  • HP Deskjet 2540: Does not print correctly

    Hello!

I was wondering if everything can perhaps help me?

I'm in Uni and so have to print several etc test and for all these front page - but every time I try to print this cover on the printer page or amends the provision does not print. Why is this?
The cover page looks essentially like a chart with several boxes.

And even if there is enough paper in the printer it says exactly the opposite, I want this problem is easy to fix (remove the film and put it again), but it's starting to annoy me

Is there something I can do?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello @alinah,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are printing problems when printing a cover sheet with your tests to your computer Windows 8.1 for the all-in-one printer HP Deskjet 2540. In addition, you have met your printer issues as well with intermittent 'in paper'. I want to help you solve these issues today.

To be honest, the paper intermittent power issue and the cover page number can down to a problem of programming with your printer. If your "brains" of printers is corrupt in any way that the printer is not responding correctly. To make your printers programming up to date, please click here. When the site opens, select the download button at the top left. Allow the download to run. Please follow the instructions on the screen to complete the Firmware update of the programming.

Once the update is complete test please print again. If the number of cover persists, please continue to the next step.

    Add another driver:

It is likely that the driver for Deskjet you use is in conflict with your Windows 8.1 operating system, even if your printer is compatible with the Windows 8.1. To ensure that a driver conflict provokes questions, please follow the steps below.

    1. Open the Start screen (by selecting the windows start button in the lower left corner or by selecting the "Windows" button at the bottom left of your keyboard to the left of the 'Ctrl' key
    2. In the start screen, type "devices and printers".
    3. If the option devices and printers automatically fills, click settings at the top right and then click on devices and printers.
    4. In the devices and printers folder right click on your HP Deskjet 2540 and left-click on properties of the printer
    5. Left click on the Advanced tab
    6. Left-click on new driver
    7. When the new driver window just press 'Next' until you see a list of manufacturers on the left and a list of Printers on the right.
    8. Select HP as the manufacturer on the left
    9. DeskJet 9800 select the printer on the right. If Deskjet 9800 is only select "Windows Update" at the bottom left and once the update has been completed, you will be able to select Deskjet 9800.
    10. After selecting Deskjet 9800 hit Next to complete the wizard driver new
    11. Under the printer properties window, select "Apply", but don't hit not OK
    12. Select the general tab
    13. Rename your printer in HP Deskjet 2540
    14. Click OK
    15. Finally, right click on your HP Deskjet 2540 one more time and left-click on Printing Preferences
    16. Left click on the paper/quality tab
    17. Left click on the drop down menu 'Normal' for quality printing at the bottom right and change its normal fast
    18. Press apply and OK

Once the new driver is added, please test print to see if your problem is resolved.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hear from you!

  • HP Photosmart 5514 does not print correctly

I have a HP Photosmart 5514 All-in-on the printer. I restarted my laptop and now it does not print right.

The printer prints the test page (chosen among the parameters of the printer) just as it should and it also prints everyting I scanned (pdf), but nothing else, really. Of other pdf files, it prints only the hyperlinks, but not the text. No print from word, excel or the web browser.

It will be not as copy. It scans alright (in a file), but the printing part is the problem.

I deleted all drivers, restarted the computer and installed all the drivers available. I made this 5 times now and nothing works. I have windows 7 and I'm using the USB cable. The printer was working with the same computer and the same software before maintenance.

Welcome to the HP community @Aronia !

I saw your post on your Photosmart 5514 does not copy and not printing from your computer, however, it will scan. I will do my best to help with the problem to see if we can fix it for you.

Try power resetting the printer to start:

Press the power button to turn the product on.
With the product, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.
If the product does not light by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

When the printer powers back up, try to make a color copy from the front panel of the printer.

On the computer, run the print and Scan of the doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for all conflicts that may be causing the problem. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there is a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results.

Please respond to me with the results to look over it, and we can go from there if necessary.

    Have a great Thursday!

  • Windows Live Mail does not print on a printer wireless

I just installed a wireless Epson Artisan 730 on my desktop printer.  I can print pictures and Word documents, but I cannot print the mail in Windows Live Mail.  When I click on print, my Wired HP printer is the only printer that appears.  If I click on "Find printer" it says "discovery of the network & file sharing are turned off."  The network computers & peripherals are not visible. "I found that confusing since for other printing on my desk knew where to go, but I turned on the discovery network and printer sharing anyway.  Still nothing.  What I am doing wrong?

My iPad e-mail program can find the printer very well, incidentally.

Check the file > print by mail, is the printer you want to show?

In the devices & printers is the default printer Epson?

  • M477fdw: Updated Firmware for M477fdw and now it does not print correctly

I noticed that I had an update on the printer, then I hit install update. After the updated whenver I print print hollow letters. I wouldn't change a thing on my Mac, I even tested it from a Windows machine I have. The first page prints always hollow and the rest of the normal printing pages. I have reset to factory settings. The only thing I can think is that the upgrade breaks the functionality. Someone had this problem?

    You're not alone.

Others have reported that they have corrected this by setting the printer to factory settings. It is possible that the reset method, you used did not do.

Make a note of your existing settings before doing so.

    Once you have done this:

    (1) turn
    (2) power on
    (3) when the hp logo appears, hold the lower left area of the touch screen.
    (4) release when the following message appears.

Then, set up the machine again.

  • e-mails do not print correctly when you use MS Outlook

I was forced by msn.com to accept an 'upgrade' of MS Outlook Hotmail vice for my msn account. With Firefox Outlook of 19 cars loaded and I can read my email, but I don't get the Outlook buttons for printing, etc. If I try and print a mail with Firefox (click on file, then print), the output is not email, but rather a 'view' print, that is, the entire email will print not so long, and all the elements of print screen as well. I am at a loss in trying to solve this problem and have spent a lot of time trying to find answers online. I use Windows 7. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On mine, there is a menu «...» "where I have the command to bring up a version in the printing of the message format. You will find that, and made the opening of pop-up windows? If it is blocked, you may need to create an exception in the blocker for live.com.

  • HP Photosmart Premium c309g-m PDF does not print correctly

Am under Win XP. have HP Photosmart Premium c309g-m; running the last printer driver; printer connected wirelessly, using Adobe Reader 11.0.0.4.  In other words, I'm under the last printer driver and the latest version of the Adobe Reader software.  Everything prints fine except PDF.  See the PDF file in Adobe Reader, the print preview looks good, but I get blank pages on the printer with most of the settings.

The pdf document is black and white.  I feel better if I say the HP print driver to print color and say the Adobe Reader print dialog for 'print picture '.  The output is readable, but much too weak.  Same results when you run the same configuration of printing on Windows 7.

HP produces a printer whose driver is able to print PDF documents properly?  If so, I would consider buying one.

    Hi FeralUrchin,

Thanks for the reply. No problem at all!  I'm glad that the replacement printer works very well.  If you have problems in the future feel free to go on the forum or contact the helpline.  Here is a link for the global coordinates for any future reference if necessary. Click here
