CARPET * a DVD-RAM UJ - 841S: cannot burn DVD/CD more
Hey people,
I have a problem with my DVD/CD drive, I can't burn files more. My CARPET * a DVD-RAM UJ - 841S can always install things of CD and erase DVD/cd but I can't burn more.
Anyone know how I can fix this problem?
cordially Egbert
To me, it seems that the lens of the drive can not calibrate correctly
The bed or write drive before the middle of the lens is calibrated in the right position.
If it fails, the drive is not able to manage the CD or the DVD.
Usually nothing help to wait for disc replacement
Oh wait maybe a cleaning the lens help
You can try to clean the lens. You can use a lint cloth

Help?Hello
As you know, each CD is compatible and supported by each optical drive.
Can I ask you this and audio CD don t work? These are original audio CD or burn one?
You should know that many new audio s CDs come with copy protections of different and sometimes it happens that these CD s are not readable. But we must first know if need all options are enable. To do this you must enter the properties of the drive and check if the option enable digital CD audio for this CD-ROM device has been activated successfully.

Matsu * a DVD UJ - 841S cannot burn properly - Satellite M70
Hello
I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite M70.
The Dvd burner does not work. When I burn a CD for example, after a few minutes, the burn process stops with the error message. I have no problem with reading DVD and CD.I think that the problem is due to the old drivers (2001) or the firmware.
I'm trying to install the new driver from the download area of Toshiba but I do not solve the problem. It is possible to find new Matsu firmware * a DVD UJ - 841S?
Thank you very much
Hello
I m sure this isn't a problem of an old firmware because I assume that your burned CD/DVD reader drives correctly in the past.
In addition, the European driver Toshiba page would provide a new firmware if the old firmware would be defective.I think there are two possibilities; you have not used fully compatible CD or your CD/DVD drive starts to malfunction.
It would not be anything unusual because the s drive laser lens loses the own performance during the long period of use
However, you should test a few other drives from different manufacturers.
I had a good experience with discs CD - R TDKs
Maybe you should try it. -

Hi all
I have a laptop Tecra A8 with Mat * un DVD - Ram UJ - 841 s. This device is not read / burn any disc. However, Mat * one bed the recovery CD at startup.
I tried everything: I deleted the registry entries (lower and upper), I uninstalled Ant again once the driver installed... but it doesn't work. Any help?

Hello
In addition to the fact that you can boot from the Toshiba Recovery CD, I think that it s a problem of training material
I think it's a matter of calibration of lens readers possibly the lens can not calibrate correctly in the right position of s, and this is why the drive can't handle the inserted media. This could be the worst case, because this fault is repairable by replacing the drive.

Satellite A80-129: Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ-830 s cannot burn DVDs
MODEL: SA80-129
DVD RAM TYPE MAST * A DVD-RAM UJ-830 S
SYSTEM: WINXP
SOFTWARE: NERO(1) DVDRAM CAN READ CD AND DVD EASILY, IT Burns CD WELL, BUT cannot burn DVDs, IT SHOWS: G:\ IS NOT ACCESSIBLE INCORRECT FUNCTION, UNTIL IT WORKS WELL. the blank dvd is not a problem, before I used even type a blank dvd to burn.
(2) even allow the recoding in the properties, the properties shows the Virgin dvd 0bytes.all PROMTLY ANSWER would BE MUCH APPRECIATED.
It doesn't sound good.
I had a similar problem of combustion and the end of the story, I replaced the drive ;(
However, try to remove the drive from Device Manager, and then again to restart the operating system should recognize the device again.
Then you could check if it able to burn the DVD s s.
I think you should also try burning different DVD media.I have visited many work sites and the reader, and especially the calibration lens malfunction could be responsible for burning problems.
This could be a worst case and in this case, the replacement is necessary. -
Carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-811 can't be used with some DVD-R
I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite P10 554 with XP SP2 and a carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-811. The problem is that a lot of DVD - R (or DVD - RW) discs cannot be used for burning. If I try such a DVD with Nero a get the error message "disc not initialize - disc may default. Other DVD - r work on my computer.
It's an update of the firmware of my DVD player. I currently use the H100 firmware version. Unfortionately I do not found any update of Web site (tried toshiba, mast * a, panasonic,...)
Anyone have an idea how to solve the problem? Is perhaps firmware version top data? How do a get a new firmware?
Hi haerti,
I can't find a more recent firmware, too! In my opinion, you should try some different DVD - R from other providers! If this does not resolve the problem then I think you should contact Toshiba Service partner for the NB of a short health check!
Https://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com then support & downloads and find an authorized service partner you fid the closest!
Bye and happy new year!

