E3000 broadcast fails

Hello everyone, I got my E3000 for quite a while and basically just lived with this issue, but now I have a reason that I can't live with it anymore. Basically any program which uses broadcasts fails after a time. After reading the various posts it seems that it could be linked to the expiry of the arp. However I would like to explain my situation to see if someone can confirm. I have a NAS from Buffalo device, which has its own small gui that makes a mac address arp (whois) to find the SIN, it can control. Even if the IP is registry and I have the tcp session open to the Mount of the software fails and that emissions are never returned. Now if I play with the settings of the router specifically settings radio that everything started working but fail after an indefinite period. This also applies to my wireless printer that uses a bizarre broadcast Protocol IP-based printing. The same applies for my HDTV receivers that can display of the room room. they too distributed for other receivers and finally receive no response. I understand so WoL fails because the network card does not provide the MAC address of the router and gets so old. However, my devices ARE on and they communicate to the TCP layer and fail the broadcasts. Wireshark discharges clearly show the arp requests just not placed by the router to anyone, neither the router responds with unknown or anything, it just goes to the ether. I thought we'd have to tomato firmware just to see if that fixes it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

In fact, I updated the firmware and had no help was the WPS.

I've disabled the WPS and connected all manual and it all works of 2.4 to 5 and everyone at all.

It seems that if you have WPS and connect via WPS no you do not see the WPS machines and vice versa. Not that cisco will fix in this old of a router.

Probably something to do with two encrption different keys and not being able to translate between them.

  • WiFi does not work if the SSID is not broadcast by router

I have a new 55HX929 and tried to connect to my wifi with its built-in wireless adapter. I do not broadcast my network SSID the router for security and privacy. The searched TV network, does not, and then it asks to enter the SSID. Then, it saves the information and trying to connect but fails. If I enable SSID broadcast on the router and then the tv connects fine but I don't have to do. My tivo with its usb wireless adapter works fine with the SSID broadcasts do not when I configure the network settings. On the same stand as the TV with the power of the signal fine. I am currently using a wireless connected to the ethernet jack TV bridge to work around the problem, but it's a waste when the tv should work with a standard network configuration.

Reading sortiesdvd.com, people have the same problem with NX720 and Sony Google Internet tv. So it seems to be a common problem with Sony games.

I tried online support chat, and they were not able to help. Everything they told me to do was reset the router and tv which does not help. I don't think they understood that a SSID came from how they responded to my questions.

Can we get a fix for this?

Thank you for your messages. We have forwarded your comments to Sony engineering for future updates.

  • WG102 fails with iPad / iPhone with iOS 6 and WPA2 / AES - urgent correction necessary!

    Hello *.
    *
After upgrading my iPad to iOS 3 6 he constantly fails to connect to WiFi with WPA2 and AES - hidden or broadcast SSID - at home and at work because the device does not accept the WPA2 password. This is also the case for my iPhone 4s, but the two appliances worked with WiFi (WPA2 / AES) perfectly with previously installed iOS 5.1.1.
    *
I tried to downgrade to iOS 5.1.1 but it seems to be is no longer possible to downgrade the two iPad 3 and iPhone 4S as certification and maybe the viewport for iOS 5.1.1 was closed by Apple.

Strange behaviour seems to address a problem of firmware of the installed Netgear WG 102 APs that all do not allow the connection of iOS 6 devices with WPA2 / AES enabled :-(

Does anyone know about a possible solution to connect to WiFi with WPA2 and AES with 3 iPad / iPhone 4 and iOS 6 update for Netgear WG 102 APs?

Thanks a lot for any help and advice.

    Best regards from the Germany

The downgrade to 5.0.1 works. He fixed a connectivity with my two devices IOS 6, my wife 5 iPhone and my new retinal screen of the iPad. It does not appear to have caused problems of connectivity with other devices down to 5.0.1

  • PS B110a - wireless configuration will fail if the network has multiple access points

Photosmart B110a (CN245B) wireless AIO printer.

I have several wireless access points using the same SSID to provide coverage over a large area. When you install the printer on the screen TouchSmart wireless installation fails. Print report reveals the following error:

"More than one access point/router wireless was found which matches your network name (SSID). If this is not intended, your HP printer can connect to the wrong network. »

In my case this IS planned but there seem to be no available option to answer "OK, just connect to any point of access by using my SSID.  If I turn off all but one the APs configuration complete OK. If I have to do every time I turn on the printer the printer is USELESS for me.

