DVD - ROM SD-R2122 - cannot burn more
I used this cd burner until 2 weeks ago. It doesn't seem to work properly. I can't burn more... I used Variuos software to burn different error messages... (Nero 6, Sunface ' drop) etc. Someone told me to update firmware...
Is this good?
Hello
I think firmware is not a panacea for everything. It is also possible that your drive is defective. In this case firmware will not help you.
Can the drive read CDs or DVDs?

Toshiba DVD - ROM SD-M1612 cannot read a burned disc
Hello
I have a problem. I wonder if anyone can help please.
I tried to view a DVD-R on my pc using my dvd player which is a Toshiba DVD - ROM SD-M1612, but it keeps giving me the same error message:
Windows cannot read from the disk, it is may be corrupted or in a format that windows recognizes. The disc was burned on another computer and plays very well on this and on a normal dvd player, so I excluded that the disc is damaged.
After talking to some people, they suggested me update called firmware?
I looked at this and can't find it anywhere on Toshibas support or downloads pages feel like looking for a needle in a haystack :)I have provided this figure as it apparently is the firmware that is currently installed on the pc.
I wonder if anyone knows where I can get the current version and if it will help me perhaps discovered the burned DVD-R.

Hello
Sometimes this happens to me also, and to be honest it's nothing unusual.
All CD or DVD is supported by the CD/DVD drive.
I put t know what laptop you have, but in most cases the user's Guide provides information and details on the mids compatible and taken in charge.I ve experience with TDK CD and DVDs and I convinced Mr. I ve tired different CDs and DVDs from various manufacturers and all were not entirely compatible.
The update of the firmware is not always a solution, but it is sometimes useful to improve compatibility. The update of the firmware can be downloaded from the Assembly of the computer.
It seems that Toshiba provides updates of the firmware for the series of notebook clean on the European driver Toshiba page.To cut a long story short, try a few different CD or DVD from different manufacturers and check what support is no longer supported.
Good bye

CARPET * a DVD-RAM UJ - 841S: cannot burn DVD/CD more
Hey people,
I have a problem with my DVD/CD drive, I can't burn files more. My CARPET * a DVD-RAM UJ - 841S can always install things of CD and erase DVD/cd but I can't burn more.
Anyone know how I can fix this problem?cordially Egbert
To me, it seems that the lens of the drive can not calibrate correctly
The bed or write drive before the middle of the lens is calibrated in the right position.
If it fails, the drive is not able to manage the CD or the DVD.Usually nothing help to wait for disc replacement
Oh wait maybe a cleaning the lens help
You can try to clean the lens. You can use a lint cloth -
Adding second DVD - Rom SATA HP Pavilion with only 2 SATA power connectors.
Try to add a second SATA DVD Rom but do not see more SATA power connectors? I tried to discuss with Tech, desperate! Don't understand. The system came with a SATA hard drive and a SATA DVD/BlueRay so both SATA power connectors are used. I do not see another SATA power connector in the system, but there are at least 2 connectors SATA DATA more on the system board. You can even add the old style DVD of as the connectors on the system board do not exsist for the old style DVD ROM. What they do a converter to SATA power adapter or am I missing something? Strange.
If there is not a spare SATA power connection, maybe sometjhing like this would help:

Satellite M45-S169 - Sonic v.7.31 cannot burn DVDs more
I am using a v.7.31 Sonic Record now prepackaged on my Satellite M45-S169 for three years now.
I was able to copy DVDs using this software.
Until recently, it burns more. What's most frustrating is that space of memory on a blank dvd just exhausted once I try to burn dvd on cd files.

Hello
Have you tried to delete upper and lower filters in the registry of the Windows operating system?
Isn't it? Try this:
Completely remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters from the following registry key values:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}Also I would not recommend trying the other and different discs (CD and DVD) from different manufacturers.
But of course it could also be a hardware problem. I mean the discs of the laser lens has stopped working properly due to mechanical stress. -

Hello!
You can burn discs using another program Nero for example or this only happens with alcohol?
In your case, I would try to remove the upper and lower filters in the Windows registry. Normally this does not solve the problems with the CD/DVD drive. Just follow the steps described in this workaround from Microsoft:

