dv4-1000et, fan blowing hard

I just bought the dv4-1000et, a demonstration model, but the problem is that if the book is a cpu-temperatur about 50 ° C (everest and speedfan), the fan starts to blow like loud and clear that it is not possible to watch a dvd cofortable, not at full speed, but strong and the next thing is, that it does not block blowing at that speed until I shut down the pc and wait a few moments instand of a CPU temperatur 40 ° C already.

The cooler is 99% dust free, an update of the bios to F24 does not alter, already off fan allways in bios, energy plan is State, no difference between battery or ac-source.

I appreciate all the help

* OS: Vista SP1

I am pleased to present you my final (but maybe just for the particular case) solution!

At first I have to complain about how really very long to get to the cooler, why not make a better solution, I had to disasamble the whole laptop?

How I got the idea to do? Well, I was playing cs: s, what I haven't played for about a year and my cut PC power just after about 15 min and after an another 5 min again (also the noise got even worse).

So I cleaned the duct (the last time was 5 months ago), but after 25 min, I got the same problem again.

Now, I turned on Everest and began logging files. And what I saw was not good, it's dangerous:

The GPU already was pointing down to 1400 ~ to ~ 1000, because the tjunk of 105 ° C have been met, and my CPU is at only 50 ° C.

Now the only problem is a high thermal core - Heatepipe resistance, and after about an hour of bloody work, I found my problem:

More: link

GPU down in idle ranging from 70 ° C to 50 ° C

CS drop of 105 ° to 65 °

fan down to just audible, even more time in the games!

I have no radiator trim, so I used a block heater standard, it would be a problem (due to mechanical constraints)?

Greeting of the Austria,

BlackBirdf

  • COMPUTER SHUTS DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY, BUT STAYS ON USING AN EXTERNAL FAN BLOWING INTO IT

I have HP Pavilion P6130Y desktop for a couple of years now where later it turns off after about 10 minutes of being on.  Once it turns off, it will remain only for a few seconds. The internal fans work properly.  I opened the side panel, cleaning of the computer and the dust in the fans and put a regular House external fan blowing into it.  With this fan blowing into it, the computer stays on and works perfectly.  Any know if this is related to a heating problem or is there perhaps any other question that the computer might have? If so, should what parts I replace?

    Hello

Check with HP support, their documentation online and ask in their forums known issues.

As it works with the fan added either something is too sensitive to normal even heat, or the
computer generates just on the edge of the system, or both.

    Certainly a hardware problem.

  • Fan kicks hard enough every minute on Satellite L30

    Hello

I use a laptop Satellite L30. One thing that I find annoying is that the fan is used strong enough every minute or so, then quieted down for a while. Using a temperature monitor that looks like the fan is used when the temperature exceeds about 50, then slows down when it falls. When the temperature is less than 45 fan stops in total which causes the temperature to rise quickly above 50.

I want to change power management settings so that the fan is quitely at low temperatures. I have a desktop where it is possible to change the fan settings in the BIOS, but I can't find anything like this on the laptop. Can anyone suggest where I should look - is there any open source or shareware tools that will do it?

    Hello

you already updated your bios to the latest version? If not, then hurry and check if a newer version is available, since most bios updates are correct some problems as parameters powermanagment (ACPI :)) and some other stuff.

Another idea would be to clean your system from breakdown of your machine as a fan that is clobbed with dust, doesn´t work quietly and with precision. A can of compressed air of any market e-mail does the trick. :)

  • Compaq CQ62 fan or hard drive problems?

Hi, I've had this laptop for a year now and now the fan kept making a grinding noise so I immediately turned off I always go on my laptop on my bed and have it tilted, I read somewhere you shouldn't be doing this, so I put my phone on a table and turned on when he started in fact the noise of grinding for a second and then it stopped He did it again when he got on the windows desktop, I could see dust and particles little out of air intake when it was squeaking? my mother will be angry if it breaks (when well even we like 7 other laptops in the House) theres really nothing important about this machine, well there is, but you know, we don't have enough money to fix, I am only irritable person at home, but I'm not sure on the opening of the lids and stuff? Help, please!

