Dynadock problems - new software install

Hello

I followed the Forum thread "Dynadock does not work with Vista" as my new Satellite Pro could not work with my new Dynadock (new version). I d/l the new http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp software, but it will not be installed and gives me a log file of errors again. This log file says:

> The following properties have been defined:
> Well: [AdminUser] = true {boolean}
> Well: [ProcessorArchitecture] = {string} Intel
> Well: [VersionNT] 5.1.2 = {version}
> Launch Application.
> Using MsiInstallProduct with package path ' C:\Users\RobJones\AppData\Local\Temp\WZSE0. TMP\ut ility\Windows Vista\English\dynadock.msi "and the command line" "
> MsiInstallProduct returned '1638'
> Error:

So I thought I should try to remove the old software Dynadock - duh... But that will not remove itself - so now I'm stuck! Anyone any ideas please?

Thank you

Rob.

Hello

I want to share my knowledge with the dynadock.
I've also updated the new software that I downloaded from the site of Toshiba driver and first of all, I was not able to remove the old applications.
Why?

Well, because the dynadock was still connected to the laptop computer and the operating system recognized and new Plug and installed the drivers!

So if you want to remove this software you must first disconnect the dynadock and then delete all the software that belongs to the dynadock in add it & remove programs.

Greetings

    Hello brooksm549,
Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I got your message which, since updating your iPhone 6 to iOS 10.0.2 your iPhone stops when it is 40% and the power to empty very quickly. I understand your concern with the iPhone turn off and drains the battery. I recommend you to review the use of the battery to see what app contributes more to the battery drain. • Problems to install some new software, Setup crashes

    De : gdwtch

I have an Acer Aspire 5920 computer laptop under Windows Vista Home Premium and I have problems to install new software. Here are some examples: Java iTunes, Winzip, updates... virtually everything that uses the Microsoft service msi installer, I guess.

I tried many different things to solve the problem:

    Re-register the vbscript

    Re-register msiexec

Install the version 4.5 of the installer

Run the Windows Installer Cleanup tool on the items I've tried to install (by the way this tool would not install either - I had to copy the executable files from the temporary directory created by the Installer)

Check that the msiexec service has been set to manual

Cleaning of all parts of temp

I tried to turn on Installer connection by setting the registration in the registry key, but I probably did it wrong, because I see no additional newspaper created in temp area...

I noticed that some facilities will end if I let them run at night. For example, was the case with the installation of version 4.5 to install... I just let him work when I went to bed and in the morning the machine has rebooted itself and seems no worse than before (and 4.5 does not appear to be installed, according to msiexec /?). But no luck with the other facilities more. Strangely, won't install things like updates of Firefox, no problem. I guess that they do not use msi...

Unfortunately, this behavior started several months ago, so I can't pin down to change the particular system; I've just been putting upward with it. I just finally reached the end of the coil because someone gave me an iPod and now I NEED to download iTunes installed if I want to use.

I really hope someone out there has a new idea for me to try, like waaay, I spent too much time on this already!

    From: John Barnes

I had a similar problem which was caused by the Installer tries to set a restore point.  You can try to disable the restore point creation.  I have spent way too much time and got no results.  Some programs would run after restore point expired, others not. I finally gave up and reinstalled Windows Vista.  Now, I have no problem and the process was pretty painless.  Hope you're not massive amounts of resettlement programs.  :-((

  • Computer will not properly install update KB976098 + new software

I was a lot by browsing this site and saw that many people is facing the same problem. What I did find was a person with software problems.

My computer was purchased 26/11 this year with Windows 7 pro + Microsoft office home and student . One day Windows were 27 updates to install and therefore has been left overnight. In the morning update no. 27 was still install and never finished. Had to restart the computer to exit the update screen. days later there were 4 updates to install. Still once, the last update was never completed.

Now, there's only 1 update important remaining, KB976098 , the fix for the time zones that I presume.

