  But then I did the "Factory Reset" and it solved the problem and created the recovery Partition.

  Macrium Reflect allows cloning. Once you have a cloned partition, you can see inside the clone and recover files and folders from it. Here is a well written tutorial from the how-to Geek on the subject.

  I have a Belkin Windows Easy Transfer cable and have used it a few times. My results with Windows Easy transfer, and that is why my preference is the use of a cloning utility instead. Macrium Reflect has never failed me, and I've used dozens of times.

  HP does not currently have drivers for Windows 8. You probably won't need them. Windows 8 is not coming. It's here!

  Just do the installation on a spare hard drive and bring the original HARD drive to a safe place.

  One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

  When finished, restart the computer and let Windows load completely.  Open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

  Hey guys. I have a laptop HP Pavilion dv6-2155dx with a Intel Centrino Wireless - N 1000 wifi card. The card was to die for a long time now and about to go off completely. All other PCs and phones connect properly to the internet here, except that this laptop connects, but drops to around every 15 minutes, limited connectivity or so and I have to turn off the wifi and then turn it back on to operate for another 15 minutes.   The maintenance manual does not list a Centrino Wireless - N 1000 card. You must not only the correct chip, but he must have a part number of HP.   I have a HP Pavilion dv6 too - I came across your post (and 'Help' of Viki), because my contrast was all out of whack, too (much too bright). Adjust the gamma is nothing - but then I unplugged the power cord from the laptop, waited a second and plugged back in and voila! It's all good now. Don't know why...

  I recently updated my graphics drivers on the AMD website, which I did not know that at the time, did not fully support the laptop itself. After having done that, I had a problem with playback of videos where in certain circumstances the video would be black but audio would play again.