Cannot find my dvd - rom on laptop drive.
I have windows vista on my laptop and I have a dvd - rom drive that used to work, now, he's not even appear on the computer. How can I reinstall the drive?
Hello
Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
below.
Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser. Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.===============================
Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD

do it right.Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are

Satellite Pro M30 - cannot burn CD/DVDs
Hello!
Since I got my machine, I was not able to burn CDs or DVDs either. I get a 'power calibration error' that normally I guess means the disc broke. But, because it is a whole new drive (less then a month) and it can read all CD and DVD I throw at it, I doubt that it's a hardware problem. After a few minutes of Googling, I came across a thread made by other people encounter the same problem with this same drive (Mat * a UJ - 820 s), but no good solution (at least none that worked for me).
Here is a log from Nero (6.6.0.1 (also tried older versions)). I hope this is of some use, because this is getting very frustrating... Thank you.

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\AllocateCDROMs: 0 (Security Option)Here's how I just fixed my misfortunes:
In short: go to controller - device manager and select IDE ATA/ATAPI: try to change only "PIO" mode instead of "Ultra DMA Mode" on the IDE channel that uses your DVD player, namely the secondary IDE channel (since 1 is probably your drive). It should say "Location 1" on the tab where the reader is NOT zero.
Ultra-DMA is obviously more recent and faster and better, but I think that it infiltrates the specified performance of the PIO-mode. It took me about 10 minutes to write about 3 gigs.
(1) uninstall manually each device driver that seemed even remotely connected to the "Mat * one" or "DVD" or "CD" INCLUDING "Standard dual channel PCI IDE Controller" and "secondary IDE channel".
(2) to ensure a hard reboot (power off)
(3) Windows to automatically detect any material it appears after reboot begins
(4) one of these elements has been the "secondary IDE channel"... or in any case... go to Panel of-> system-> hardware: secondary IDE channel.
b change of "Ultra DMA mode" "PIO" mode only(5) go to control panel-> hardware-> device-> IDE ATA controllers Manager / ATAPI-> secondary IDE channel: Transfer Mode = "PIO only" to ensure that this relocation, you just live kept this adjustment, otherwise set it as such and again, DO NOT change your "location 0" define, show your secondary ide channel tab should say "location 1". "
(5) - hard reboot again
(6) the system should come in and automatically detect your CD-ROM / DVD-ROM / Optical Drive / DVD - RAM drive both at the next reboot.
It should then work.

Satellite L30-113 - cannot burn CDs or DVDs
I have a Satellite L30-113. Recently my driver failed for my dvd player, until I was able to install a few things and burn CDs and DVDs. Now, I can't record CDs or DVDs.
Nero and CDBurnerXP for CD/DVD ROM say 'cannot continue burning process as you did not choose the device for recording. CD/DVD ROM propities shows that it does not support recording CDs and DVDs.
I uninstalled the driver and restarted my computer and it reinstalled the same as that which does not once again. I am a driver update search and xp tells me that the driver is up-to-date. I checked the Toshiba updates with none of these updates for CD/DVD ROM.
I have no idea on how to fix this unit "corrupted".Hi mate,
I had a similar problem on my Toshiba laptop. So here, I searched a little bin forum and I founded to delete upper and lower filters in the registry. I followed the instructions in this Microsoft article:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314060After that, I again was able to burn DVDs.
In addition, updated driver from CD/DVD isn't necessary because this driver is part of the operating system.

