E2000 router

Hello

I need some advice... I use it E 2000 as free wifi for home use... When I put E2000 with the password in order to protect the ppl with my network... but once activate password... Internet cannot be access... When turn off the password... internet access do not have problum at all... How to solve it?

THX u.

So what you're saying is that when the password is enabled, you get Wi - Fi access, but when the password is disabled, everyone can connect?

What wireless security mode are you using?

The information you gave, it seems that you entered an incorrect password, or your wireless clients are not support the mode you have chosen.

If so, try this:

On your page of router, go to wireless tab then wireless security and choose WPA/WPA2 Mixed Mode and choose your password.

If that doesn't work try WEP and the same thing.

  • E2000 router and the NAS QNAP TS-212

    Hello

I've been a happy user of a quite old WRT54G and a NAS QNAP TS-212 for quite awhile.

But recently, the router is dead so I bought a new - this time, the model E2000.

Since then, the AFP (Apple protocol) connection to the NAS Server works only for a couple of hours after reboot of the router. I tried to restart the router and the NAS - only restart the router allows, in addition he has worked with the former, so I guess the E2000 is to blame.

The connection through the web to the NAS works all the time.

Any ideas where to look for a potential solution? How to diagnose what the problem?

    Kind regards

Does this happen with wired or Wi - Fi?

Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable and check to see if you face the same problem with the wired connection.

If it is with the wired connection too, then try the following.  In this case, you can try to reduce the speed of the LAN. Here are the steps:

START--> right click on my network places, and then click Properties

Right-click on the device, and then click Properties

Click on the button set UP

Select the ADVANCED tab and settings, you can change appear on the left.

If the problem is with the Wi - Fi connection and then try to change some advanced on the router settings wireless.

Open the router configuration page and go to the tab settings wireless wireless Advanced tab Change the tag to 75 interval, RTS threshold and fragmentation to 2304. Save the settings.

  • Problem HP 6500 wireless has more and linksys E2000 router

    Hello

Just bought a HP 65000 has more the printer today and want to connect it to my wireless router, which works very well for all my other devices and worked very well for my old Epson as well.

    The router configuration:

    Security: WPA/WPA2 Mixed Mode

    Channel: 6

    Band 2.4 Ghz

Configure a static ip address 192.168.1.22 for HP based on its mac address.

Sometimes printer says that it cannot find the network, which results in FAILURE messages on the wireless network test report. other times it connects, gets the right ip address, which translates as PASS messages on the test report, but it seems to disconnect again because he repeats to me it is not connected and I don't find it with any computer. The website of the printer is also not available.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your time.

  • Cisco Connect connects to the router E2000

I got an E2000 router, set up and works very well for years. Today, I tried to connect with Cisco Connect, I want to establish a network of separate comments (by the way, if there's a way to do this through the web management interface, please let me know!). However, the software is unable to connect to the router; the progress bar gets to 25%, and then eventually times out. I tried several computers on network, cable and wireless, with the same results. Any suggestions? Thank you!

I solved the problem; I activated the setting "Allow users to set up" in the "Administration" tab, as well as utility access Web via HTTP. I don't know which of these settings did the trick, but I was able to connect and configure the network invited (even from a PC wireless).

Help! I'm at my wit's end. I just bought a Linksys E2000 router and cannot find a way to get the router to connect wireless on my HP G60-235DX laptop (running Vista) via the WPA2 setting. I know that the Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g wifi adapter is the question, and I downloaded the latest driver update... and still have the same problems.

FYI - I can connect to the computer via the internet cable from the Linksys E2000 router so I know that it is not a modem issue.

    Help... PLEASE, I BEG YOU!

Thank you, thank you, thank you...

    Paul,

I solved the problem! After almost return the router to Best Buy today during lunch, I decided to give it a try more tonight and again call LinkSys. After almost decided with the Linksys officer that they only solution is to put another card in my computer, we stumbled on the question.

We have gone to 5.0 GHz to 2.4 and spent the 'auto' channel to channel 9.

And now my computer works like a charm (thanks also to update the driver as you instructed).

    Hello

As a first step put the computer near the router and start with the security off the coast.
When it works, take it back to the final spot. If it stops then working, then you have a problem of distance.

  • Linksys E2000 to into acccess point/switch helps.

Okay so here's the deal, we got At & T Modem/Router upstairs, and then we had a long cable ethernet connecting here in the basement. The problem is that this allows only a connection to the local network at the same time (a problem for LAN parties and others). I do have a Linksys E2000 router however and I want to be able to use it as a switch access point.
I'm sure this is possible, but I forgot all the steps to do so.
The att modem/router is running on 192.168.1.254 and my Linksys that is directly connected is on 192.168.1.1, so I have another address in this field.
What I need to change my Linksys settings now, or do I have to change the settings for at & t?
Basic steps would be appreciated, but I am familiar with the concepts of normal network, so you mustn't it level by the low that much.
Also I will use this for Xbox Live at points so will I need to re - open all the ports on my Linksys, or at least put the DHCP to static IP Xbox to keep my NAT good?