Try to clean the vents (air intake and exhaust ports) on your laptop.

Read This HP web and watch the video.

If after following the instructions, the noise is still present, then you have replaced the CPU fan.

  • R 52 with bluescreens, certain diagnoses already made

UPDATE: problem solved, see guide below!

    Hey guys,.

    I have a 52 R (1846 - 4CG) which shows me the following blue screen:

    Hardware malfunction
Call your provider of support material
NMI: Parity check / memory parity error
    The system stopped *.

Most blue screen initially occurred, when I watched a video flash in the browser, then he startet to happen completely randomly. I've updated the graphics driver some time before, but I do not exactly remember if the bluescreen started to showup then...

Since the software (browser, flash) reinstalling it did not and I have not found a possibility to downgrade the driver (graphics driver of esp.)

I just followed the tip in another thread and installed PFControl (to monitor the Temp and fan-activity):

    Basetemp CPU @ 62 ° C

on Videoplaying, this goes up to 80 ° C (I stopped here, could also go higher)

    Basetemp GPU @ 56 ° c.

on Videoplaying, this goes up to 65 or 70 ° C

I also uninstalled a ram module secondary, to check the weather, it's this module of ram, but the problem persisted.

Personally, I suspect the updated graphics driver...

If you arrived on this Page through Googling the error message, here's a Plan for you:

    1. If you recently updated ALL drivers or BIOS:

Use system restore to go back to the previous state: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084

OR reinstall manually the old drivers (see post below for howto)

If your update your BIOS again changes and/or report to the customer supports for a corrected version of the update.

If you manually alterd BIOS Config restore original settings

If it does not cut or is not the case:

    2. install "PFcontrol" (http://fancontrol.de/view/) and monitor the temerature of the system components.

    everything's using your thinkpad:

If there is any irregularity (CPU, GPU or MEMcontroller above 70 ° C, 65 or 60 respectively) and temperature

doesn't drop quickly after you stopped heavy loading system, even if fan blowing hard (3 or 4)

and heat sink is relatively cold all the time:

MOST likely your fan and heat sink is dirty. Remove the keyboard (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-46515.html)

    and clean them: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Problem_with_fan_noise#Cleaning_the_fan_or_removing_obstructions

It could also be nessaccary to apply for a new thermal paste, especially if your system has received a physical shock (drop a little on the tabe or similar), see

Some of the fundamental things include the pram/clock battery replacement

since they may be dead; then with a power failure, sometimes the Mac

do not restart. Usual power management unit & reset NVRAM/PRAM are

methods that sometimes also used as a troubleshooting measure.

    • Reset the Mac chip power management: (see SMU)

    http://www.thexlab.com/FAQs/resetpmchip.html

    • How to reset NVRAM-LANDAU on your Mac - Apple Support

A hard reset can sometimes be used, where the power is disconnected

the logic board and power removed from grill; Then push the Start button / stop.

(But maybe not. Several PowerMac computers, I had, some people found this helpful)

You may also remove and reposition cards and other items

the inside of the case, to be sure they are connected properly. Be sure to not

In short anything, due to the static load or residual power in the circuits.

The hour is late here, so I'm not going offline; If all goes well a battery original or novel, etc.

can help to put it on again. Also sometimes the power supply has some faulty fans,

circuits or capacitors, so they can be troublesome to repair or replace.

    Good luck in this case!

  • Satellite U840W-10J - noisy fan and the version of the bios

    Hello

    more top of the machine when you run tempro said new version of bios is available, the link to it is [Satellite U840W BIOS 6, 40 - WIN | http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory = 2 & selFamily = 2 & selSeries = 198 & selProduct = 7570 & selSh ortMod = null & language = 13 & selOS = 40 & selType = 4 & yearupl = DST & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = all Machines & search = & action = search & macId = & country = all & selectedLanguage = 13 & type = 4 & page = 1 & ID = 84640 & DISO =-1 & driverLanguage = 42]

But when I go to the bios, it says the version of bios is already 6.4 - which is strange since the release of this version of the bios date is 10/07/13. And I don't know that I don't have day of the bios for this version this month :)

Why does say new version is available?
Would be - that there's a newer version available, that only that it binds to an evil?
Even if I download and try to install it, it says that this version of the rom is the same.