Satellite Pro M30 - cannot burn CD/DVDs
Hello!
Since I got my machine, I was not able to burn CDs or DVDs either. I get a 'power calibration error' that normally I guess means the disc broke. But, because it is a whole new drive (less then a month) and it can read all CD and DVD I throw at it, I doubt that it's a hardware problem. After a few minutes of Googling, I came across a thread made by other people encounter the same problem with this same drive (Mat * a UJ - 820 s), but no good solution (at least none that worked for me).
Here is a log from Nero (6.6.0.1 (also tried older versions)). I hope this is of some use, because this is getting very frustrating... Thank you.

In short: go to controller - device manager and select IDE ATA/ATAPI: try to change only "PIO" mode instead of "Ultra DMA Mode" on the IDE channel that uses your DVD player, namely the secondary IDE channel (since 1 is probably your drive). It should say "Location 1" on the tab where the reader is NOT zero.
Ultra-DMA is obviously more recent and faster and better, but I think that it infiltrates the specified performance of the PIO-mode. It took me about 10 minutes to write about 3 gigs.
(1) uninstall manually each device driver that seemed even remotely connected to the "Mat * one" or "DVD" or "CD" INCLUDING "Standard dual channel PCI IDE Controller" and "secondary IDE channel".
(2) to ensure a hard reboot (power off)
(3) Windows to automatically detect any material it appears after reboot begins
(4) one of these elements has been the "secondary IDE channel"... or in any case... go to Panel of-> system-> hardware: secondary IDE channel.
b change of "Ultra DMA mode" "PIO" mode only(5) go to control panel-> hardware-> device-> IDE ATA controllers Manager / ATAPI-> secondary IDE channel: Transfer Mode = "PIO only" to ensure that this relocation, you just live kept this adjustment, otherwise set it as such and again, DO NOT change your "location 0" define, show your secondary ide channel tab should say "location 1". "
(5) - hard reboot again
(6) the system should come in and automatically detect your CD-ROM / DVD-ROM / Optical Drive / DVD - RAM drive both at the next reboot.
It should then work.

Carpet * a DVD - RAM UJ-811 drive
Laptop: Satellite A10-S703
Carpet * a DVD - RAM UJ-811 drive supports 2 x DVD-R burning.The minimum speed of blank media DVD-R available on the market is 4 x.
A warning on the cover of Imation DVD - R 4 x recordable disks says

Can someone guide me if I can burn 4 x media on this drive?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Ravi,
If you have the DVD burner that can burn DVD-R with a speed x 2 there is no way to improve the speed of burning at 4 x speed.
Some firmware updates of aid to enable support for new media and has increased by a few burning questions (results of optimal registration for your reader).

My Satellite A100 cannot burn DVDs
I have a rug * a DVD-RAM UJ - 841S who is really fighting with burning discs. Although the system recognizes the drive Ok when I go in WinDVD creator or Roxio there is no disk selected and no to select. It seems that none of my burning software does not recognize the drive. Any ideas?
Hello
What to say! Pre-installed images are tested and if your device has a factory settings, it should work fine. If I remember correctly, the set comes with the NOW called RECORDING of SONIC burning software. I hope you have tested before use of Roxio.
Try to remove all the burning software, install Nero and test it properly. Sonic and Roxio maybe some conflicts and engraving option is not available.

