  When I use the DXDiag.exe to check the DirectX version of my hardware version, the version reported is not correct. I then tried Windows Experience Index and it also reports the wrong version.  The hardware manufacturer said that the material is DirectX 11 but DXDiag.exe and WEI report DirectX 10.1. Is this a known issue? How can I fix it?

  When you run the diagnostic DirectX (Dxdiag.exe) tool on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, the diagnostic tool incorrectly reports a device DirectX 11 as a DirectX 10.1 device. This incorrect version information is displayed in the DDI field on the view tab. This problem is only a reporting error and this does not affect the functionality of hardware or software DirectX 11 graphics card.

  There is a fix for this problem, for more information about the hotfix, see the following article on the Microsoft web site:

  Step 1 YES I DID... Press 'Ctrl', 'Alt', 'Delete' set to open Windows Task Manager. Click on 'Process' to display all processes running on your computer.

  Step 2... HE DIDN'T THERE WAS NO DW20. EXE IS DISPLAYED... Scroll down and click on "DW20.exe" if she's here. Click on "End process." If it is not active, go to the next step to disable and delete startup.

  Hello Serresjio I can almost guarantee you that the troubleshooting steps will flip over as soon as you start back. my suggestion is if possible, remove the hard drive and the scanner on another computer with Malware Bytes Anti Malware, Avast! Antivirus and Spybot Search and Destroy, AVG etc. (all updates of course). usually, I use this method when everything has failed. Don't be too surprised boyfriend so often that I have a USB-(e sata, 1394, 2.5"/5.25 IDE) converter for the toughest jobs.

  Everything do you to not lose hope and format as most of the people do. I have corrected problems of windows than most irreparable thought technicians. It's just a matter of removing the cause and repair the damaged windows files. the problem can be solved the difficulty is just to use the proper tools/software. Lately I use Avast and MBAM with 100% recovery. It IS not JUST a single unrecoverable machine!

  I managed to finally get into windows, I used Active @ Boot Disk to access my hard disks file system and took all the additional files of Winload.exe and Winresume.exe files (there were about 8 extra each) I then copied Winload.exe and Winresume.exe files from my laptop and transferred my office troubled. Then I reloaded with the Windows 7 installation disc and reconstructed the boot with these commands in this order. Bootrec /rebuildbcd bcdedit/export c:\bcdbackup attrib c:\boot\bcd-h - r s ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old bootrec bootrec bootrec /rebuildbcd /fixboot /fixmbr later, I loaded windows up and it worked, rude I'm now told that my copy of Windows 7 Pro is no longer "Genuine", lol, I can worry about fixing this small issue in the morning , now I can finish with everything that I need to before I format this drive and fresh all over again. It can be a pain in the * to do, but when you really need to get back in and everything you learn and try fails, at least, this is a way that will get back you in.
