Pavilion dv7-1132nr video has stopped working

Help! I used my Pavilion dv7-1132nr notebook, AMD Turion 64-Bit Vista with 4 meg of RAM and now I don't remember if it's a 32 bit OS or 64 bit OS, when all of a sudden the screen went white.  I hold the power button down until the system shuts down.  I turned on the desk of dinosaur to get help from HP.  I tried to reset hard... nothing.  I tried to connect another monitor... nothing.  I checked and made sure the hard RAM disk are firmly installed firmly in place, they are and... nothing.  I tried to boot in the BIOS... nothing.  I noticed a light LED to the left of the LOCK on the lid and an another dead center between the buttons of END & PREVIOUS PAGE, at the top of the keys numerber blink, blinking off the coast, Flash on then blink off the coast.  I saw a Favorites for the LED, but I can't know what exactly they're supposed to be telling me.  Please tell me that my screen is not already toast? If I missed something as much as self tests that I can carry from here to the House, I'd love to hear about them.  Thanks for the help, I hope?

Kind regards

Hello

Unfortunately, I used to play Rugby, so I not only have big hands but have several fingers broken during this time so that they are that agile

It seems, from your experience, you will be able to replace the processor yourself.  The list of compatible processors and the replacement procedure begins on Page 109 of your & Maintenance Guide.

"Where you go, there you are."

    Hi Mikey,

Looks like you're running the Digital Persona of SimplePass flavor.

Two things to consider / try, in order.

If the reset works, you don't have to reinstall the driver...

    • Hard reset
    • Reinstall the driver

    Hard Reset:

Sometimes, all you need to do is the computer suddenly.  This method works for a variety of connection and "glued" program issues.

    • Disconnect all the external devices first.
    • Remove the AC power and battery
    • Press and hold the power button while in the minus 30 seconds
    • Reinstall the power supply for the first start only * see Note
    • Power on - connect
    • Next time you shut down the system, replace the battery.

    * Note: You can ignore the little battery aside.  If you wish, replace the battery the first time and do it with her.

    • Install the validity sensor Driver installation package: it if called sp*.exe - the package will be most likely located in the downloads folder.  If you have control of "Admin", you can highlight the package and "double-click on ' to install it, otherwise just right-click, select"Run as Administrator"and install.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 6b51ea: GPU stuck at Intel, AMD GPU has stopped working

    A year ago, I received a notification of the CCC AMD the driver update and did. Since then, the 7400 m has stopped working and still did not so after;

    (a) rolling back drivers

    (b) reinstall the drivers from the HP website

    (c) using the system to factory settings restore

After some research I found that the discrete GPU in HP laptops only works with the drivers offered by HP, but those who fail to solve the problem of too.

I put Powerplay use Max Performance and even tried to disable ULPS, which of course failed because the system is locked ' dynamic single setting.

Active power plan still shows as powerful, but it's the GPU integrated in use, not dedicated

Also recently upgraded to Windows 10, had no problems but GPU problem remains

AMD Catalyst Control Center poster always I have 7400M and hardware of MSI Afterburner monitoring shows his temperature to 45 c but 0% use of the GPU.

When running games that allowed, with Powerplay can jump on the 7400 M, still work on the weak integrated Intel graphics.

    HP Pavilion dv7-6b51ea

    Appreciate the help.

Thanks for your help, very much appreciated a response.

Assuming that I am in a bind.

HP should not make laptops for gamers or those who buy specifically for the use of the dedicated GPU, if they cannot upgrade their GPU drivers dedicated by the manufacturer of this GPU IMO.

Sister with a DV6 bought with my DV7 (2012) was lucky, I tried the update before she accepted AMD update notification

Guess I will gift to a parent who does not require the dedicated GPU and I'll have to make sure my next laptop supports the amd/nvidia driver unlike HP updates of course

  • Office Pavilion Elite HPE message: AMD/ATI Video Driver has stopped working properly

I have a Windows 7 Desktop HPE-410y, this morning, that the flag of the action center was at the bottom of the screen.  I clicked on it and there was a message: AMD/ATI Video Driver has stopped working properly.  He also said I should click on a link for a solution to this problem, but of course when I made the site of HP said that the page does not exist.

Maybe say if you have in fact noticed nothing else Action Center indicator would be useful.  If it seems to you that the computer was OK and run satisfactorly, then perhaps he had already solved the problem.  Usually reviews can occur if a program did unexpected things and crashed the video driver, then the driver recovered.

HP site can be set to an old page.  The real driver has not been updated recently on the HP site.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6c52ea all HP software has stopped working...

Hi recentally purchased my DV7 (in the last two weeks), everything began to work very well and was incredibly fast. Then a week ago I noticed that he began to take a few minuets after loading office before it would work at normal speed. I have it linked to the HP connection manager, because it works run normally after the tab appears in the lower right.

I decided to try and Manager of open connections, and all that happens is my processor jumps from 2% to ~ 15%, but no charge screen. Stays any computer in this state until I have completed the process in the Task Manager or you restart the computer. Since then, I realized this problem occurs with all HP (especially coolsence) software.

Any ideas? I thought of all their software to uninstall and reinstall, but it could find on their website. Also, I tried already restotre system to the closest, which did nothing.

Anyway, tahnks to help in advance,

    Niccy.d

PS also do not know if this is related, but having a simular problem where the host appilication says catalyst control center has stopped working. Best solution I've found for that is just to remove the CCC, as it doesn't seem to be necessary. Thanks again

OK, I gave up in the end and used the inbuild factory restore...

everything seems to work fine now, just lost some of my files, but I can those back. First thing that I'll do this time, is to create a backup disk.

Thanks for the suggestions, guess we may never know what was wrong

How can I find my model number or product number?

I understand that since you had the laptop he had an overheating problem with a loud fan noise that causes freeze it.

Recently, you have received the message that the CPU fan has stopped working and you couldn't hear the rotation of the fan to the top.

You have removed the fan and checked, but the fan works.  It is possible that the connection was not safe in Notepad.

Have you checked for an update of the bios of your laptop. You have provided the series of laptop you have, but not the exact model, so I'm not able to check it for you.

I have to go into the program to find the video. I didn't know that there was a Media Player 2. Would it not be better to download another drive to use? If so which do you recommend?

    Hi Dave,.

    1. What is the format of the video you are trying to play?

2 are you facing this problem only with a particular video file?

    3. have you made changes to your computer recently?

I suggest to follow the link and run Microsoft fix - it and check if that helps.