I have'nt try every thing. I come here to ask the question.Sorry for my bad English
THX
You can do the following: go to download drivers of Toshiba Europe site and check if there is an update of firmware for this specific player. If so, I strongly recommend you apply and check if it works.
If the didn t of the firmware update worked later you assumed that the reader is defective and must be replaced.

Question about area with a rug code * a DVD-RAM UJ - 841 S
Hello!
I have a Toshiba Satellite with a CARPET * a DVD-RAM UJ - 841S. Someone knows something about the firmware for this? I tried to use dvd43 and VideoLAN, but it does not work properly!I guess you do you want to Flash the firmware to remove the region code of the DVD player.
Am I wrong?
Don t do it! It risky s.
If you update the drive with the wrong firmware or is not compatible the drive is not able to read/write to the media; CD and DVD.
In addition, the use of the incorrect firmware will avoid the reorganization of the training by the BIOS. -

Hello
It looks a bit like a malfunction of the equipment. Maybe the lens of the drive can not calibrate correctly.
Another clue;
Have you tried to delete the upper and lower filter registry entries?
Try it. Sometimes such procedure can simply bring the reader to life. The detailed procedure and description has been published here in the article Microsoft Knowledge base:

Satellite M40: Power calibration error - drive cannot burn DVD - RW more
My drive is a carpet * an oem UJ - 831S. After a screw-up partitioning job, I had to format my HD and reinstall Windows XP... and then I can not burn DVD - RW more.
Tried many programs such as Nero and a fireman, gives an error of calibration of power from the beginning.
Burning CD - r and CD - RW no problem however, and I can read CDs and DVDs of movies very well.Google and searched for a month without success, tried to blow the laser lens, but there is no dust, I tried different media, etc. I know the best answer is that the drive is done, BUT I refuse to acknowledge it because it is too big of a coincedence to stop working right after that I reinstalled XP.
An interesting note however, my laptop has not been provided with a CD of Toshiba, so I had to reinstall manually more drivers by downloading the Toshiba site, so I have a funny feeling, this could be a thing of the software/firmware, or even a framework.
I installed the new firmware 1.02 for the reader as well. I don't remember what the firmware was before resettlement, IE the laptop computer settings to factory default, I'd like to downgrade to 1.00 if possible.
Experts have ideas? And is there a way I can reset the firmware?
Maybe I could remove the drive from the system-> devices and let XP Reinstall for me?
Hello
> I don't know the best answer is that the drive is done, BUT I refuse to acknowledge it because it is too big of a coincidence to stop working right after that I reinstalled XP.
Of course, it s simply to say the drive is dead because everything looks like a hardware malfunction. Most often the power calibration error appears because of the drive lens can't calibrate in the right position and thus cannot read some CD or DVD s s or it of not possible to write about them.
But maybe you are a lucky man and might try this procedure:
-Try to remove the drive physically from the Bay for laptop
-Restart the unit without the drive
-In this case the operating system should start from the HARD drive
-Close the notebook then reinsert the drive unit in the Bay of s for laptop
During initialization, the laptop should recognize the drive and must pick up the firmwareThen you can check if you can burn the DVD again, otherwise you will need a new drive

Hey I have a laptop Equium only around the age of 4 months.
Had nothing but problems with the CARPET * A DVD-RAM UJ-850 s ATA Device drive.
I need to know where I can get the update of the firmware.Firmware for it, that she will not read blank media.
I agree with master... I don't know what kind of problems you have, but if the player doesn't work properly, it must be replaced. The warranty is certainly valid and the nearest authorized can help you with it.
Maybe you made a mistake. Take your laptop to the nearest service and show them what you mean exactly. Here, we can only speculate what may be your problem.

Hi Justus,
Check in the Device Manager to see if your DVD-RAM is displayed. If it is you can try the troubleshooting for her option.
You can also try to remove the device and then re - start, in this way, the system should see the drive and reinstall.
