  • When Outlook Express asks you to compress files, what happens to my e-mail messages?

Outless Express has a pop-up asking you to compress my files of e-mail message to free the disk space. If I click YES, my e-mail messages are deleted?

Your e-mail messages are not deleted when you compact, unless there's a problem. Always backup personal folders on your computer, e-mail or otherwise.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it?
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

Compacting your folders periodically is a must to keep OE works fine and at some point, you may lose all your saved messages if you do not. When you delete or move messages, the space they used remains until you compact.

Never touch anything until the compression is finished.* *.

With SP2, Automatic compaction in the background has been removed because of problems he has caused. Now, you will get a prompt to compact after 100 closures of OE, you need to do, and do not touch anything until it's finished. If you compact manually, at your convenience, this will also set the counter to zero. See this for more information: http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm#compact

If you are fully patched, you will now see a copy of your dbx files copied to the Recycle Bin as BAK files. If something goes wrong when compacting, the messages can be easily restored from this backup. A compact manual resets also the counter in the back of the registry to zero now.

To keep things running smooth and harden faster:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. It will eventually become corrupt and you may lose mail. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

    And backup often.

  • Problem opening .jpg file in an e-mail message

When you try to open the .jpg file in an e-mail message, get the message.  This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.  Create an association in the Folder Options Panel.  How should I do?

    Create a file association.

    1. download and save the attachment to the office.
    2. right click on the saved file.
    3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
    4. click on: choose [default] program.
5 select: Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (unless you are using a different program).
    6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
    7. click on OK.

This should allow you to open these attachments directly from email address now.

Original title: I can't fix an Autocad drawing to a Windows Mail message.

I can reach everything. He pointed out that the files cannot be found.

    Hi JerryHunt,

    1. when the files located?

2 are you able to attach this file in other emails?

    3. How do you attach the file? Are you trying to drag-and - drop?

You can try through the interface and try to drag and drop the file.

You can also try to change the location to save the file. You can save to a different location and also save by using a different file name. Try to attach the file in Windows mail, then check if it works.

Check that you don't have 2 copies of the account specified under Tools | Accounts.  If this isn't the issue, then its likely the database has been corrupted.  Try to remove your e-mail account, and then compact and repair the database (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and then add your account again.  Also, make sure the antivirus software is not interfering.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.apsx#3

Also, my OEX program (www.oehelp.com/OEX/) will remove the duplicate messages.

  • BlackBerry Z10 reduce an image file to be attached to an e-mail message on a new Z10

Hello there, recently got a new Z 10, love it by the way.   Does anyone know how to reduce the image files that you take with the Z10 to attach one or more to an e-mail message.   There is no prompt in the options to reduce the size and the process that notifies you that the files are in the large shipment.  I tried all the visible change icons popping up, but none of them are associated with the reduction of file.

    I would appreciate a well-informed response.

    Thank you, Joseph

the picture in the z10 editor does a great job with Cup, effects, sharpness, etc.  but there is no re-size. There are two or three free photo editors in appworld that accomplishes this task for you.

    Hello

Send it to / mail recipient option works only if you have a separate E-mail program is installed.

You must have a Desktop Email program is installed to do this, such as Windows Live Mail, which is part of the Windows Essentials range.

  • Where are the files of Windows Mail messages and contacts stored in Windows 7?

I backed up a Windows 7 system and restored to factory State by doing a restore of the system because the system has been seriously infected by viruses.  I couldn't do the export before the system recovery.

Now, given the Windows 7 system restore brand new I am trying to restore Windows Mail account.  In fact, I can't tell if it was a front window Mail or Windows Live Mail.  I don't know if the locations of the files for messages and contacts of these two letters are different.

When I go to c:\users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\, I don't see Windows Live Mail but Windows Mail.  So does that mean it was a Windows Mail system not a before Windows Live Mail System.  I copied the files saved in Windows Mail system on the same path directory in the newly recovered system, but it doesn't seem to make a difference when I open Windows Live Mail, which is the only e-mail program on the newly recovered Windows 7 system.

Can someone confirm the locations of the files to messages and contacts, Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail in the operating system Windows 7 home.  Can I just copy the files on?  With Outlook 2007 and 2010, she usually works if I simply copy the files or import from the saved file.  Also should which file names be so that I can easily identify them?  Are the mail accounts and password setup to re - enter as Outlook 2007/2010 or are stored in the files I can simply copy to the new system?

  • Why can not open a JPEG file in an e-mail message on my computer but I can't do on my smartphone? I'm used to be able to do this before the upgrade to the CD player.

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC using newly updated since Adobe Acrobat, I am not able to open a JPEG file in an e-mail message in Microsoft Outlook on my computer but I am able to open the attachment on my smartphone.  I think I used to be able to open a JPEG file before the upgrade.  I don't know what to do.

    mredjoe49 wrote:

It's more than likely the problem. The Adobe Acrobat Reader software is not an 'upgrade' to Adobe Acrobat. Acrobat will open and convert .jpg files in PDF, free player open that pdf file.

If you want to 'upgrade' and need this capability, you must update to Acrobat, not reader.

The good news is that you should always have Acrobat on your system. Open it and use it to open the .jpg file.

  • Analyze the text file javax.mail.Message

    Hello

I have e-mail messages saved to disk in the form of text files and I'd like to load each message as a javax.mail.Message and analyzed. The reason I want to do is that I will be able to use the java mail API and I already have an analysis program that can scan the headers and the body. Is there a possible way to do this?

    Thank you

If the emails are saved as EML file, then you can load them as MimeMessage and then easily analyze.

    Source InputStream = new FileInputStream (emlFile);
    MimeMessage message = new MimeMessage (mailSession, source);

    Complete example at http://www.rgagnon.com/javadetails/java-0458.html

  • Windows Live Mail message rules

I have used Message rules in the past but have the need for a new application that I can't understand.  One of the filters for incoming emails is to "respond with the Message.  When this choice is enabled, I wonder for a file name.  I created a .txt file with my message of your choice and saved and WLM then indicated the path to the message.  Yet, when I test the rule to my own email account... without glory.  If someone knows the procedure step by step for this part of Windows Live Mail Message rules work... I would be happy to know.

    Thank you.

But not sure you have checked the "where the to line of contains people" and "where the CC line contains people".

These are a bit old but give the idea of basis - (OE) - http://www.am-novice.com/US/Computer/Logiciel/outlook_express/out_of_office_outexpress.html and (WLM) http://emailclient-expert.blogspot.co.uk/2011/04/out-of-office-reply-live-mail.html

    EDIT 1 - although having tried everything, I can't answer either :-(

    subsequently

EDIT 2 - I'm working, I think. In the rule description message between "to" and "cc:" I had to change the AND from where. Then I got an error report telling me that the response has not been sent because he would have been sent to my own account. I don't have any other accounts to test it with.

PS - is your POP account? He said something about the rules doesn't work don't not on IMAP.
