DV7-4060US screen distorted after 1 or 2 minutes

I have a DV7-4060US who just started acting very strange. After a minute or two, the graphics go all weird. Sometimes, you can still see windows, but there are strange box type blocks that appear in the display. The image and strange boxes are also present when I have an external monitor on as well. So, I tried several things to solve the problem with no luck.

1. I replaced the hard drive with another that starts with windows and made exactly the same thing. (I simply upgrade the hard drive internal to a DDI and the problem occurs with the player.)

2 removed the RAM chips (2 x 2 GB chips) and it don't beep solid on the post, then when I put 1 back, (or the other I tested it this way at a time), then the display does the same things again, with a ram chip.

3 removed the wireless card and tried. (same question)

4. all removed from the PC and cleaned the fan completely and reassembled. No luck - same question.

5. deleted the card system (615687-001) and pulled the heat sync it completely and cleaned all the heat sync paste from it. Then, I reapplied new paste and reassembled everything. -Still no luck.

So here is my question - I'm torn as to time, I have a problem of System Board (615687-001) or (594168-001) processor problem. Part of me is leaning toward the issue of the Board of Directors system because there are more components failed (the luck of the draw on things more as the question on the processor), but there is a nagging me who think that problems with the screen can be related to a processor overheating that has been damaged and now when it is about 1-2 minutes then goes all wobbly. Remember, once he went weird, then it won't start and starts from a pure white. When it does this, then there are times that if let him us stay on the white screen, it will go eventually to a normal screen and be waiting for select us the option "start windows normally".

Someone out there with other thoughts for me to try?

Sounds like the system of Council-more precisely the graphics chip. There has been some who arrive to overcome - at least for a while - the failure of gpu to reinvest the gpu chip. There are many tutorials on the internet and youtube to reinvest...

    > Where can I get some old drivers for the ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600, I can install without starting windows?

Please don t get me wrong, but I think you're on the wrong track.
(Graphics card, LAN, etc.) device drivers must be installed in the currently running system (i.e: Windows OS, etc.)

I m sure; pilot isn t the problem if nothing is visible on the screen.

First of all, I would recommend you to connect the laptop to an external monitor/screen just to see if something would be visible on the screen 2.

But just a question: have you tried to start Notepad using a boot disk (windows installation disc, the disc recovery Toshiba or similar?).
Maybe the Windows system is confusing upward and therefore, you are not able to start the system? In my opinion, you should test this option.

  • Satellite Z830 - screen cracked after 4 months

    I bought my Z830 in July 2012.
While I liked using the computer, the screen cracked after 4 months of normal use.

I had to deal with the computer slowly and have always used a bag of ice and computer when they travel with him. The crack occurred while the computer had been sitting on a desk for about 2 months.

I had about 10 Toshiba computers laptops/notebooks over the past 15 years and have never had a cracked screen before.

It seems that a cracked screen is not covered by warranty Toshiba, so it is very disappointing.

I would be very interested to know how many others have had this experience with the Z830.

  • Pavilion dv7 4060us: dv7 4060us graphics driver under Win 10

I may be beating a dead here horse I did a bit of research on this issue, but I thought I would try once more on the HP forums.

I have a good Pavilion dv7 4060us I use to transport my QuickBooks files and inventory with me at the customer site, or when I'm away from the office. I bought it in 2010-2011 because of its performance and price point. The fact that it is a mobile entertainment isn't really the problem. By that I mean I played a DVD or two on it, but that is not its primary mission.

Having said all that, I, as a Microsoft Insider (aren't we all?) I tried Win 10 since last October. I have five other computers in my company to update to Win 10 very well. Desktop computers.

But, and I knew better, I leave my dv7 update win 10 home (Win 7 Home) update the graphics drivers under Win 10 HP, even tho ' the review date seems to be August 5 (or 8) 2015, seems to not work. The laptop uses generic LCD drivers from Microsoft. Not the end of the world, but I wonder if anyone has found a way to resolve this display problem. I see that wil HP does not support for this combination hybrid AMD card (5650/4250 HD). I used the Compatibility Mode in the past with some success. In any case, this post was long enough... I can roll it back to Win 7 Home, but I really don't like the appearance of this computer entertainment.

Any thoughts, or should I just shut up and go away?

    Thank you, DD

I appreciate your concern for my situation, thank you. I did all of this, including finding a compatible driver supposedly this material on the website of AMD. When I looked at AMD site this month / last month, they said that they will not only support the material under Win 10 (said the same HP, actually, but I'm stubborn). Imagine my surprise when I found that the site would allow me to download a driver today for the HD 5650/4200 under Win 10 64-bit. But it doesn't install properly, be and gives me the same dialog box: No. AMC graphics driver is currently installed or it is not working properly.

Maybe I'm not fluent in the AMD/ATI products and update I'm with nVidia graphics, I use in my other machines without any problem.

In any case, I thank everybody help, but I spent too much time on this question; I'm done. I can use the 4060 as it is. Former systems engineer, I felt sure I could fix it but apparently not. In any case, no worries and thank you!

    Kind regards

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question on your HP ENVY m6 Sleekbook and issues with a screen flashing after an update.

Here is a link to put the laptop in Safe Mode. This occurs in safe mode?

You can try to use the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows 10.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!

Here is a document that shows how update the drivers that do not work correctly with Windows 10.

If this did not help, you need to reinstall the operating system.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello

No saving necessary data and re-installing Windows Vista might be the best option, but here
    are a few others.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

A method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure) is CTRL +.
ALT + DELETE - Manager tasks and tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - and then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is available by
repeatedly tapping F8 as you start. CTRL + SHIFT + ESC also begins the Task Manager.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.
That there is no information on a black screen as it is on a blue screen just adds to the
Difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect. You can try a
Google to see the proposed repairs, whom some have worked however these cover a wide
    field efforts.

Here's a video of one of them.

    Here's another fix
    http://blogs.PCMag.com/SecurityWatch/2008/12/the_mysterious_black_screen_of.php

You have a Vista disk? You can try restoring the system to it. If you don't have the disks your
system manufacturer will sell them at low prices. Or try in safe mode if you can get there.

You can create a recovery disc or use someone even version (making the system restore it)
    must be bootable).

These require the correct Vista discs since you can not start safe mode.

If necessary and you can access all ordinary Windows.

You can try an In-Place Upgrade (hopefully save programs and data) or a repair installation
(if all goes well, the data records and need to reinstall programs). Be sure to do a good backup or three.

You can use another DVD that aren't copy protected but you you need to own
    Product key.

    On-site upgrade
    http://vistasupport.MVPs.org/repair_a_vista_installation_using_the_upgrade_option_of_the_vista_dvd.htm

If nothing works, you can make a repair facility that must save the data but you will need to
Reinstall the programs. This also requires correct Vista disks especially for OEM versions. You will be

  • Blue screen continues after the recent Windows updates - Update configuration 3 of 3 0%

original title: blue screen continues after the latest updates of Windows

Last Thursday while I was at work, an automatic update downloaded on my computer.  When I got home, the blue screen has increased and said "update configuration".  3/3.  0%.  Do not turn off your computer.  Well, keep the computer restarts and the same screen appears.  Over and over again.  At least 40 times.  Finally, I turned the computer off and when I turned it on... I hit 'f-11' and performed a scan on everything and everything was ok.  Then I did a system restore point to before last week and he ran.  When the computer is started again, the same "update configuration" screen always shows!  How to do the work to turn back normally?
