  Using POP3 e-mail accounts - all good until you upgrade.

  For some users, the junk mail filters do not work on a new installation. A fix usually know them. All closed Windows Live programs, type wlarp in the start search box and press enter. In the window that opens, select repair...  When it is finished, restart the computer, then launch WLMail and test.

  As Matt says, it is better to train the filter spam via Junk Controls for dealing with all general waste. All the info to the address provided by Matt.

  The topic usually contains the email address?
  The 'FROM' 'Contains' 'e-mail address' would be perhaps more accurate.

  Your ISP (you buy your e-mail and the company's internet access service) allows you to have a number of free e-mail addresses. How it is depends on the particular ISP. If you are limited to three, you can probably get more if you pay additional fees.

  Contact your ISP to find out how much you get, and what (if any) you can do to get more.

  I manually added some spammers in the "list of blocked senders. Why do I still get emails from them, I thought that spam are supposed to be deleted?

  Instead of just blockind senders, you can be creative in the message rules.  You can configure message rules for words of subjects (for example "watches") and other situations.  Two good rules to have at the end of the list of rules that you use are one, set a rule that, if the message is for you (a lot of spam is not) then stop processing more rules.  Then set another rule later than move all messages from a folder junk e-mail for screening.  All messages that are not sent to you specifically will be dumped into the junk e-mail folder and then you can their screen and delete the junk in this way.

• Windows Live Mail and blocked top-level domain list

  Under spam / Security Options / International are a couple of tabs that I don't understand.

  Blocked the field list high level: since so much spam - and dangerous E-mail comes in general - overseas, it seems like an obvious ' block ' e-mail from all areas overseas.

  Blocked encoding list: yet once there are many foreign countries.

  As all my correspondents are in the United States or the Philippines, does make sense to block all foreign domains and encodings except in the Philippines?

  no need to block areas overseas. First off, with the sophistication of the software today, they could get around it if they really wanted. 2nd, not all negative messages comes from overseas. Third, you spam filter can be tweaked to handle much of the spam.
  My advice is just to pay attention to what you open... do not open attachments without first of all of their scanning.
  If you do not know the name... Keep it on the road!

• Mac is too slow, Mail is blocked and will not open!

  Two problems in one - slow Mac and the Mail app crashing!

  I am running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. Since the last few days my Mac slowed considerably and takes a long time to start, search, and perform several tasks. Everything freezes and the small circle of color appears in almost everything I try to do. After waiting for a while, it could be 4-5 minutes, I can get back to work.

  I used only about 150 GB of my 1 TB HARD drive space.

  Today the mail has crashed and when I click on the 'Open' button it goes down just yet once without opening the window. Other applications like suggestd and some internal applications also keep crashing.

  Can someone help me understand what to do? Thank you!!

  Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. I have a problem with your Mac after update of OS X El Capitan, is not what you expect. If I understand correctly, you are unable to open the mail and your Mac is running more slowly than expected. To refine and resolve this problem, I suggest these steps in the following order:

  1. start using disk utility to repair all easily correctable problem on OS X, or on your drive can be attributed to these issues by following the steps in this article:

  Disk utility (El Capitan): a disc repair

  2. then use Mode without fail to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks, remove files from the system cache, check your startup disk and trying to fix problems if necessary directory.

  Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning
  Graphics performance limited in recovery of OS X or in safe mode

  3. you can find out if this unexpected behavior is related to the user file or parameter in trying to reproduce the problem to a different user account. This process includes creating a new user account, connect to it and test for the issue.

  I, ve been using Thunderbird with success on my HP Pavilion p6060a (Vista) including attaching documents (pdf or Word) for outgoing e-mail via the notice that appears when the words "join" or "attached" are inserted at the end of the project email. However, in the past few days this installation did not work, and attempted, leads to a 'crash' of Thunderbird. I tried to uninstall Thunderbird and reinstall but it does not always help. I also sent several reports of accidents to Mozilla with no response. Help!

  You can attach files in the usual way of Edit/Attach (Ctrl-Shift-A), or it only crash when you join files after you type "join" in the body of the message?