Second question is noisy fan, most of the time is at very high speed (and because of the odd design, when the laptop is open, screen - which becomes really hot fan).
Since no other laptop I used make these noises, if I really need to update for the bios? But which version?

Health Monitor shows the 77% fan speed - and I'm not playing games or whatever it is, cpu is always below 10%, I m doing nothing, just a light browsing can turn up to such percentage. What I've noticed, is that it becomes this top still when HARD drive this is - like application installation, download updates, etc... I have download the latest drivers intel to drive HARD, all drivers are more recent. Or is it only noisy due to bad design (fan blowing on screen), and I can use it for heavy work and just have to ignore the noise of the fan?

Last updated driver to trackpad kills finger double scroll btw, so, maybe you guys could solve the problem too? Since I had to go back to the old version.

BTW, the machine is only two days old

I think that you should not be confused on BIOS. Maybe there is a problem with Tempro. This process runs automatically and it is possible that there is a technical problem. If you have latest BIOS is OK so Don t you worry about this. Just continue to use your laptop and don t change anything.

What about cooling fan? Cooling fan is controlled automatically and according to the temperature CPU cooling fan works more rapid or slower. When you play the games you need more performance, so use leverage plan high performance. For each day of activities, use the balanced power plan. It will reduce the CPU usage, but it will be good enough for low level activities. What you can try is to change the options for the method of cooling. You can find it in the advanced power options. It should reduce fan cooling and portable activity should run quietly.

    Play around with these options.

I have a Dell XPS 15.6 Windows 7 64 bit. It is about 3 weeks old. My laptop was on my firm stand and the fan came. When I opened it, it stays on. Also when I went to type there is a tone that did not previously exist. The fan stays on while it is open, but stop sometimes to when I close. Please any help, I'd be happy.

    Hello

Only way to really know if there is a problem is to check with a real computer (not the leeks and pics store
at a Best Buy or other department stores) or Support of Dell. Also ask in the Dell forums where others have
the same system for known issues.

Make sure that the vents are clear, so there is plenty of air circulation. Try using a small fan blowing through the vents
to see if the heat is excessive. Often, a cooling pad can help.

  • Gettting rid of the noise of the fan using compressed air

    Hello

I read in another forum (portable different) you can get rid of the fan noise by blowing hard in the exhaust of the fan!  Before trying this on my T500: the exhaust is on the left side - correct?  (It seemed imprtant to blow in the right direction).

    CREDS

Any dust/dirt came upward when you used compressed air? If so, the noise probably comes from a fan blocked upward.

  • Alienware Aurora R4. The system fan problems

    Hi, here is my story/problem...
My computer is a desktop, Alienware Aurora R4. It is less then a year old. This problem started about 5 days ago now. I called the support technique dell twice. and they don't seem to help, I got frustrated with the phone so im hoping it will work...

So here's the question: my system fan continues to operate at 4150-5000 rpm and only goes to about 1400-2200 rpm at idle. Today, it has begun to stop randomly. I watched 3 ambient temporary sensors all remaining 24-26 degrees Celsius. The PPI and the fans of hard drive are good at all about 1456 and 1089 RPM.

Initially the RPM increased while I was gaming. but it did not take long and now whenever I try to do anything he will get very hard and RPM goes crazy. Originality, my PC would be slowed to about 1200-1400 rpm and only go up to 2200-2400 RPM, where the game. its almost as if it was under high load when it is not. and its cool so I'm sure that's not over heating.

I disassembled the pc and cleaned all the fans and dust with the correct air boards. I have confirmed that everything is properly connected. When that didn't help, I found BIOS version A05 then I updated to the A07.  I ran the Dell PC Diag and it passed, the autopsy of alienware last, Ive ran several analyses of McAfee antivirus, reinstalled the Alienware command center and down the stock of dell pc - which posed problems. I paid and installed the mechanic system and fixed these issues.

