dvdram gt31l has lightscribe

I just bought a Pavilion dv6-6153ea, where drive DVDRAM GT31L is installed. I looked through manuals, but can't see if my drive is Lightscribe enabled or not. I tried HP, but just getting back to the textbooks every time. It is becoming a bit of a pain. If anyone knows can you enlighten me please. Thanks in advance.

Try to delete the value of the AFC.

To delete the value from the AFC entry double-click LowerFilters and under value data, delete AFC > OK

Create a system restore point beforehand and restart the computer after.

The value of the AFC would represent the afc.sys driver which can indicate the software Arcsoft has been uninstalled and the value of the AFC has been left behind the creation of the question.

  • Failed to create the recovery on the new machine disk

    Hello

I just bought a Pavilion g6 with Intel I3 and 6 GB of DDR3 ram. The optical storage device is a HP DVDRAM GT31L. The computer is running Windows 7 and has been updated with Microsoft updates all available at this time.

As part of the configuration of the machine, I tried to create recovery discs using Recovery Manager software from HP. I am trying to burn on DVD + RDL discs (Memorex - not cheap products in store $). I also tried the process with DVD-R discs (which requires 4 disks to contain all the data). In both cases, the program compiles data necessary to burn to disc, but when he tries actually burn the data on the disk (if DVD or DVDDL) the process stops after about 5-10 seconds with the message "we wanted badly burn to disc - please try again ' (badly paraphrased, but you get the idea).

I checked the optical drive when burning the image data of existing files WITHOUT problem - it seems to work very well!

Any advice would be appreciated pathetically.

    Mariella.

  • Starting a DVD on the new FreeDOS Z510 (to install Windows 7)

OK, I spent the first 6 hours with my new Z510 and exit BIOS and on several forums and how-to sites!

I have a Z510 (model 20287 on the back, 59400165 shop, Core i5 - 4200M) which only comes with the FreeDOS operating system (not decommissioning of Win8!)

I would like to install Windows 7 64 bit family.

But I can't seem to boot from the DVD! "EFI DVD/CDROM (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GU90N) has been blocked by the current security policy" is the main problem I guess.

Here are "screenshots" of something, that I tried after a lot of reading (it should be in Legacy Support for the boot for Win7 Mode, Boot priority set to UEFI first - maybe because my DVD drive is listed under EFI and OS Optimized Defaults should be set on other OS):

    https://drive.Google.com/folderview?ID=0B0N33N4o6EiualhyN3dvbW54d0U&USP=sharing

Of course, in the separate Start Menu (on this Z510, the order does not appear with the rest of the BIOS) I put the DVD player at the top too. (It's in the screenshot above too)

Given that it did not work, I went on Boot Mode UEFI and after the 'EFI DVD/CDROM (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GU90N) has been blocked by the current security policy' normal message, another 2 entered... see these screenshots:

    https://drive.Google.com/folderview?ID=0B0N33N4o6EiuUUVtV0FHOURfbG8&USP=sharing

Even if I don't had not really changed anything physically, I really worried after given that this action was somehow made my material under Legacy disappear!

    https://drive.Google.com/file/d/0B0N33N4o6EiudHhxNWxkMzhDUVE/edit?USP=sharing

But somehow, after next time turn on the PC, the Windows installation disc starts! HOWEVER, the following problem:

    https://drive.Google.com/file/d/0B0N33N4o6EiuSUJXZ2s5bEFDcXc/edit?USP=sharing

And the ability to format is also grayed out.

    If the ASSISTANCE requested:

How should I complete the installation from here?

I don't know anything about the EFI, MBR or GPT on... Is there something wrong here?

I was counting on the partitioning to the point I had until: 100 GB for drive C to install Windows on and the rest for the D drive and storage... Can I get rid of the Partition system 1 while doing this?

I hope that the photos are a help and not a hindrance. I thought them better than my wordy explanations.

    naushikaa wrote:

Thank you both for your input.

So first I tried what LenBlazer recommended: while The Startup Mode is set to UEFI, I made sure the Secure Boot has been disabled. Saved, went back to back in Boot Mode to legacy and Boot Priority UEFI first (as in the first batch of screenshots as you said), but it won't let me boot from the DVD. (Of course I put it to boot from the DVD in the Boot Menu for others too.) In addition, no Secure Boot option can be seen more, under these new settings.

Then I tried what lknaidu said. So Boot Priority for the first legacy now. But the problem is with your last step,

"prioritize the optical drive which is not referred to as EFI (the one that doesn't have a prefix of EFI).

