DVDRW AD - 7290HR
My desktop DVD stopped everything by making the disks 'recover' - must #4 and the opening of the tray started and closing by itself. Tried to download the new driver, but nothing helped. Been "Regedit" but don't see any "FILTERS superiors or INFERIORS" ideas? " Computer 2 months.
You are welcome. Sorry it turned out be a player you will have to replace it, but at least rule out you software problems.
Good luck.

I have a computer with XP on it and want to upgrade to Win 7 pro (I have the original disc), but the computer does not accept any DVDRW I put in and my DVD/CD requires a DVDRW DRIVE until I install Win 7. Any ideas? I need to do this because all my other computers have been upgraded to win 10 and I HATE it. I've seen an improvement when I added the memory of the computer. Win 10 must be memory intensive.

Chipset, storage controllers use different software drivers. If you run hardware based on intel, can & if its SATA.
you need to the matrix, or accelerator software (RAID) or IDE, they are different. In addition, 99% of all the dvd/cdrom, etc.
are updates of the firmware, which gains its mfg canvas.
If all the above is ok, go in run or cmd, type: diskmgmt.msc in msc, locate the hardware, L.click on this subject, go to actions, all,.

My DVDRW DRIVE listed as CDROM!
Hello
I have a HP DV2914tx, I used it for a year, nor and all burning software (Nero, Infra) work very well for CD/DVD burning
Today, I wanted to reinstall vista and the thought of creating a DVD backup game, so when I clicked on the icon "Create disc to recover", and then click Next on the screen poped upward 'this computer doesn't not have a player capable of creating CDs or DVDs. contact HP support' I was shocked! went to 'My Computer' and select the properties of the DVDRW and it was listed as "Type: CD player.
Properties of the device say;
"Manufactuer: (Standard CD-ROM drives).
Now what should I do? I tried to find drivers on the HP website, but there is no drivers for my DVDRW DRIVE... can someone help me to send me a link to download the drivers for my DVDRW DRIVE?
PS: I tried the inferior/superior fix for Microsoft
Erico thanks for the reply,
Yes, I tried uninstalling the drive and put it back, once again,
My OS is Win Vista Home Premium, and the laptop is DV2914tx
I finally find a way so...
I reinstalled windows by pressing F11 and when I tried to make the dvd backup there has always been the same guest for error... then I got an idea... I put a blank DVD RW in the DVDRW drvie and even reinstalled windows (press F11)... it worked! and I made my backup DVD
I think that this victory forced of vista to record the disc DVD - RW rather than CDROM, which it does by default... BRAVO!

I think I accidentally put an override on it and some how changed the way the computer any bed. I do not understand why it would still show this way after that I have completely reformatted and deleted the old partition. The only thing I have not tried was going on in the registry, I don't know enough to understand the controls or the words I read on as .kext etc. to go through with it. What can I do?
Hi jennie68
Since you've already tried updating the driver, but also a clean install, we can try to update the firmware and check if it helps. Download the firmware from:

Hello
Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I understand that you are having problems with the DVD player on your computer, do not read the disks. I'm happy to help you with this.
I would say that you take a look at this document, if you have not already: computers HP - Drive impossible reading disks (Windows, 10, 8). Try this and see if there is no change. If you get to the end and make recommended hardware tests. Let me know the results.
If this document solves your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

Hello
I think that if the drive works in the 1800-100, it should also work in the 1800-700. There are only a few different specifications, which has no effect on this.

DVDRW mast * one UJ820S made rattling by playing
Hi, I got this Satellite M30X-113 with Mat * un UJ820S DVD +-RW penalty of 15 days back and the DVD drive makes noise while playing all discs, whenever the drive is inserted works very well and after some time the disc starts to make a clicking sound sound touch the edges or something. I first thought that the drive has been making noise because the disks were elbow or something, but I've tried several other discs. This mainly occurs when the reader reads at high speed. I also thought that its possible that since the laptop was not on a flat surface and tried on an old problem of surface but the same level. Anyone has a clue as to what I should do and if its material or the dics. Should I consider for the service.
Thank you