The first time I called Dell tech support guy was very friendly and I have not heard his name. He did lose his time with my settings of video card (not sure why as its only the system fan connected to the wheel and the pump, that is the question) he said that he had to be updated so it updated my video card, and that's all. told me he would send me the next day to check if it worked or not. There has never been back in contact with me, and I have no e-mail address. But all that adds to the question... because since he did this update my gaming experience is terrible. I only play World of Warcraft currently. Normally, my FPS are 75 to 100 FPS and now they jump around a bit, but mostly to sit at 2-17 FPS and sometimes go to 50 FPS, if I'm not moving. So im guessing the settings it's fair question... my card is a 2 GB AMD Radeon 7870

Then, I recalled once again a day later. and the next guy was not as friendly. don't give me his name either. he wouldn't do anything, he just told me that the notes from the last call said that it was not a problem, and that it was quite normal heating. I'm sorry but my house is way cooler in the summer then it's winter and temperatures are always flat and stable. its blowing cool air and a large amount of air. He didn't listen at all.

then the next day it remains to 4150 rpm for 90% of the day instead of 60% of the day. even if im not using it. And she randomly stopped several times. from what I can find on these forums and online that is as a module fail safe mode... so obviously it is not normal!

As today is the first day it started to close I wanted to re-run the diag tests, but whenever I try, it runs for a few minutes, then the pc stops. The computer is running too slow, but this may be a different problem. I managed to get the dell diag and system mechanic to run tests, and they spent too. IM at a total loss...

The air coming from the fan system is very strong and cool so I don't think there are more heating goes on. As far as I can tell the pump works properly and all the fans are running.

This pc is less then a year old, so it is still warranty on it, as well as I, have purchased another year of warranty shortly before it started actually... And I don't want to try something else without help, because I don't want anything damage or damage my warranty coverage

I'd appreciate very much any help im at a loss to know what to do, and feel the support tech will start ignoring me if I recall more. If you can help out you can reach me at my email which is [email protected]. Or respond to this conversation.

Thank you and hope to hear from you,

    Katelin

I took out the internal fan and I do not know if it must blow into the thing, he is attached to or outside. Basically, the air should blow outwards so that the air is out of the unit.  The upper part of the fan must be turned outwards, while the underside must be oriented with the heatsink of heat or inside the case.  The image below shows the top of a 120mm fan (the side who face upward or outward).

  • Tecra M5 turn off randomly, but fans and the l.e.d remain on

First of all Hello to all,
I m new on this forum, because until now I had no problem with my laptop,
I hope that someone will be able to help with my problem,

    I have a Tecra M5 (PTM51E0N903JEN)
He has recently developed a fault where there is a slight click then the screen turns white and the fans at full speed, the led at the front will also stay on,
I only really use it on the grid with the battery inside,
without the power of the adapter to the battery lasts only about 10/15 minutes max.
the first start of the day, it can last from 10 minutes to 3 or 4 hours without freezing as cela, but after that he did once he continues to do so whenever I try to reboot or sometimes 5/10 minutes after I start windows xp,

If I play any games or anything that uses a lot of video memory, it seems to crash more quickly.

    Specs are below:

    Windows xp pro sp3,
    3 GB of ram,
    NVIDIA QUADRO NVS110M
All the drivers etc up to date,
All windows updates to day to day,

Does anyone have an idea what could cause this problem?

I also disassembled the Tecra and cleaned the fan and the heat sink as at first I thought it may be a heat problem, but it happens even after I added a desk fan blowing directly into the ventilation openings on the underside of the laptop.

The only other thing I thought that maybe the cause was the very old battery, but I've learned since you can actually use the Tecra without the battery in all with just the power supply.

I'm at loss, I hope someone can help.
    Thank you in advance,
    Bradley.

    Hello

Temperatures are ok and shouldn't t be the reason for this problem. But in my opinion, you should always clean the laptop with a jet of compressed air. This could blow the dust from the cooling fans and you don't have to disassemble the laptop. You can buy this spray of each computer store.

But it would be interesting to know the outcome of the Memtest86. Have you tried this test doesn't show an error with RAM?
