DVD wrong region

Hello:

I have Windows 8 Pro installed on my Acer laptop.  However, I am not able to play DVD movies.  When I put the DVD in the DVD drive, nothing happens.  Sometimes, I get a message that the DVD region is not correct for the DVD. How will I know what is on the region and how can I reset the region to reflect the country.  I am in the Canada and bought the DVD in the Canada.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Liz

Hi friend, you must follow the following steps to change your DVD region

How can I change my DVD region?

DVD movies are encoded for different regions of the world, and your DVD - ROM drive must be configured for the region appropriate to read the DVD.

If you have the DVD decoder software installed on your computer, you can usually change the DVD region setting DVD decoder program. Follow the instructions in the help file for the program to change the DVD region setting.

If you have a software or a DVD decoder installed on your computer, you can use Device Manager to change the DVD region setting in your DVD - ROM configuration:

1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.

2. in the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.

3. in the list of devices, double-click on CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives, click on the DVD drive for which you want to change the region setting and then click Properties.

4. on the DVD region tab, make the desired changes.

You must be logged on as administrator or be a member of the Administrators group to change the region of the DVD.

Note that the DVD region for most of the DVD-ROM can be changed up to five times, and the number of available changes lies in the region of the DVD tab. If the tab indicates that you can change the parameter one more time (remaining changes = 1), you will not be able to play DVDs using a DVD region that is different from your last selection. If you miss opportunities to change the setting (change remaining = 0), contact the manufacturer of your DVD-ROM to redefine this value.

Also install it DVD decoder as a DVD decoder or codec problem might even cause the problem with DVD region code.

    Hello

It is possible that your DVD drive incorrect region settings.
In this case, it is not able to watch all possible movies to DVD from different regions.
Of course, you can change the settings for 4 times. But after this change, the parameters have been set and it is not possible to change more.

  • How to make DVD player region free player on Satellite L40 - 14Y

I can not play region 1 DVD on my player. (PowerDVD, windows player) The usual 5 times have been used.

I've heard of software to make your region free player, but I don't want to ruin my notebook or losing my warranty.

So is it a software or the ability to solve this problem, or do I really need to get an external hard drive?

Another question, is my Toshiba DVD player flashes for a while that, for no reason.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to make the DVD player region free legal way if you have already changed the region 5 times code.
Now the region code is locked.

Of course, I have read on various websites that it would be possible to remove this protection from the region and to unlock code region but to my knowledge, this is not legal and very risky.

Such tools flash the firmware, but it could damage the master/slave/c-salt settings and then the BIOS does not recognize the disc correctly. In addition the player couldn't handle CD/DVD media correctly. In this forum, you will find some discussion on issues

So to answer you question. using this 3rd party software would be detrimental to the training and would negate the warranty.

    Good bye

    Hello

Well, as far as I know, that you can change the DVD region settings only 4 times. After changes remaining reaches zero, you can not change the region.

  • DVD different region on a Satellite Pro M50

There is a DVD I am wanting to buy, but unfortunately it is only available with region 1 encoding, and I'm region 2. He'd still be on my M50? I looked at the specs and employment mode, but it does not say (or if she is I do not understand it :() and I can't find any other region 1 DVD to test it.) Any help would be appreciated.

    > Would it play on my M50?
No, you will not be able to play this DVD if your DVD player has been set to region 2 code.

Usually, you can change the DVD region code 4 times. Then DVD region code settings are locked, and you will not be able to change more.

    On my laptop, I can change the codes of region as follows;
Go to my computer-> properties of CD Player / DVD-> Hardware tab > brand CD/DVD drive button and press properties-> DVD Region

Here you can choose the necessary country (region)