Satellite P20: Device DVD Player reads only the DVD but cannot burn CD & DVD
Hello
I have a toshiba P20, and I'm having a lot of problems with it. One of them is my DVD UJ811. I don't really know what is happening, the drive was already replaced and a few weeks later, it was exactly like the front, and the service provider made me pay almost 70EUR for a budget of 400EUR rejected.
I would like to know what really should do, I can't read the CD and I can not burn CD/DVDs, I can just read DVDs, nothing else.
I have seen some forums on the net, too many people in the world has the same problem I have and I really need to know what is the best solution for me.
Thank youHello Rafael
I'm very surprised by your post it here because I've used Satellite P20-303 (a red) about two years. Laptop is now used by my brother and it works perfectly. I don't really know what problems you have, but I never noticed anything suspicious. Up to now I removed the cooling Grill on the bottom twice to clean the unit, and that's all. After that laptop computer cleanup runs a lot more quiet then before.
Back to ad: I have to be honest and say that I traded with TEAC DV - W22E DVD - rom. original drive was DVD - RW and TEAC DV-W22E DVD-RAM. My brother use it pretty extensively, but until now there is no problem at all.
I don't really know what the service is doing, but if possible replace the drive TEAC one. I can tell you with certainty, it works very well. Moreover, according to the description of your problem, I am sure that the drive is faulty.
You can replace one. It's very simple to do. -
Satellite L500 - cannot run the DVD-ROM games
I am currently having problems with my Toshiba Satellite L500 series. The problem is, I can run purchased audio CD, as well as DVDs of the films, but I can't run games DVDrom. Music CD will automatically start Media Player very well, as well as films in their corresponding players... Games (like Dragon Age Origins and Left 4 Dead) DVD - ROM cannot read, or be recognized. When I go to "Computer" and try to access the game, it says "no available disk. Please insert disc into drive D: ". So from what I understand, the CD/DVD-rom may not be completely broken if he reads all types, except for games to DVDrom.
Can someone help me with this please! It is quite frustrating because my computer is just now to a year! I wouldn't think that all computer companies sell computers that fall apart after a year... I was hoping that it was different with Toshiba.
Once more, the CD/DVD-ROM can read CD and DVD of the film, but NOT the games to DVDrom. Help, please! Thanks in advance!
Hi adecker,.
Maybe it s caused due the upper and lower filters in the registry. You should try to remove as you can read in this article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314060I had a similar problem that some discs can't be read more. And I went thorugh based forum to clean the CD/DVD drive lens with a microfibre cloth. Be careful if you do this and don't scratch the lens.

CD-ROM/DVD-rom cannot read CD - Rs (data or software)
Antivirus: Optus (australian) Security
No anti-spyware and any third-party firewall
CD/DVD-Rom: 20 x LG GSA-H55N
Since this CD-ROM/DVD-rom + 3 years now and used to burn/read CD - r. Since last year, he was not able to read or burn to CD - r (data, audio, old games, software installation CD). Burning & playback on DVD - r work (with a few issues). On a previous thread, Chaos_Edit suggested to find the CD-ROM/DVD-rom by Control Panel/Device Manager - DVD/CD-ROM-rom and perform a restart on it. Unfortunately, there was no Device Manager on my account control panel and can't find the file on my computer. Any positive HELP is gladly appreciated. Thank you
First of all, download your correct terminology. DVD-ROM (or CD-ROM) is the types of compact discs for read-only. What you have is a 'internal 20 X Super multi DVD Writer'.
DVD/CD burners use lasers for CD and DVD. It is not rare to fail in front of the other. Otherwise said, simply because your device can read and write DVDs does not mean that it always can read and write CD.
I have no idea what means "do a reboot on" a CD/DVD burner, whether or not you use the Device Manager. However, for later use, you can get to the Device Manager at least one of the following ways:
- Right-click "My computer" and select Properties; Click on the "Hardware" tab Click the 'Device Manager '.
- Press the 'Windows' key and the 'Pause' key at the same time; Click on the "Hardware" tab Click the 'Device Manager' button (of course only works for keyboards with a "Windows" key)
- Start > Control Panel > system [or, if you use the 'Category' of the control panel view, "Performance and Maintenance" and then "System"]; Click on the "Hardware" tab Click on "Device Manager".
I don't know where you buy hardware in ounces, but in general, a replacement CD/DVD burner doesn't have to be expensive. In the United States, for example, that NewEgg resembles a replacement close enough to what you have for US$ 22. Be aware that your current device uses an IDE interface rather than the more recent (and now more common) SATA interface.

I use DVD Maker (& Vista Home Premium). Can I burn more than one slideshow on a single DVD disc?
I saved 3 different 'projects', each has 10-15 images. When I use the screen 'Add items' to try and add these 3 different projects on my DVD I wind up just with a great slide show, which has 30-40 pictures in.What I want on this DVD is a separate slide show for each of the 3 projects. So can I implement a Menu of this DVD, which allows me to choose which of the 3 projects (slide shows) that I want to watch? Can I do this? If so, how?Thank you!!!I use DVD Maker (& Vista Home Premium). Can I burn more than one slideshow on a single DVD disc?

It's a matter of time.Save each project in the. Film WMV format. Then you can import
the three films in DVD Maker files and each of them will be a chapter...
This way, you will have a menu.Once the DVD-video is encoded you cannot add additional files
the DVD.If you need information on how to save... validate your version of Movie Maker.
