  Also, I checked the Tecra M5 user manual. There is a list with compatible DVD players, and your new drive is not listed. Not every drive is compatible with any laptop.

  Download XP_CD-DVD - Fix.zip and save this file on your hard drive. Navigate to where you saved it, and double-click the file to extract the content. Find the EXE file that you extracted and double click it.  A confirmation dialog box appears when the script is done.  You may need to reboot for the change to take effect. Works on XP and Vista.   To clarify once again, for anyone who is confused.

  You can simply burn a video file to a DVD using Windows disc. But this creates a data DVD. If your DVD player (or maybe the Blu - ray player) is able to understand the file in this format, he could play, but you would see if your player can do.

  5. There are video streaming solutions in a House for a computer acting as a media server rather than having to insert a physical disc on a DVD player. And these solutions support HD video, not just SD video legacy.
  6. Even their competitors (Apple, for example) is more understood iDVD with copies of their operating systems.
