Dv7-3008tx WIFI cards

Hello

I have the laptop above and the WIFI card now it's an Intel WIFI 5100 AGN. I want to improve this AC wireless card that is using the Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 7260 map.

However, HP locks the BIOS prevents me to install this type of card is to say that I get a not 104 supported wireless card message. System stopped.

Surely, I wouldn't buy a new laptop just to be able to update a wireless card!

Michael.

Hi, try this BIOS:

or

Try this manual. My old DV6 had exactly same chipset:

    Hello

DV7-7000 Intel based models of the series is no longer the white list. I think that AMD laptops don't have it too because some people have tried Intel 7260AC on AMD machines and it sort of work. It caused problems, but the system did not reject the incompatible card. I would use any card decent AC, but not Intel.

  • Replace the computer wifi card notebook dv7-7212nr

Hello, I am aware that HP uses a 'white list' in the bios to prevent the upgrade of some hardware. It is my understanding that HP put an end to this practice.

My question has to do with when they abandoned this practice I want to upgrade my laptop wifi card dv7-7212nr want to 2012. The bios of my laptop includes the code of white list? Does anyone know when HP officially stopped using white list in their bios?

    Thank you!

Yes, the BIOS of your laptop includes a white list. HP has ceased to put it on the new laptops on time of the year graces last on assembled laptops that later, but the withdrawal from the whitelist was not retroactive. If it was there when your laptop was new, it is still there.

    You are the very welcome.

You can view the manual on the link below and in Chapter 3, you will find a list of parts shown with all the components, you can buy with HP part numbers.

To buy a part, you can enter the part # in the site below in the appropriate box.

When you see the available wireless cards, card dual band you see is only for laptops equipped with Intel processors - and it is not serious, as the part number of this card is incorrect and no one knows which is the right one.

Change a wireless card in a HP consumer notebook is nothing less that a nighmare due to the blocking of all BIOS maps are not not in the service manual for the specific model laptop.

I want this card to a card update... but "Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260" I read on a white list of wifi on hp computers.

WiFi cards themselves also have their own chipset that blocks cannot be used or Exchange to other laptops, unless it corresponds to their chipset so doing is something that you may make.

  • Pavilion dv7-4180us: dv7-4180us wifi upgrade

My dv7-4180us has a Broadcom Minipci wifi card bgn and gets only 72 Mbps on my home network. I am running agn + ac on my network. I understand that the wifi options are limited by the white list in the BIOS. I've probably lap by going with a USB adapter, but I would have preferred an intern. I have a Dell E6500 with Intel Centrino 5100 card that connects to 150-200 Mbit/s and I would be happy with this speed on the dv7. Which wifi compatible cards for my dv7 will give you the best performance of wifi? I was going to get the Intel Centrino 1000, but it tops out at 150 Mbps, which is also claimed max for the Broadcom card I already have.

In fact, my computer BIOS is dated in 2011.

Looks like my best bet is one of them:

    Intel Centrino 1000 802.11b/g/n WLAN module 593530-001

    4322 Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN module 582564-001

The two are alleged to be 802.11n MIMO 1 x 2 with connection speed up to 300 Mbps.

I just bought the Intel 1000 for $6.00 + free shipping. DV7-4000 series system a traction. Even if this does not work I am not much.

    Thanks for the reply.

  • Someone else has an iPhone 6 with a faulty wifi card?

I had problems with the wifi connection on my iPhone 6 during some time now. The phone constantly drops the connection wifi, carries a low when connected connection and force me to be right next to the router in order to make a connection. I first contacted apple to this topic on December 2015 (2 months after my 1 year warranty) they got to toggle flight mode, toggle the wifi button, reset the network settings, reset the phone completely back to factory settings... I did everything several times and the problem is still there.  I was told by a couple of reps on the phone to take the phone to an Apple Store and ask them to help me... So I took the 2-hour drive to the Apple store nearest to say that the phone has a faulty wifi card and it is not repairable. He said the phone had to be replaced, but I was out of the warranty period and I have to pay $299.00 more taxes for a replacement...

Does anyone else have this problem? I'm quite shocked that apple refuses to fix it which is at their end in the form of a defective unit. I understand that it is out of warranty, but it is a problem of manufacturig. These phone cost US $300 more our old phone. I am not able to drop $300 + on a new phone that I feel that apple should be responsible. I have been looking online similar questions and have not yet find something.

Millions of this model were sold. It is likely that someone else has had a problem with their WiFi card.