    Thank you

  • E2000 low connection speeds

I recently "upgraded" my router from a WRT54G for the E2000 and changed my computers wireless to USB - N adapters. At first, they were only 54 Mbps but found that I had to use WPA2 (I was in WPA) and after the change is made, I got from around 107Mbps to 130Mbps connections. (Even if these are dual band adapters, I can't enjoy 300Mbps because I left the Router 2.4 Ghz only because I have some only portable wireless-G and I understand that you can not on 5 GHz router because they do not connect.)  In any case, a few days later, when I checked these computers wireless n connection speed, one was at 5 Mbps, another 20 - something.  The signal strength is good at computers, as it has always been.  This router "modifies" speeds "as needed" or something?  Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think 2.4 GHz is faster than the 5 GHz Wireless band.

You can connect the router WRT54G of E2000 router to create a new 2.4 Ghz wireless network and allows you to broadcast the signal 5 GHz E2000 wireless router.

  • FIOS/E2000 problem

    Hello

A few weeks ago, I bought a router E2000 because I wanted the comments WiFi feature.  I ran EasyConnect, everything set up successfully and made a disc USB EasyConnect.  Everything was fine.

It was with Verizon DSL.  Yesterday, I had Verizon FIOS (telephone, television and internet) installed. Verizon installers will not help with a LinkSys Router, so he has set up the network using the Verizon router.  Now, I'm trying to configure the E2000, so I can use the WiFi from comments.  All I need is the WiFi guest: I'm happy to let the router Verizon DHCP and nothing else. FIOS requires their router is used because it is necessary to provide information of cable for the TV guide.  In addition, the output of the internet in the area of FIOS (NTA) is coax. So, I need to use the Verizon router and the E2000.  I started by connecting a PC cable to the E2000 and running the USB EasyConnect.  Which failed, because the EasyConnect connection could not find an internet connection.  So I added a cable since the E2000 router Verizon (both outlets numbered, not the internet), the power to bike on the E2000 and tried again.  This time he has not once again and was told that the computer is not connected to the router.  Apparently, EasyConnect requires a direct connection to an internet modem to work.  And the E2000 has the unpleasant feature configuration pages to browser to 192.168.1.1, that works well, is not able to set up the WiFi comments function: single EasyConnect can do.  Since EasyConnect will not work and the browser interface will not install the WiFi client, it seems that I'm dead in the water.

I tried the Linksys Online Chat.  They could not help, but he referred me to the helpline.  They took care of "set expectations" telling me that FIOS is such an obscure and rare technology that the router can not work at all with it.  They could not help with the problem, but rather, I rise to yet a higher support level.  They could not help, but said that someone at a higher level (so high that I could not get the phone number).   Needless to say that they do not have.

I don't know what else to do.  Does anyone know how do my guest E2000 work feature WiFi with FIOS?

    Thank you

    Mike

Linksys support called.  The lady was very knowledgeable and helpful, and did a great job.   Because I wrote it for myself in case I need it again, I thought I'd share.

To do this, each router must have its own subnet, with its own DHCP, so the Internet of the E2000 port must be connected to a numbered Verizon Actiontec router port.  The other approach, where there is only a single subnet and a regular port of the E2000 is used, won't work because CiscoConnect will not work if there is no internet connection available in its WAN port.  Unfortunately, that means MS printer and file sharing does not work between two subnets. That could be fixed by using the static if necessary routes, but I didn't do that.  The WiFi to a router can be used.  Since I wanted the comments E2000 WiFi feature, I'll use the E2000 WiFi.  The steps are:

    1. Connect the PC to the Actiontec router that needs access to the internet.
    2. Launch IE and access the Actiontec router at 192.168.1.1.  Log in, probably with credentials of (admin, admin) or (admin, password1) and turn off the WiFi.
    3. Download the most recent update of firmware and software of CiscoConnect.  Visit www.linksys.com, click support, enter router model E2000, click on download, select worm. 1 and download CiscoConnect for Windows and the latest firmware of the router.
    4. Connect the PC to the E2000 numbered ports and connect the Internet of the E2000 port to the Actiontec router ports numbered.
    5. Launch IE and the E2000 access 192.168.1.1.  Click on the Administration tab, then click on Firmware Upgrade, then browse to locate the firmware file (* .bin) downloaded previously, and then click upgrade.  Once the upgrade is complete, wait for the router power light stop flashing and go solid.
    6. If necessary to log in on the E2000 once again, or otherwise just refresh the page.  Click the Administration tab, and then click Factory Defaults, then restore to factory defaults, then restore all settings.
    7. Click the Configuration tab.  Change the IP Address of the router Network Setup of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1 and save the settings.  From now on, use this IP address to configure the E2000.
    8. Open a command window (from the command menu, type 'cmd' and press ENTER, click Run) & then run "ipconfig/release" then "ipconfig / renew".  The displayed gateway should be 192.168.2.1.
    9. Launch the previously downloaded CiscoConnect software.  Now, it should work.

    10. now, you can configure your E2000.  The router configuration to set the name of the router and the password for WiFi LAN connections, who is also the password for the configuration of the router.  Guest network allows to change the password for the guest network.  Click Add a computer to the parental control for wireless clients.

    That's all.  Enjoy.