Not only the update will not install, now the new software may not be installed properly:

I tried some actions (such as downloading stuff, install software, games) while windows tried to install the
    Update:

    • During the installation (for example.) Adobe Reader, Comodo FireWall took more than a minute to display its notice of default on an attempt to install software on the computer and therefore compromised the initial installation.
    • Turn off Comodo Firewall does not solve the problem. Delay of the computer respond when an action of the instalation was performed is the same.
    • The installation of update process could not be stopped once he was "installation."
    • The icon of 'disable' had no notification "update", but once to close the office and displays the message "loging off", the computer is never extinguished.
    • While playing an online game, nothing unusual has happened, no delay on start-up or exit.
    • When you save things like a packadge power point (for conferences of 2007 to display on older versions) the application would freeze and the package has never been created
    • Presentations PowerPoint would have graphics errors, such as the black and white rectangles containing all movable objects.

After Force-reboot of the computer, cancel the auto-update feature and remove it from the list self-install, I retested evevrything:

    • Adobe Reader has been installed successfully, even with Comodo Firewall active
    • Comodo Firewall has reacted instantly to any attempt installation
    • More online games the same
    • PowerPoint correctly displays images and created packages without error
    • Turn the computer off was possible without forcing the stoppage.

Now, I'm checking the updates installed and found out there are only installed 23 (in the Control Panel installed updates ). The history of the update displays more than 74 update. As mentioned previously, the first batch of update contained 27 updates, No 23 or 24. I checked some of these updates to the story:

    • There are a few updates, eg. update of security for microsoft office system who have 10 diferent KBs (being the first of its kind, his last KB974234 KB936514). Five of them have been installed twice: KB936514; KB951944; KB954326; KB956828; KB960003

I guess in these 74 updates, replacents occurred in 23 updates, and some are not microsoft partners to be included in the Panel of installed updates . I really don't know, that's why I am asking :D

I tried the more possible ways to install the update, downloading it mannualy, disabling the firewall, close all other applications, etc. etc...

I would like to know the following:

    1. Why is not install update KB976098?
    2. Why other users have the same problem with recent updates?
    3. How to prevent the installation of update if the stop command does not work?
    4. How can I turn off the computer without having to install the downloaded update?
    5. Are double downloaded updates a problem?

I wrote this for so long now. If I forgot anything, the question might be already in the text.

Thank you for your time and patience! :)

Read the "Updates since the previous cumulative Windows time zone update" section of http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976098. If you do not reside in one of these 14 zones, really useless this not (IMHO) security-related update, so you can just "hide":

    1. stop the automatic updates service:

Start > Right click on run , and then select run as administrator > services.msc (type) > [OK]
Double-click automatic updates > click stop
(Stopping the service will take a moment)

2 remove the contents of the download folder:

Start > Right click on run , and then select run as administrator >
    (type or copy/paste) %windir%\SoftwareDistribution > [OK]
Open the download folder and delete its content
    Close the window.

3 start | Control Panel | System maintenance and (if you use Classic view, skip this step). Windows Update: Select the installed updates: right click on the Update for Windows 7 (KB976098) | Click hide update | Confirm the prompt UAC (User Account Control), if any, & OK your way out.

    4. start the automatic updates service:

Start > Right click on run , and then select run as administrator > services.msc (type) > [OK]
Double-click automatic updates > click Start
(Stopping the service will take a moment)

    =====================================
To restore/show updates in Win7: Start | Control Panel | System maintenance and (if you use Classic view, skip this step) | Windows Update | Restore hidden updates: Find and select the update you want to install. Click restore. You can now select once again it and install through the normal process.

I think I found the solution for this point, because I have just encountered the same problem in our environment and here's what I did to solve it:

-Create a higher level permissions at the root of the folder redirection (for example \\servername\mydocredirfolder): grant the Group authenticated users the following permissions and apply it to "this folder only" ALLOW: list folders/read data, reading, reading attributes, read extended attributes, create files / add data

I think the MSI is trying to read the free space on the disk on the server, but it cannot because it tries to access the folder where your my documents redirection is sitting.

    Good luck!