I think you don't understand quite what than a guarantee. It covers all defects or failures of discovered components during the warranty period. If the phone has a two year warranty (as it would have if you had paid for AppleCare +) you would still be covered. But, if the WiFi card failed after 26 months, it would not be covered. As you are now about six months outside of your warranty, I don't know why you would expect Apple to cover a problem that you don't yet report to them until after that the guarantee was already more. You just wait for Apple to cover the failure of a component for as long as you have the phone?

    It works on my laptop?

    Hello

Your machine was built before 2014 mid, the opportunity to upgrade to any wireless card outside of the following list is very thin:

Support for the following formats of WLAN:
    ● Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11bgn adapter Wi - Fi 1 x 1
    ● RT3290LE of Ralink 802.11bgn 1 x 1 Wi - Fi + 4.0 BT Combo adapter

    ● Intel-N 7260BN 802.11 bgn 2 x 2 WiFi + BT 4.0 module combo adapter WLAN WIDI support
    ● AR9485 of Qualcomm Atheros adapter Wi - Fi 1 x 1 802.11bgn
    Intel Smart Connect technology 4.1

  • Satellite P850 - new WIFI card cannot be turned on

I have a Satellite P850 with i7cpu and 16 GB of ram running win 7 Home premium.

The wifi card seems to abandon and that it is a realtek, without the support of their site, not even the drivers. I decided to exchange the and installed an Intel centrino advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 dual band mini wifi card that I finally got all the drivers installed, but the diagnosis intel continues to ask the mechanical switch for wifi. I tried F12 and FN keys, but nothing happens.

Any ideas on how to get this on?

In my opinion, there is compatibility problem. These upgrades or equipment Exchange is not supported. Laptop computers are offered with the specific hardware platform and Toshiba tools and utilities are designed for certain hardware platform.

Sorry, but I think that there is nothing you can do about it.
Replacement with the same card is not problematic.

One of the options I'm considering is Intel AC 7265 (HP part no 793840-005) that comes standard in the variant of other Envy 13 sold elsewhere.

Newer that I am wanting to NGFF Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 (8260NGW)is another model.

Can anyone tell if there are fears white list on the question if these cards above would work on my laptop?

Should I get the AC7265, I get the part specific HP itself or the Intel will do?

    Thanks in advance guys!

    Hugo

You can safely assume that any HP laptop with a 4th generation Intel Core processor or newer has no whitelist wireless and yours is 6th generation if you are safely beyond the question of the white list. However, the real problem comes another question HP Wireless: the single antenna module, which is now installed in most HP laptops. Most of the 1 x 1 b/g/n modules have only a single antenna that makes it impossible to get to something that works in the 5 GHz band.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See p. 31. The manual shows 2 antennas and I hope that's right but the only way to be sure is to open and just look. If you see a single antenna wireless, I shut up and look for a usb dongle that is compatible with 802.11ac. Or prepare for a complete teardown add a second antenna.

The AC 7265 is good enough, if you have two antennas to support.

You also might as well get the variant of HP that HP has a big enough market share that are still lacking these autour and they do not cost more:

  • Envy 15-j104el: updated NETWORK WiFi card and RAM update

    Goodmorning to everyone

I write this post to ask for information on the possibility to do an upgrade of hardware on my HP Envy 15-j104elsystem.

    That's what I would do:

-Replace the network card (NIC) to a wireless better and possibly with a compatible AC NIC.

-Update to 16 GB of ram, put benches with CL9 SODIMM

The questions that I want to bring to your attention are:

-There is a 'white list' for the wifi card on my BIOS (actually F66)?
(consultation with the service manual there are little NIC OEM selled, y at - it ONLY compatible?)

-Put the sticks of ram CL9 (instead of CL11 currently OEM mounted), I can inprove the overall performance?

    I want to install are:

    -Intel Wireless-AC 7260 more Bluethoot HMC 4.0

    -Kingston HyperX Impact DDR3L 16 GB (2x8gb) SODIMM 1600 Mhz CL9 (Kit)

According to your experiences, is it compatible? I can buy them without any problem?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me. Thanks for your suggestions

In particular, I take this opportunity to greet and also need the help of my friend @visruth ;)

    1. no whitelist. Your laptop was conducted after HP stopped using a white list so that you can install any card with the right form factor and the number of antennas. The Intel 7260 card should work.

    2. you can install the CL9 memory but it will not do anything all run faster. The motherboard is made to operate at the speed of the OEM memory so the Kingston Hyper-X will work, but the specifications of it in operation will be the same as memory OEM.
