  Hi, I'm an older person who needs to change my PC and I need help. I currently have Outlook Express 6 on a Windows XP platform and I converted to Windows 7. I'm looking for a new e-mail application of simple base, I can access and manage my various emails from PC and different places (probably what we call an application based on Web - not sure). I also need a synchronization so that no matter where I am in this world, all my email folders are updated and synchronized.  I would like the app is also free of ads, and I don't want to be connected to Facebook, Twitter etc.

  Also, I need to be able to "convert" my current Outlook Express 6 for the new application emails.

  I read a lot and I am all confused and frankly frustrated by the descriptions/features/differences(or lack of) between Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail, Hotmail, Hotmail, Live, Outlook .com and would appreciate greatly a few simple recommendations and Advisor answering my basic requirements.

  It seems that the proposed use of the webmail is the way forward for the future.

  Your email in Outlook Express, you can export your emails and contacts to CSV files on your XP system, then import them into Windows Live Mail on Windows 7.  Outlook Express XP has been superceeded by Windows Mail in Vista and is just a slightly improved version of Microsoft Outlook Express.  Windows Live Mail is free email client only provided by MS for Windows 7, but it can be installed and run under XP, Vista or Windows 7.  It also works on Windows 8 for what it is worth.

  Windows Live Mail is roughly the same as Outlook Express, but when you run it under Windows 7 (or 8), that the menu bar is replaced by the new Ribbons that think MS in its wisdom is better.  They don't seem to realize that most of us have other things to do than reinvent wheels fixing things that are not violated.  They do not have ask my opinion if!  :-)

  There are many other e-mail programs, you can use with Windows 7.  I use Windows Live Mail, but if you're going to have Office, you can use Outlook.  There are also other e-mail clients 3rd part if you are so inclined, such as Thunderbird, Eudora, etc.  You can see a comparison of these on Wikipedia to

  1. in the develop module (maybe the other modules also) it does not seem possible to add a subfolder for the user Presets. If I right click on this folder and add a new Lightroom folder simply creates another folder in the list and not a subfolder as you wish. Is it normal? It would be nice to have separate subfolders in the user Presets representative hierarchy where they were coming for example from WOW, Matt K etc etc.

  2. Since the first day of work with Lightroom I have always kept my folder on drive D (applications on drive C) is predefined in a parent folder called LR which is also where is my backup catalog. This disc is of course faster to SMT. However, I just realized today that when right click on user Presets and choose Import, even if I point the folder on the D drive, where the LR Presets they are indeed copied in a same folder in C:/Documents and Settings/user name/Application Data / Adobe / Lightroom. Is it the way it should be and in fact are these Presets also stored in the catalog? The reason I ask this is that if they are actually stored in the catalog and are also copied to the folder on the C drive, then it seems very little interest to my locate my Presets user above on the D drive in the first place. I have found here simply for purposes of backup, but if they are found in the Catalogue which is saved in any case seems so redundant.

  Which means that there is a variable called N.

  I think what you mean is:

  if '&condition' = V then
  

  who will be sent to the compiler as

  if 'N' = V then
  

  Note that the variable substitution (as & condition) are evaluated and replaced before the code PL/SQL is compiled, you can use substitution variables, as in an anonymous block, as you do, but you can't use them in a stored procedure to get the running user input.

• Mailing list subscription page/double opt-in system problems

  So forgive me if I'm missing something, but as far as I know the with double-optin subscription process (as opposed to dominant double optin) currently looks like this:

  1. user enters the name + email + captcha
  2. the user receives the system message that the confirmation was successful
  3. the user receives the confirmation email (double optin)
  4. user clicks on check the link goes to the page to confirm the subscription
  5. the user receives the same message from system in step 2 that their confirmation was successful

  The main problem with the above is that nowhere in the above process are redirected users to check their email for a verification email, so they are quite often the whole double optin. Then, this forces users of BC to overried double optin or request in bulk optin to their users.

  So my question is: are there at - it a way or any script to customize step 2 system message if it tells users to check their email for the verification/optin email? Otherwise, the process is inherently flawed as users believe that they have been subscribed to the mailing list.

  Here's what I did. That's assuming you want to keep the process of Double Opt - In:

  (1) create a new landing page saying new subscribers to wait for an email asking them to confirm their registration. Site manager > Pages > Add Page > http://exampledomain.com/pleaseconfirm.html

  2) go to your subscription forms and add & PageID = / pleaseconfirm.html at the end of the string that begins with

  example:

  Now, the user experience will be the following:

  (1) they will go to your new landing page after completing the initial application form. Your new landing page should inform them that they will receive an e-mail requesting confirmation of the subscription.

  (2) the user receives the confirmation request email. PLEASE NOTE: The email they receive is that you create as the answering machine for this specific mailing list (E-Mail Marketing > lists > your list > Autoresponder tab) and NOT the Double Opt-In Email, listed in the Site Manager > email system. This is what is sent when you click the button "Email request Double Opt - In" subscription in the customer info tab in the CRM. This can be confusing.

  (3) when the user clicks on the link in the confirmation request email they will be directed to the system Pages > Email Marketing > request for Confirmation of subscription.

  (4) when the user clicks the button confirm in the subscription Confirmation request page, they will be directed to the system Pages > Email Marketing > confirmed subscription.

  If you do not create custom landing page, in accordance with the foregoing, the user will be directed to the system Pages > Email Marketing > subscription confirmed in TWO steps 1 and 4. That's what led to confusion, source of inspiration, the original question of this thread.

  At least this is how it works for me.