Satellite A30 CDRW DVDRW (Mat * one) drive cannot recognize any dvd
Hello!
I am owner of a Satellite A30-303 with an optical drive MAST * A UJ811 (CD-RW-DVD-RW).
Everything works perfectly until last week the player ceased to play any DVD. Appears in an error message saying that there is a problem with E/S. CDs are recognized without problems however.
I tried to find any updated drivers for the DVD driver but I just could not.
Please someone have an idea of what this might be and how to solve?
Thank you!!
AlexHello
On this path it is always not simply to say what may be the problem. As written littco check if there is some virus or any kind of malware. It is also possible that there is a technical problem and the reader can not calibrate on the right track.
I put really know what you mean with E/S, but you can try to remove the device from Device Manager, and then restart the device. The last thing you can try is to reinstall the unit using the recovery CD. On this way, the unit will be absolutely clean. If the problem persists, obviously there is a malfunction and the drive needs to be replaced.
By the way; have the same opinion as littco.
Good bye

Replace the DVD/CD-RW a DVDRW on Satellite 5000-204?
I just bought a new NEC ND - 6650A mounted in my Toshiba Satellite 5000-204. It fits well, despite the wedge had to be cut in a corner, but everything fits perfectly.
Before I bought it, I called Toshiba and they said, that it will not work, I would only put need updated BIOS. I've updated the bios (I have version 1.80), but the laptop does not recognize the drive.
I tried to access the BIOS by pressing ESC at the start, but after that, a message appears saying: 'Press F1 to the default' and not more options are available. How can I access the BIOS settings?
When it starts, the DVD player turns on the light, so I guess that is not a problem with the drive itself.
Any suggestions? I'm out of ideas.
Hi David
And what happens if you press F1? After that, you should be able to enter the BIOS settings.

Z470 GPU/DVDRW/BLUETOOTH
Nice day! My cousin recently bought an i3 z470 2330 m model it is asking the following questions:
is there a way to disable the bluetooth without turning off wifi?
He noticed that when the unit is in standby mode the dvdrom reader says not detected or removed but when your going to use the walk it will be detected and go as usual... which is a novelty of this model or is not good?
I download a software called cpu - z and he ran into his z470 that software gives you the (technical) details of your unit now when I go the tab software display why it shows only the graphics intel 3000 family with 13 ++ MB ram (I forgot name all but sure it says intel family) but I've been on the gpu to activate the Nvedia T540m 2 GB VRAM as States in the list of specifications of the box of... Why sir? I test the software cpu - z on the other laptop (hp with radeon 1 GB of VRAm) and I had the proper display of vram. hope you can answer my questions. TIA!
Hello Rjee42,
Can understand your queries on a new laptop.
1. to disable Bluetooth
You must press the Fn + F5 key and disable Bluetooth only
2. optical drive becomes disables as is the device used by the Lenovo energy management software to save energy.
3. turn the GPU and then run the GPU-Z-a
GPU - Z is a powerful and professional graphic process information tool which supports almost all types of video and GPU cards. GPU - Z is an application developed by TechPowerUp.com

Two of my DVD players have suddenly stopped woking. I checked in the Device Manager, and they both appear with the exclamation point.
I tried to update the drivers, but have been informed that they are up-to-date.
I then tried the troubleshooting and received the message
"dll.c:windows\pchealth\helpctr\binaries\hcappres.dll is not a valid windows image please check your Setup disk."
As none of the DVD players work I copied the recovery disc shipped with my PC to a flash drive and tried to get the Device Manager to search for it, nothing helps.
Also, I have removed both drives in Device Manager and rebooted the PC. Once readers again appeared with the exclamation point and are not recognized in my computer.
Does anyone have a solution to this?
I checked the C:\Windows\System 32 | pilots and none of the drivers you listed are there. There are files listed for all these without the suffix .sys. Is it the same?
They would be the same that you are probably set to 'hide' the file extensions.
Because one or more of these drivers can be "damaged" that I might suggest at this stage is to remove the UpperFilters and LowerFilters values in the registry key.
Do follow the steps for Windows XP under "fix it myself" in the following article:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314060/en-us
Create a restore point from the system beforehand and restart the computer later.
If you wish, you can try the automated fix it first, but it does not always work.
Also note the section in the article which refers to "some programs maybe isn't able to use your CD or DVD drive until you reinstall these programs"
If you must reinstall the software after you remove values are of course you have the latest version of this software which is known to be compatible with Windows XP.
If iTunes is installed, make sure to install the latest version of hardware drivers (4.020.5) (installs the GEARAspiWDM.sys):
