply so I do not know how to choose.

    Graphics card:http://ncix.ca/products/?sku=63154&vpn=AX6670%201GBK3-H&manufacture=PowerColor

The Powercolor Radeon HD6670 800 MHZ 1 GB GDDR3 appears it should work on your computer. I think that the specifications of the cards require a 400 Watt power supply. Please consider the Corsair CX500, CX500M, CX600 or CX600M because they are highly recommended and are known to adapt to most HP computers class consumption of office.

  • Memory of the graphics card of Pavilion p7-1010

    Hello

Recently, I bought a desktop Pavilion p7-1010 computer has. "System information" shows that his graphics card has 1 GB for RAM adapter, however, he is supposed to have 3 GB of memory. 'Information system' also show that the CD-Rom is DVD burner, whereas it should be blue ray burner.

I wonder if my understanding of the 'party system' is right and there is a problem with the configuration of my PC.

    Hello:

Here is the link to the page of product specifications.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03054470

It lists everything you say to... Blu - ray, a video card with 3 GB of memory onboard...

You can get more information by going to Device Manager. Click the CD-ROM/DVD-ROm drives section and you will see the device listed model. If it does not say Blu - Ray in the description, google what you see here and see what happens.

You can also watch the front plate of the car and look for the blu - ray symbol.

Video... Go to control panel > system. Then go to the section of windows experience index. Look at the detailed report and it will show the memory dedicated GPU and memory system available for your video card.

  • HP Pavilion P7-1010 keeps logging out me

Recently bought a desktop HP Pavilion P7-1010, but the strangest thing is happening.

If I'm not actively engaging the computer (i.e. typing something), it disconnects me after a minute (or less, really).

The computer continues what it does, but it locks me and I have to log-in again.

I tried to adjust the security and power settings in the Control Panel, but nothing has changed.

He even said to "never" put the hard drive and monitor to sleep, but I do not think that this setting determines the issue I'm having.

Also, when it happens, I hear a beep, the login screen appears and I have to type the password again.

Does anyone know how to fix this?  It's boring say the least.

    Hello

Open windows control panel, open personalization, click on screen saver link at the bottom right and in the following windows, remove the tick from the box next to "in»the logon screen curriculum vitae  Click apply and then click OK to save the change.

    Kind regards
