  I think that all dv7s can run at least 8 GB of memory, but you must give us the full model number to see if you need DDR2 or DDR3 and so maybe you can perform 16 concerts.

  It seems likely, he is in the dv7-4000 series and uses DDR3 and tops out at 8 gigs. I can assure you that it has two memory slots under the large door on the bottom. You have probably 2 x 2 GB in there.

  I upgraded my OS from Windows 7 to Windows 10 laptop and now I get the following message:

• HP Pavilion dv7-6145eg: updated AMD drivers

  Hello!

  Some games do not run on my laptop because I have old version of the video driver. For example, they require AMD driver not older than from 2013.  I tried to update the driver AMD via site hp.com but the latest version I found it there from November 2011.

  Then I tried to put in day the driver AMD using HP Support Assistant, but he wrote me that my drivers are up to date. It is lie!  I tried to download the driver AMD amd.com

  It has detected that the latest driver for my video card is amd-catalyst-omega-14.12-with-dotnet45-win7-64bit

  So I deleted the older version of the driver and installed it again. But the new driver could not even detect my Radeon HD 6770 M card.

  Please, can anyone suggest me how to upgrade the video driver AMD?

You can download the drivers of usermade from this source: http://leshcatlabs.net/downloads_unfil/ I downloaded Catalyst 14.4 WHQL UNIFIL v2.2 and it works for me. But you must follow all of the instructions written in the help file very precisely.

I finally decided to go on my poles 2x2gb for 2 x 4 GB sticks, but it was late, I was tired and I broke accidentally one of the arms of the RAM box because I was stupid.   I read your message and understand that the DIMM slots are broken on your HP Pavilion dv7 - 1247cl. The DIMM slots are directly connected to the product system map, change the slots would require the entire system board replacement. You can find spare parts by using the guide to maintenance and after-sales service of the products in conjunction with the HP part surfer.

  The OP needs to open the memory Bay and check whether 1 or 2 modules of memory are installed and that the part (s) was/is. If a single p/n 670034-001 is installed, the system should have no problem taking another module of 8 GB, the maximum of the motherboard is rated to 16 GB. If two p/n 641369-001 modules are installed, something is fishy, as it departs the HP part Surfer information.

  Not stupid at all. Portable hard drives up to 2 TB, not because of any problem with the hardware of the laptop, just hard drive manufacturers do not have more data on a 2.5-inch disk capacity yet. You can install a 2 TB or 2 of them on your laptop. I wouldn't use an SSD as secondary drive 'slave' because you can't start it and the speed is a little lost. Your optimal configuration is the most big budget SSD drive can support in the main Bay, then a mechanical drive of 2 TB in the secondary Bay. You will need a cart and a cable for the secondary Bay and you can buy it here:

  If you look at the bottom of the newmodeus.com page, you will see the installation instructions.

  This 2 to/3 TB problem you had on the desktop has been easily solved. The drive must be set up the file system more modern TPG rather than the old system MBR schoool. You will not have this problem with a 2 TB laptop drive, but TPG system is much better than Windows 8 and higher, anyway.

• Pavilion dv7-1132nr video has stopped working

  Help! I used my Pavilion dv7-1132nr notebook, AMD Turion 64-Bit Vista with 4 meg of RAM and now I don't remember if it's a 32 bit OS or 64 bit OS, when all of a sudden the screen went white.  I hold the power button down until the system shuts down.  I turned on the desk of dinosaur to get help from HP.  I tried to reset hard... nothing.  I tried to connect another monitor... nothing.  I checked and made sure the hard RAM disk are firmly installed firmly in place, they are and... nothing.  I tried to boot in the BIOS... nothing.  I noticed a light LED to the left of the LOCK on the lid and an another dead center between the buttons of END & PREVIOUS PAGE, at the top of the keys numerber blink, blinking off the coast, Flash on then blink off the coast.  I saw a Favorites for the LED, but I can't know what exactly they're supposed to be telling me.  Please tell me that my screen is not already toast? If I missed something as much as self tests that I can carry from here to the House, I'd love to hear about them.  Thanks for the help, I hope?
