DVD will do not mount in Windows XP

DVD inserted into my iMac 20 "2.4 Core 2 Duo DVD an OS 10.6.5 disk will not mount in a virtual machine running Windows XP Professional. The drive is installed on the Mac desktop, but not on Windows. Any thoughts on what I could do? Version 3.1.2 of the merger

Thank you

Hi MRomine,

First of all, make sure that the CD/DVD drive is connected to your virtual machine. With the running virtual machine, click the Virtual Machine menu > CD/DVD > it shows connected? If this is not the case, click on connect.

If the CD/DVD drive is connected, make sure that it is set to auto or physics, use CD/DVD drive. Click the Virtual Machine menu > CD/DVD > click Automatic or use physical CD/DVD Drive (if one does not work, try the other).

Let me know if this is helpful to all.

Have you installed Windows 7 device drivers for your make and model. If this is not the case, then go to the support web site factory and download Windows 7 drivers to a folder on your PC and then first install the drivers for the card mother/chipset, followed by USB, SATA, LAN, Audio and all other pilots.

Find the website of your computer manufacturer support.

  • My DVD drive does not appear in Windows Explorer

This morning my computer ran a scan virus and other things, and when this was done, my computer will not respond to any type of CD.  No DVD, CD or even disks with files stored on them.
When I open windows Explorer, the drive from DVD (e) is not even more appear.  I was wondering how to fix this.

    Hello

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
    the question.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    Hope these helps.

  • Option machine to burn DVD movie is not available on Windows 8

Hello! I have a question! I installed 8 window and created something on Windows Movie Maker. Normally in Windows 7, I can just go ahead and burn the DVD out, but Windows 8 do not have this function... What can I do?

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_8-windows_install/i-cant-burn-a-DVD-of-Windows-8-upgrade/aa3ee8e9-5e32-4f72-ABF2-339ab6b78002 >

To clarify once again, for anyone who is confused.

You can simply burn a video file to a DVD using Windows disc. But this creates a data DVD. If your DVD player (or maybe the Blu - ray player) is able to understand the file in this format, he could play, but you would see if your player can do.

A video DVD (playable on a DVD player standard one) requires a specific structure and the video format. Specifically, you need a TS_VIDEO folder with your video encoded in MPEG-2 format in the .vob files. Then, there are several support files (.ifo and .bup files). It is the standard defined by the DVD standards Committee.

3 rd-party software that will even create a video DVD in the right format (sometimes with menus, menus of scenes, etc.), but you'll have to search around. For example, Freemake Video Converter is a program that I used to create a video DVD from base. As with any freeware 3 rd-party, always choose a custom installation, because they tend to try to install add-ons you want.

As to why Windows DVD Maker is not supported on Windows 8/8.1, I have to assume there are many reasons why Microsoft chose to drop support.

    1. The video DVD format is a legacy format that manages only the standard definition video (NTSC 480 p). It supports HD resolutions.
    2. It costs money to buy the MPEG-2 codec on each copy of Windows which must be paid by Microsoft or included in the cost of each consumer copy of license.
    3. There are better options for video sharing (online services like YouTube, Vimeo, OneDrive, etc.) compared to sending a physical disk.
    4. There are better ways of video archiving, on optical media, such as a DVD.
    5. There are video streaming solutions in a House for a computer acting as a media server rather than having to insert a physical disc on a DVD player. And these solutions support HD video, not just SD video legacy.
    6. Even their competitors (Apple, for example) is more understood iDVD with copies of their operating systems.

I don't know about you, since I am just a user companions of the Windows Movie Maker, but that's what I guess could be a reason.

Download XP_CD-DVD - Fix.zip and save this file on your hard drive. Navigate to where you saved it, and double-click the file to extract the content. Find the EXE file that you extracted and double click it.  A confirmation dialog box appears when the script is done.  You may need to reboot for the change to take effect.

Works on XP and Vista. Good luck!

  • Satellite A500 - video/dvd player is not compatible with Windows 10

After having recently updated of my laptop for windows 10 I discovered that the dvd player does not work. A message is displayed informing that the player is not compatible with this version of windows. A scan using Norton suggests dvd will not work because it needs to be configured.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Obviously, Toshiba DVD playback application that is preinstalled on this Satellite A500 model is not compatible with the system Windows 10.

In this case this software will not properly work after the upgrade to win 10 and I guess you have to remove the system Win 10.

Unfortunately, the Satellite A500 is not listed as Win 10 portable computers and so I don't think you will get an update to this software for DVD playback.

  • CD/DVD drive does not appear in Windows 8

My CD/DVD drive no longer appears in Windows Explorer in point 8.1 of Windows on my desktop HP Pavilion Slimline 400-034. The disc rotates during startup. I tried the troubleshooting of Microsoft Window 8 with no luck. I would try the HP troubleshooting which requires access BIOS when booting, but by pressing F10 at startup me does not BIOS but Windows load normally. Any suggestions to at least help me get the BIOS?

Solved! No. thanks to HP. Even if I had never opened the file on my PC and make sure that the cable DVD could not be disconnected, I decided to look for. Much to my surprise, he has been disconnected - but not by me - by a HP technician. I remembered that I had to return the PC to HP to replace the power supply warranty in June 2014. Not only have they not reconnect the cable SATA DVD, they put the cable from the hard drive in the MB connector where the DVD cable was supposed to be. After trial and error and insert the DVD cable in the 3 open SATA connectors with no luck, and finally move the cable from the hard drive to another connector and put the cable DVD where the cable from the hard drive was, the DVD has been recognized by Windows and working correctly. Thanks to HP for the many hours I lost to try to correct their mistake.

    I solved my problem;

the problem was owner and permission on my programs, all users, the program data and my programs (86).

As I type this i / m re - run SFC/verify only and a big pile of sucessfully some updates installed.

What have I done? I took possession of the special directories above from "TrustedInstaller".

Even when owned by TrustedInstaller, it does not have permissions. Some places I found rejection specific to the owner of the network.

-What happened? Do you have a trusted Installer get stuck Mid-install?

I took possession of SYSTEM, and made sure the CREATOR had every right, as in the SYSTEM and

USER, AUTHENTICATED USER. I was perhaps too broad.

I took possession, and then all of the repressed, updates windows are presented themselves to install,.

and I expect /VERIFYNOW SFC before as I mark this as running.

I'm fairly certain VS2008 and VS2010 now repair and install.

Hmmm... always to see funny error message in SFC...
