• Wireless does not work on Satellite A40-151

  Hi I have a laptop Toshiba SA40-151 model no PSA40E-OCQ1E-EN.
  I just installed my new internet modem orange live box and am currently using the LAN connection cable. However, the box is cabable wireless and I want to get wireless laptop too.

  I followed the instructions provided by orange and have used the key Fn and F8 to try to turn on the wireless on the laptop, but it doesn't seem to work, IE it does not pick up the orange live box even when it's the pairing mode.

  Two questions, my laptop has the centrino technology, it should be ready wireless at the mo, and if so what am I doing wrong?

  I tried to use the Wi - Fi Connection Wizard and it gives me the possibility to use a USB flash drive (which I did not) or to configure each device manually, how that novice computer here!

  Please check in Device Manager if the wireless network adapter has been installed. Additional you can check on the bottom of the unit if the WLan label exists. If it doesn't exist, so I guess that your laptop is no WLan and so you can not connect to the live box.

  Satellite P100-194 (Win XP MCE, Bios-Version 2.20)

  Given that excessive vibration of the drive DVD-Multi-with some of my DVDs and CDs, I would not use the acoustic silencer, but West no difference between Silent Mode and Normal Mode.

  I tried to reinstall the silent acoustic tool, without success. As this problem starts to get really annoying, any help would be appreciated.

  I think that acoustic silencer simply limited the rate at which information can be obtained on CD/DVD in order to prevent the rotation high speed that can sometimes occur when extracting the CD or the DVD to the hard drive. If you're just watching DVDs (or listening to CD, by the way) then the speed of the drive will be not particularly high because once the buffer is full so there is no need to read more data from the disc itself. If you look at the car LED, you'll see that it only lights intermittently ever.

  The speed of the drive will decrease during playback, as the laser reads information from the outer part of the disc surface.

  The presence of noise and vibration normally indicates that the disk is "eccentric" or is not set centrally in the reader, and this may indicate a possible problem with the clamping mechanism itself. However, it is always worth checking that the center hole of the disc itself has no Burr or pieces of materila which he would lift off, and it is also useful to check if the label of the disc (assuming that it is a type of stick on paper) is properly attached and has no loops or bubbles in it since this may also cause noise of air.

  I have the experience of a couple of game of CD-ROM discs that cause a lot of noise and vibrations in my book and recording, I found that the central hole was slightly shifted.

• I have a Blu - Ray player that does not work.

  My DVD/CD drive does not work in Windows 8 Professional with or without data or audio in it. However, if I turn off the PC with a bootable CD/DVD in there, the PC recognize the media and initiate the CD when turned on. This confirms that the DVD/CD drive actually works, but for some stupid reason, Microsoft Windows 8 Professional will not recognize the same DVD/CD player it loaded since! Thanks again Microsoft for another product of shit. Now, how are you going to fix this? And how are we supposed to run things such as WordPad or paint, etc. I predict that Windows 8 will fall faster than Windows Me!

  To fix it, simply remove your old library files. Then have Windows Media Player find your new files. It will not destroy your music files.

  How to get WMP to re - index your music:

  1. close Microsoft Media Player.
  2. click on Start and then run
  3. in the box, type the following:
  [list] %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player

  4. click on OK and a folder containing your library files will be displayed
  5. delete all files ending with .wmdb
  6. open Microsoft Media Player
  7. press F3
  8. Select the addresses of your music files
  9 WMP will re-index your music.

  There are three things you can do.

  * Stick with WMP11, re - download the file and re-install on top of himself. Who can fix whatever your problem.