Optical drive only it lists is one with an EFI prefix:

    https://drive.Google.com/file/d/0B0N33N4o6EiuM3AzaFN3ay1ieDQ/edit?USP=sharing

HOWEVER, this allows me to boot from the DVD, but I still have the problem with MBR / EFI / GPT partitioning of the installation stage.

Speaking of which, I looked at your link, and I see that there are benefits to a GPT system. Do you recommend also this? The link said to ensure that the chipset is UEFI v2.0 + compliant; I tried without success - it is an Intel Chipset HM86 processor.

In any case, always the same basic problem. Any other ideas? Thank you

As stated previously, you must disable secure boot and must confirm that it is really off before changing the settings as shown in the first link. There is a problem with the bios and it is: well secure boot is disabled status shows not disabled but active (see your photo in one of the other link).

Here's how I did it recently.

    • Tent to update driver and it says that the driver is already up to date.
    • There is no new driver on the Lenovo site.

I also tried to download a BIOS update, but there is only an iso version so he needs access to a CD burner to burn. Now I have a problem of chickens and eggs.

Lenovo has a solution for this?

Hey, I fixed it. Just followed advice have removed an entry in the register. and it worked. Here is the link:

  • My dvd player won't play CD but will play dvd .i have run recovery system, no change discs

The unit is a HP PAVILION p6107uk desktop pc. When the cd is inserted pc tries to read for about 30 seconds then silence.right click on results of dvd player in windows explorer freezing.as soon the disc is ejected Explorer is ok.apart of the records of restorations that I tried to uninstall the drive and reinstalling, diagnostic tools can not read drive when the cd is inserted , but is very good with dvd.software updated controls say that my dvd drive is up to date. DVD player is a HL-DT-ST-DVD RAM GH40L.

I am considering buying a new dvd player to see if that solves it, but all hoping a met and solved this problem before

The player uses different devices for the CD DVD vs.  It could be the laser and/or material for the part CD failed.  DVD players are cheap now, so a replacement won't cost you too much.  I see that the specifications indicate that the current drive has lightscribe, then choose a replacement that has this feature if necessary.

    Hello

The reader might have failed and must be replaced. Although the wiring and/or other materials
problems could have an impact on it.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060 - a Mr Fixit

Try this fix manually if the Fixit 314060 does not work

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

You can probably find more info here and maybe even the exact registry for your CD/DVD settings
drive from someone with the same model.

Forums - a lot of expert real help
    http://Club.myce.com/

    CD/DVD units
    http://www.myce.com/storage/

Use DevManView to locate the CD/DVD in the registry (be careful and do a prior Restore Point)
nothing change) - find the DevManView device and then make a right click on it free in RegEdit.

DevManView - free - an alternative to the standard Windows Device Manager, which displays all the
devices and their properties in flat table, instead of the tree viewer
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/device_manager_view.html

    I hope this helps.

  • The 220-1025PC Omni has a DVD burner compatible LightScribe?

I have a HP Pavilion Media Center a1310n desktop PC.  It has a DVD burner compatible LightScribe.  LightScribe identifies a disc very carefully. I took it for granted that LightScribe, a HP inovation, would normally be on the HP desktop computer.  It seems that it was a mistake.  I want to confirm the presence or absence of LightScribe in 220 Omni.  For now, I burned my recovery on the 220 LightScribe disks and created the label on the a1310n.  It is a strange situation.  Thank you.

    Hello

ImgBurn should indicate if the drive is capable of Lightscribe. Maybe you weren't looking in the right screen.

  • [Solved] HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT20L periph. CdRom SATA has a driver problem. The driver faces a problem of Plug-and-Play device.

Recently, I noticed that my CD/DVD stopped working. He turns, but nothing happens; the disc is not read.
I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit on an HP Touchsmart tx2z.

I ran the Microsoft FixIt program through http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116 and it has identified the following problem: 'HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT20L periph. CdRom SATA has a driver problem. The driver faces a problem of Plug-and-Play device. »

However, FixIt said that he was unable to solve the problem and discs are still read.

I manually uninstalled the driver in Device Manager and then scanned for the hardware changes. The driver was reinstalled, but with the same problems as before.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

Also, try following the steps for Windows Vista, which should also work in Windows 7, in the MS KB article:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/982116

These measures, to remove the UpperFilters and LowerFilters, values if they exist, in the registry key named can help.