    Did I miss something?

    sijomi

This should not be a problem.  I have a B110 (and another 10 or so HP wireless printers) on a network of airports with 5 access points and they just connect.

    Here are a few suggestions:

    1. don't use WEP - use WPA or WPA2 with a 13 + character password.

    2. enable the SSID broadcast on all access points

    3. do not use the MAC filtering acddress

    4. make sure "AP isolation" or "isolated wireless" is disabled.

    5. make sure that you are not on a private network, virtual, or connected to your network of comments.

    6. If different strings on access points do not work, try the same channel.

  • Linksys E3000 (changed to 199.182.166.168 DNS servers) No. Playstation Network Access

For a month I got weird pop ups on my IPAD, ANDROID phones, desktop computers AND home. I just thought that I had a bad month and I need to spend more time with my individual devices and get clean them. I then noticed recently, last week I was unable to connect to the Playstation network (NAT Type failed, the Internet connection Test failed). This was happening on my PS3 and PS4. I direct connect of PS4 and PS3 to my Modem cable from Time Warner and I have no problem. Everything works fine. But when connected to wireless or wired to my Linksys e3000... no dice.

I connect to my router and so some research. I noticed that my DNS servers are 199.182.166.168 and 199.182.166.169. I decided the router and then restart my cable modem. Routers Gets a new address and but there are still some problems with the connection to the network Playstaiton (could be downwards). I noticed that my IP DNS address is different.2xx.xxx.xxx.xxx.  I restore the configuration on the router and DNS goes back to 199.182.166.168.  This is all the information I have at the moment. When I get home tonight I'll have more information.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Is the router configured for DNS custom or did you automatically detect DNS of the ISP service and ISP modem?

What modem to ISP Mfr and model # do you have?

You could ask the ISP service as well about it. Usually they don't change DNS very often.

It is recommended to test for other DNS services if you want to use different DNS, you can use this:

  • No info from internet provider to my E3000 router from a bridged walkway to Arris T268G

I am a customer of Comcast and had my gateway Arris T268G filled so that I could use my E3000 router for a wireless/wired network. My configuration is: on the bridge in bridge at the entrance to the internet of my E3000 then the cable coming out at my SE2500 Ethernet switch which I then cable to my PC to the cable connection. No internet. My wireless router is broadcasting because I'm picking up signal but no internet connection. Looking at the dashboard of the E3000 'Status' tab there is no information for the internet provider. I hit the button refresh and renew the IP button and still nothing.

    (1) is my correct configuration?

    (2) is there a setting I should change to communicate correctly with the T268G gateway (defined in bridged mode)?

Peyates, it is possible that the IP address of the modem and the router's IP address are both in the same IP range. Change the IP address of the E3000 to, say, 10.10.10.1 before you connect it to the modem. In addition, if the DHCP server on the own modem is enabled, you can configure the E3000 and cascade via LAN to LAN to the modem.

  • E3000 can support 4 TB drive hard seagate ST4000DM000

Hello, I got a new drive hard seagate 4 TB ST4000DM000.

I try to use it on my Ver.1.0.04 E3000 (version 6) thanks to a hard disk USB 3.0 enclosure, but it failed.

The router nothing posted on the webpage of storage, the pilot are not not in the table of USB storage device.

so I formatted the drive on my laptop windows 7, of course with TPG and a single partition.

It is OK on my laptop now, but can still be found by the router.

Can Linksys pass the E3000, so the router firmware takes in charge the TPG and the new 4 TB harddrive?

The HARD drive may be too advanced for the E3000. The USB function on this unit has been tested to work only with the 1.5 TB. Here is the complete list of the tested on an E3000 USB devices. An update of the firmware is not likely to be released, either to improve the function of the DEVICE.

It would probably be best to upgrade your router. Check out EA6300. This last router is equipped with a USB 3.0 port, ideal for your HARD drive.

  • How to reuse an E3000 as a wired gigabit switch?

Hi, I am trying to configure my old e3000 as a wireframe only unmanaged gigabit switch, I disabled the wireless broadcast, is

It is something else I have to do?.

Should I enable NAT and RIP? Thanks in advance

You will need to disable the DHCP server (this essentially disables NAT) and adjust its local / router IP address to fit your network. To have the E3000 function as a wired switch, you must connect to the main router via its LAN port. For more information, refer to the article below. Follow the instructions on the LAN - LAN configuration.

  • Cannot connect my HP Photosmart c309g-m printer to my Linksys WRT54GC router. "No filtering = FAIL.

