  • temporarily disable an email account in windows live

I have an ISP for my house and a different ISP at the cottage.  I would like to use Windows Live Mail in both places.  Can I enter two e-mail accounts and temporarily disable one of them?  I would go to the web page of mail for the account that I disable to address messages sent to this address.

Ok. It seems that Cogeco will allow you only to use its SMTP server when you are connected to the Internet using their service. This doesn't stop you receiving mail, however.

According to their support page, authenticated Bell support, secure access SMTP on port 587, then you should be able to send using their server (smtphm.sympatico.ca) from almost anywhere.

You will need to experiment with the use of the Bell server as Server mail out on behalf of Cogeco. To test this,

    1. Right-click on the Cogeco account name in the folders pane, and then select Properties.
    2. On the servers tab, change the outgoing smtphm.sympatico.ca mail server (or ask some Bell Server allows you to use, it can vary depending on the type of your Internet service).
Select my server requires authentication , and then click settings.
Enter the Bell user name and the password that gives you access to the webmail account of Bell.
    3. On the servers tab, select this server requires a secure connection (SSL) for the outgoing e-mail server.
To ensure that the messaging port outgoing 587.
    4. Close Windows Live Mail and wait a few minutes before resuming.
    5. Compose a test message and send it using this account to the same address.

If you see an error message, click it to select it, and then use a right click to copy and paste in your response.

  • Temporarily disable an email account?

I use iOS 9 on my iPad 2, and allowed several mail accounts in the Mail application.

Is it possible to disable one of the email accounts without remove it entirely? There are moments where I don't want the iPad download of messages from this account specific or nagging update me the password for this account. However, I would like to leave info configuration of basic account on the iPad that some details are a bit non-negligible.

I don't believe it. Under OSX, there is a drive shaft turn, but I don't see that on my iPad.

What are accounts? If any of the desired accounts have an INSERTION function, you could turn the untimely account to the MANUAL and just do not update E-mail until you want to. The PUSH account update you but would you choose if/when updating the MANUAL account.

  • El Capitan gives error update disables iCloud e-mail account on MBPro

I tried to solve this problem based on other similar questions welcomed by others, but have been unable to fix it. I have a single e-mail account which is apple me.com. The account has stopped working on the upgrade and does not download the messages for the MBPro. I tried everything that I've seen other recommended with similar but not identical questions be advised to do so and it did not work. My Rebuild option on the drop-message is disabled! I tried to disable an option 'automatically detect and manage account settings' again and again without success. I explore my computer I see other glitches too which make me wonder if it was the best idea to upgrade. I have implicit confidence in Apple which is questioned as we speak. Can it be fixed and if not can I go back to the older operating system? At least I can get my email on the ipad, but is not a solution! Thank you!

Because I'm not allowed to edit my post, I can only answer for myself with an update:

  • BlackBerry smartphones temporarily disable additional pop accounts

    Curve 8330

    OS 4.5

    VerizonWireless

Staff / BIS - no company

Feature: 10 additional pop accounts to synchronize

Design of fault/poor: impossible to selectively disable accounts when not not necessary without deleting them.

I can't even begin to understand why anyone would want to move to sift through all the emails on their BB have much less do it again anywhere on their PC.

Normally, the only email that I synchronize with my curve is through my email BB BIS account.  My other email accounts are available on my PC, filtered, and only specific e-mails are forwarded to my curve.

When I am out of town and have my PC switched off, I created my pop accounts to sync on my curve.  Currently, the ony that I can find, then disable the pop accounts is to remove them when I return that requires having to re - when I go out of town again. A royal pain!

On my PC, I can define whether each account individually to synchronize automatically.  On my Palm Lifedrive, I could put it up in the same way.  On these blackberries, the elite supposed of handheld e-mail devices, I get "empty eyes" when I ask 'experts' selectively log my e-mail accounts.

I hope that someone here might have better knowledge than the experts?

    Thank you.

You can log into your BIS account, select filters next to the e-mail and select "do not forward messages to device" for each email

then, when you want to go to your new device, select "Transfer messages to the device" for each email

  • To restore e-mail account deleted

Hello world.  I had problems with one of my email accounts, so I deleted it from my imac (I'm under El Capitan).  When I try to restore with the new settings, I'm not allowed because it says "account already exists."  Anyone know how I can add my old e-mail account?  Thank you!

    1. Please make sure that you don't have two accounts with the same email address. What happens if one of them is an iCloud account.

    2. If you use iCloud Keychain, open the iCloud pane in system preferences and uncheck the keychain. You will be prompted to delete the keychain local iCloud. Confirm - the data will remain on the servers. Then re-check the box. Follow one of the procedures described in this article to support to implement the iCloud Keychain on an additional device. Test.

If you can't disable iCloud Keychain because the box itself check again, disable it on all your other devices first, and then try again. Before you do, make sure that you can use at least one of the methods given in the related support above, article under the heading "how to configure iCloud Keychain on a new device without another device to approve of?

Try to add the email account again. If you still can not, log off or restart the computer, and then open the preferences window accounts Internet and check if the account is displayed.

  • How can I turn off autoforwarding to a different e-mail account?

My Thunderbird email goes to two places. My Thunderbird account and another account. How can I disable the other?

As already said, there is no distinction between a Thunderbird account. E-mail accounts are issued by providers of electronic mail and Thunderbird's email client software and not a supplier.

It is possible to create a filter in Thunderbird to forward incoming mail. If that's what you were doing, remove the filter.
The most logical way to do this is with your email providers server. If you did send, sign in to your account to your web e-mail providers page and put the transmission.
Only you know how your insider sent in the first place.

  • iCloud do not let us create new e-mail account

Emails from my son of 2 years have been deleted and we contacted our provider which is extracting their server. The man said that he should take up to 24 hours. He said to check our e-mail settings (which we have not touched for many years, so nothing should change). We checked and everything is the same, but we decided to remove the e-mail account and recreate it, to nine. (There only 9 emails now, it created a folder & put them in so no worries of losing any email.)

However, iCloud isn't us leaving recreate the email account! Whenever he tries to recreate the e-mail account, it is said: "this account already exists."

Note: iCloud is disabled on his mac, but he receives her iCloud email on his iPad and iPhone.

How to re - create his e-mail account on his desk within the e-mail? Thanks for your suggestions. It is on the BONE El Capitan. (Please note that I can also post this question in another category for iCloud issues. Hope that's OK).

There is no such thing as e-mail. Now, if you say Mail that works on a Mac it is only an e-mail client designed to send and receive mail. If you just want to add a new e-mail account, and then follow the instructions:

Address postal (Yosemite): Configure Mail with your email accounts
