Canon MP Navigator stopped working (MX870)

Windows7, Oper 64 bit system running

Canon MX870

Scanning was not a problem before a few days ago. No new software or programs have been installed.

Went to scan a document and scan looked like it was working, then dimmed it and received the error message: Canon MP Navigator EX has stopped working.

Searched internet solutions and tried them. Nothing works. I went as far to uninstall all Canon products and utility, even went into the registry and searched and removed everything that I thought I could associated with Canon.

Always error. What should I do now?

Guess I have pretty well stumped pave it because there has been no response

Hi jealkon,

There may be a third scanner driver interferes with MP navigator.  Please, try the following:

1. click on 'Start' and then on 'computer '.

2. in the left pane, click the arrow next to the record Local (c).

3. click on the arrow next to Windows to open the folder

4. highlight the twain_32 folder.

5. the folder should have 2 folders that begin with PIXMA MX870 and a file called wiatwain.ds.  Other folders or files must be moved to the office.

6. restart the computer and try to scan the image.

I just bought a Scanner Canon LiDE 700F is supposed to be compatible with windows 7, but after having installed the software provided in accordance with the instructions, I get the message - "Canon MP navigator stopped working, a problem that the program to stop working correctly, windows will close the program... etc." - I have windows 7-64 bit installed on my computer.

I tried the Scanner in other programs, and it is recognized by them, but with limited usability. I've also contacted Cannon, software downloaded on their site, but without success, any suggestions?

    Hello

If this isn't a driver problem there is a problem of setting or material and you
    need to contact Canon.

As Canon OEM is responsible for the good operation of the printer and their
drivers provided. Check with Canon support, online documentation, and
    drivers.

Good luck, you need to update or reinstall the latest driver.

  • Canon MP Navigator stopped working with scanner. Worked under Vista, not Win 7.

Scanner Canon Lide 200 worked very well under Vista 64.  I've updated on Win 7 64 and the software interface has stopped working - "MP Navigator EX has stopped working".  That's a BEX error module fault MSONSEXT. DLL_unloaded.  I uninstalled, downloaded the newest and reinstalled, same problem.  Canon had me create a new profile, the program works in this profile.  Canon has written it's rights or licensing of the OS.

The scanner works with other software.  MP Navigator is a resident program for making copies or copy and email, etc..

Here are the details of the windows error

I had the same problem with Win 7 64. I talked to Support Canon technique and after an hour in which we tested several things, I was told the problem was with Windows and I need to contact Microsoft. I tried to create a new profile that has fixed the problem for about a week, then he came back again! The question may be associated with Windows Update, but I'm not sure. On this last go I created a new profile and then copied to the folders and files from the corrupted profile one at a time to see when the problem would be to start over. After carefully copy of files, save, test Mp Navigator, and if necessary to restore the last good configuration I discovered that the following file was the cause of the problem:

    C:\Users\\App Data\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Network Shortcuts\My Web Sites on MSN

Note: This file was not present in my new profile. In addition, the icon has the shortcut on that marker, but explore announces that it is a folder. There is no file extension.

I then copied ALL the other bad profile data to the new and MP Navigator still worked! I then deleted the file in question from the wrong profile and MP Navigator started working there too!

I then reconfigured all my software and IE etc for the first time by looking at the network shortcuts folder. The file in question has not yet reappeared. I made a shortcut to this place, I can keep an eye on it to see when it appears again.

I hope someone at CANON or Microsoft will fix this issue of profile "corrupt."

    Sincerely,

    David Witteried

I use an operating system of Windows 7 Vista and my printer is a Canon PIXMA MP240 printer.  The App - 'MP Navigator EX' has stopped working. Cannon Tech told me it's a fault of Windows updates.  Windows tech people said they could solve the problem, but it would cost me $100,00.

Any future assistance or suggestions would be most appreciated.

    Thank you.

Either you have windows 7 OR you have vista (not both).  Since MP Navigator is a product of Canon, they must support on windows with or without updates.  It is to them to be compatible with windows, not the reverse.

Not sure who said they could fix it for $100, but I suspect that they were crooks.  Supports MS windows (and they maintain no more than standard support for vista) it would be free.

  • Quick menu Canon stopped working [solved]

Hello everyone... first time poster here with a new PIXMA MG3222 printer I just bought today and I'm having a problem.

Whenever I try to launch the Quick Menu of Canon, I get a windows popup error message, "Quick Menu Canon stopped working. This has happened every time and the error message is immediate. A black box that indicates the Task Manager is the main window of the Quick Menu Canon is in the background, but nothing appears in it and said the Task Manager is not ongoing.

I downloaded and reinstalled drivers 3 for my Win7 64 bit box from the Canon Site, as well as the most recent software Quick Menu but still the same error message. I opened my firewall to allow the Quick Menu Canon thinking that he may be trying to contact Canon for a reason, and that's why he was not but once again... always the same error message.

The printer & scanner work fine, but of course I have to select each function separately from Windows Explorer in order to use, no quick Menu of the Canon, which is quite annoying.

Someone at - it a similar problem they solved?

  • When clicking on the icon from the Quick Menu Canon on Windows 8 I get the message: "Canon Quick Menu has stopped working".

I installed the driver software from the CD that came with my printer Canon Pixma MX 452. He created a desktop for the Canon Quick Menu icon, but when I click it I get a message that says "Canon Quick Menu has stopped working. Windows will look for a solution. "However, it debits and barattes and Windows never finds a solution. I reinstalled the application several times from two CD and on the website of Canon with the same results.

    Hello

There may be several causes for this problem that are preventable.

I suggest you to install the drivers in Windows 8 computer by choosing the level of compatibility in Windows 7:

    a. run the program compatibility Assistant, by pressing the Windows key + W and then type Control Panel.

    b. click on programsand then clicking on use a older with this version of Windows program.

  • Text element stops working with the keyboard navigation

I'm part of text for some reason disabling any and then enable it. Unfortunately, after you activate the text element, it stops working with the keyboard (with the tab key) navigation, and the cursor does not move to the order of the day. Could you please throw some lights? I'm stuck here! Thanks in advance.

    Hello
After allowing one more time, you must set its navigable property to true.

    set_item_property('item', NAVIGABLE, property_true);

Please indicate if it helps you or correct

  • Cannot run Canon MP Navigator on Vista Home Premium (32 bit)

    Hello

Would appreciate if someone could come up with a solution to this. Have had my Canon MP560 multiprinter for a year - never had a problem with printing or scanning. However, today when I tried to scan the printer it did not work. For scanning to occur with the buttons on the printer MP navigator must open - where the problem. (I am able to scan via windows live photo gallery).

I also can't open MP navigator in stand alone function. I've deleted and reinstalled with the latest drivers from the website of canon (according to canon tech advice), but no change. I tried to run as an administrator - but nothing works. By opening the location by clicking on mpnex30.exe file does nothing.

Is there a way to get this exe file to work - and why it suddenly stopped working or something stopping to go to the top?

Thank you very much in advance for any help anyone can offer on this subject!

    Hi thanks.

Had nothing to do with the profiles or user accounts. Technical support level 2 Canon has managed to help me sort out them. Another program in the TWAIN_32 folder has been intefering with the Canon file at this location. I just had to remove the offending file from there and hop right!

I guess you guys at MS should he noted down in case anyone has the same problem as me!

    All the best,

    AKG