I have problems connecting my HP Photosmart c309g-m to my Linksys WRT54GC router.  The diagnostics report says "no filtering = FAIL" in all my attempts.

First I had implemented security wireless to the router with a personal WPA2 password.

Because this does not work, I spent my WPA security, given that the diagnostic report suggests that this is what he actually uses for encryption. This no longer works.

I double and triple checked the MAC address of the printer in my MAC filtering wireless settings. He was right. However, he didn't always connect.

Reluctantly, I turned MAC filtering. However, the printer still wouldn't connect.

Now, I'm out of options. All possible ideas for this problem?

    Here are a few ideas:

    1. check that the SSID is being broadcast.

    2. make sure that DHCP is active.

    3. don't use MAC filtering (it is not a security measure, in any case).

4 change the channel from router to 11.

  • E3000 and E4200 can extend wireless but when snafu disabled DHCP

    Hello

None of the many posts on the extension of the wireless here really solve my problem (I'm not a tech superstar so I need a little handholding).

Currently use E3000 as my router.  My House is a wonderfully old brick structure with awesome cast thick walls and cool hardwood floors (Yes, I already drilled twice to drop the Ethernet wiring and run it in my basement to the back of the House to come and connect to a switch where is my office to win 8)  Excellent results.

Now, I'm going to die just to run the wiring to the front of the House under the said floor so that I can bring it and attach a 2nd router. My sister-in-law gave me (just gave me, you the spirit wouldn't let me pay him!) sound E4200 that she can no longer use a reason any.

Goal: Best performance for a front of House wireless (my bedroom upstairs and the porch on the main floor, where routers are / will be.)  With the additional router in front of the House I will be finally in a smart cable TV.  I must just have better wireless at the front of the House b/c I do a lot of work here lately.* *.

    1. what router do you recommend using as the main router?

I tried to configure the e4200 (since the 3000 is already) and following the directions on all workstations. I updated the firmware, so the two routers are underway.  My understanding is that I need to put the 4200 (Router 2 "") in Bridge Mode and

set on the same channel current wireless router 1 (3000).

2 should I put the 2.4 and 5 Ghz on separate SSID Router 1?  If so, what do the SSID Router 2?

    3. If Router 2 has a separate SSID or should it be identical to my current network, that is, the Router 1?

    4. I understand that Router 2, you must disable DHCP because Router 1 is that work. BUT whenever I do this, in the process configuration, I can't get connected turn it on to Router 2.  I changed the IP address.   Router 1 is 192.168.1.1 with assignments up to 192.168.1.149.   So I do 2 router 192.168.1.2.   Is this good? I do this, then it restarts, and I connect in 192.168.1.2 "page not found".

    5. the way I go about it is:

-My Office 8 win (I call him Victor, FYI) is connected via a cable (switch) to 1 (E3000) so LAN router and I use to see what my settings are there (and here I'm typing this post).

-My Win 7 laptop (Richard, FYI), this is where I work on Router 2 (the E4200).  I have cut all connection without wire, then PC cable to Router 2 and connect to Router 2 and from there.

    That's what I should do? ***

    6. am I correct that Router 2 must be in Bridge mode?  Whatever it is, please teach me - it means I'm setting up to repeat the signal or as a little separate LAN that is connected?  Which is better, in your view, given my objectives, above?  When I'm on 'the extension', it would be ideal to be able to go to the first/main network and send things my printer / PC is there, but I'm willing to put up with less of this in order to get the good signal in my areas of work from the home front.

Note also that the family and I move and use several devices, so it would be fantastic if me and her husband and son and daughter (think: several tablets, phones, computers laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, blah blah blah in this House - I know, I know a lot more about networks I've always wanted to know!) can just get the signal stronger as we move.

Thanks for any help you can give and of course I would knew what key information I can be left out. I'm really dying to get up and running.

Position outside to clear my head, but will be back.

    Thanks again.

    Bonnie in PA

I recommend using the E4200 as your main router.

Cascade the E3000 with your LAN E4200 to LAN.

Cascading 'LAN to LAN' instruction in the link below:

In waterfall or connect a Linksys router to another router

Thing to keep in mind when cascading a router:

    1. Change the IP address of the secondary router to something like 192.168.1.254 so its on the same network, but is not in conflict with the main router
    2. Make sure that the DHCP service is disabled on the secondary router
    3. Make sure that nothing is ever connected to the Internet port on the secondary router
    4. Have the different SSID of 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz
    5. Duplicate configuration on routers wireless, but make them broadcast on different channels or put the chain wireless on 'Auto '.
