  I wrote a program to view lab for agilent E3631A triple output power supply in constant voltage mode, and I want to update to operate in constant current mode also. But I can't find any function in the Instrument of e/s, which is related to the current but only the current limit I already used to write my programs to the constant voltage mode.   How can you not have a c:\ drive?  What kind of PC are you running?

  Try to rename the .exe is a zip file.  Then see if you can open it using winzip or another zip program to be able to drag files manually.

  Im trying to access the computer via a cable RS 232 for sully power DC E3631A agilent use labview to operate the instrument. But the instrument is now detected by the computer and when I check instruments instruments connected tools-tool-find, told me no device not connected. I tried to use max by changing the configurations, but so far it doesn't work anymore. Please can someone tell me what to do

  I don't know if MAX is the instruments of automatic detection on the serial port.  You can contact the instrument using Hyperterminal or something like that?  Also make sure you serial port settings are all correct (it is the most common reason).

  Here are two approaches. First being the easiest, simply put a delay between written VISA. The second being a more robust because it allows you to develop a series of commands by simply adding the string array.   In this topic, we will discuss some of the common problems that have been observed using devices with LabVIEW on Windows operating systems.  Many of these points apply also in other environments, but the examples will use the Windows 7 operating system.

  FAQ 1: USB device stops working unexpectedly.

• Applying a mathematical operation of string data

  I am a PSU (E3631A Agilent) interfacing via GPIB. When the power supply is turned on to 12v and a device consumes current 104mA, vi reading gives a data string + 1.04485600E - 01. Now shown data are right, but I want it to appear on the front panel as 104 or 0.104 instead of exp + 1.04e format - 01. One way is to multiply by 10 and one way is to divide by 100 and maybe way to convert a simple decimal number. Any body can help me to get simple 0.104 or 104 out of the string above please.

  If this is the answer of the exact string you can use the Exp/Frac string to number function to interpret the content of the string in Double. You can then use a digital sign with the defined display format, but you want to ensure you get a rounded number. I think a '%.3f' format specifier should give you 0.104

  Hi nvnewbie,

  In fact, your problem has nothing to do with your structure of data acquisition, although on both of your diagrams of block, you do not have the entry in the file cable write to the file of the measure, if you log all the data. It must wire your table to the input string to write on a file of measures.

  The delay you see is expected; set the output current limit to set it up and screw out of reading in the Agilent E363X Instrument Driver Library all call query VI error, which is also within the Agilent E363X instrument Driver Library. Error query VI has a built in 1 second delay to ensure that there is not a timeout when communicating with the E3631A during the series. You can see this delay by yourself if you open your SubVIs in your block diagram.

  Given that you call the exit configure, configure current limit, and screw out of reading with each iteration of the penalty loop, which is 3 seconds delay guaranteed each time the while loop iterates. It is also integrated into these screws themselves, so this delay adds up to 4 seconds of delay. If you want to reduce this time, you can change the error query VI in order to reduce the delay, but I think this causes time-out errors if you slow forward. Series is not made for communications high speed. Alternatively, you can rewrite your code to call only the exit set up and configure current limit live when you need to adjust the settings.

• Problem with driver with Agilent 6031 A feeding

  I tried to develop my first application of cvi in which I need to use a power supply (model Agilent 6031 A). I first use direct command of GPIB and I managed to make it work, but with some difficulty, due to the fact that sometimes orders are missed.

  So I downloaded the driver from the website of OR, and I tried to implement in my code. I found a problem with the first statement, the init it. Here is my code:

  Found the problem. Food must be set of SCPI commands on the old controls ARP using "SYST:LANG".

• Agilent ENA s3p file

  I'm looking for something fairly simple to generate a file s3p for my Agilent E5071C Network Analyzer.  I guess my greatest need is to find a way to get scanned data.  At the moment I have just set up the 9 tracks (S11, S12, S13, S21, S22, S23, S31, S32, S33) and then configure my markers and take individual measures.  There must be a way to collect a data table on a bandwidth of a trace.  Anyone know how?  Thanks in advance.

  The problem has been resolved relatively easily on mine as follows:

  Use the VISA Write block to send the following strings:

  • : MMEMorytorusNP:FORMat AUTO
  
  
  • : MMEMorytorusNP:TYPE3 P 1,2,3
  
  
  • : MMEMorytorusNPATA 'C:\filename.s3p '.

  The Agilent ENA Series.lvlib:File transfer from storage Device.vi allows to recover the file from the Network Analyzer and store it in a local file.

  Again, I have no problem to find a solution on my own (obviously), nor do I have problems with a lack of support or answer, however, I have a problem with the comment ironic and demeaning.  Please keep to yourself if you do not have any positive suggestions for those seeking honest suggestions and help on this support forum.  Thank you.

  I use the function generator to Agilent/Keysigt 33511 B to produce a square wave with offset, amplitude and frequency specified. However, I'm unable to set the duty cycle. Is there a VI to control this setting?

  If you use this driver , I think that there is a function named .vi configures signals Standard Advanced (square) and it has an entry for the duty Cycle, so I think this could help you.
