E520 touchpad without left-click functionality

Hi all!

I have serious problems with my Thinkpad Edge E520.

The function of mouse-click-left of my UltraNav and Touchpad don't work anymore.

The buttons are clicking normally, but have all the features.

I use a dual boot with Win7 Home Premium SP1 and Ubuntu LTS 12.04.1 system

I did several checks:

  • Button navigation and do a right click of the touchpad works properly
  • Touchpad left - click with the button-button clicking correctly, but no functionality
  • Touchpad click on feature does not
  • UltraNav Trackpoint and rickt-click-button works correctly
  • UltraNav left - click with the button-button clicking correctly, but no functionality
  • switching the results of left-handed configuration in a work correctly right click button with left click for Touchpad and UltraNav function
  • External USB mouse works fine with Win7
  • External USB mouse works do not correctly with Ubuntu (no left click feature)
  • Fresh format and reinstall the system dual boot - remaining problems

Since the behavious is also the same with Win7 and Ubuntu and rest after a new installation of two BONES, I guess it's a hardware fault!

Any suggestions?

I have the fix.  at least my T410s correction.  The Ultranav is bad and must be replaced.  You can disable the Ultranav buttons and you get back to the left click on the keyboard and press the Ultranav double-click, but you lose the functionality of the two lower buttons.

Fortunately, I have access to another form w / similar T410s that worked very well.  I decided to change the keyboard, but there was not change.  So I then swapped the palmrest with the Ultranav and presto!  It works again!

My conclusion is that the Ultranav went wrong and fastest solution is to get a new palmrest with Ultranav.

Peace out!

  • E540 Touchpad Government only right click, left click cannot

    Hello community,

I recently purchase a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 540 and it worked very well until early today (bought around mid-June).
While I was browsing the internet, some how my touchpad developed a problem.
TI only Government right click when ever I click.

I deleted the drivers, though even they knew her point ones, downloaded a fresh .exe and installed after the reset and it not and it still has the same problem.

If I disable the touchpad on the ultranav software and activate the single trackapad, buttons work as it should, the large surface in the Government of touchpad as left click and the small area at the top right are registered as the right click. Although I can't use the touchpad for navigation.

So clicking on does not work, well good or not tapping. Can I doubletap normally, but I can't tap and drag as the choice of a block of text.

Yet once, I tried a new install of drivers ultranav and it did not work. The problem manifested itself during normal browsing, nothing has been installed or changed hardware vise. It literally changed in a second.

It's a really strange problem and I have no idea how to solve because reinstall the driver did not work.

    I appreciate any help, thanks.

Good news, happy that flatten you it.

    FOR ANYONE WITH THIS PROBLEM:

    1. uninstall your UltraNav drivers;

    2. restart your plan of the Tower;

    3. allow Windows to find and install the generic drivers touchpad;

    4. Download official UltraNav driver Lenovo support page and install.

  • Disable Synaptics Touchpad tap to click through registry?

I have a laptop HP-G60-553NR 3 year and enjoyed with a Synaptics Touchpad (OS is Windows 7 64-bit).  I use the latest & greatest, driver recommended by HP:

    2009-08-28, version: 13.2.2.0 has

This driver no longer works well at all (erratic click functions, unstable, moves through the screen on its own, etc.), but there were no other updates from HP and uninstalls / reinstalls multiple set.  After a ton of frustration, my only solution is to download & install the latest Synaptics driver:

    2013-02-25, version: 16.3.15.1 (Windows 8/7/XP/Vista 32/64-bit Edition)

In principle, it worked well and the stability is back, but with a problem; I lost any opportunity to change the Touchpad settings - and with this driver, Tap-to-Click is ENABLED by default and I want to turn it OFF.  I lost the "Device settings" tab in the control panel there are long (not), but there was also a mini-outil of support which could be installed/activated in the system tray where I could switch tap to click power.  This option is no longer possible because if I install it, it reverts back to 13.2.2.0 driver.

My dilemma: 1) I can't go back to the old driver because it's a disaster.  (2) I need to stay with the new driver, but I hope to find a way to disable tap-to-click.

I see only three solutions: 1) maybe the gurus of HP or some of you who monitor these forums are aware of a more recent version, stable driver that works with my particular model or 2) someone can instruct me the keys in the registry, turn the tap to click on/off so I can turn it off myself (, or 3) use external mouse all the time (which is hard to do when the mobile).

Synaptics doesn't give any support and simply tells the user to 'contact your manufacturer', so here I am.  Any guidance would be appreciated.  In addition to this problem, my laptop is rock solid.

    Thank you!

    SOLVED!

I continued to try to solve this problem after the validation and finally found at the level of the program folder Files\Synaptics\SynTP.  I noticed there are several requests here, so I started to run them one by one.

SynTPEnh.exe is the latest version of the mini tool, "Synaptics Touchpad Enhancements" that I had used.  It offers the possibility to load only once, or allow to load at startup in the system tray.  Left click + functions simply open the Control Panel, but right click + displays the appropriate menu where I can uncheck the tap to click.

I hope this information is useful to others, because there are like mine all the ' web on several different platforms.

  • System Restore won't work, drives available: HP (C :) (Missing)?) Left click on the mouse also stops randomly works, works fine in safe mode.

My computer is upward, slow-running and my mouse will just randomly stop left click. I can switch the service so click right not left click function, but then cannot do the right click function. I had created a restore point before installing a program called Cain and Abel on my computer and it was just a couple of days.

When I tried to do a restore, I got a message saying I needed turn the system restore. Then my computer froze so I restarted it and selected "System Recovery" and tried to do a restore to the point that I had created before that Cain has been installed. I got a message saying that the restoration has failed then I restarted mode without failure. When I restarted in safe mode, both left and right click was working again but I got a message saying that something has been altered (I didn't write it down so you do not know what it was). He says to run CHKDSK, which I did and then the computer seemed to work again.

This is temporary, I lost my left click again and now have swung it for do the right click, left click is supposed to do, but really need to be able to do both types of clicks.

I go in to the restoration of the system, and it says I need to turn it on. When I go into system properties to turn on, the disc I want to activate to says "HP (C :) (Missing)) ' what this means and how do I do the restore point I have created 2 days ago from work?

I brought the laptop 4-5 months ago, and putting on listening and left click function stop, I tried to roll the driver and updated, the next day, it worked, but after maybe a week later it stopped working again. Can I get a what? Thanks for you response.

    Hello
Welcome to the Forums of Discussion of the user.

If you encounter problems with left click with your laptop, enter the properties of the mouse and move the buttons left and right. If the problem persists with the left main service will be necessary.

as for your question of tapping, you may have lost the touch pad utility, and default properties driver USB mouse from Microsoft he crushed.
Reinstall the Notebook control and utilities to restore the utility to the touchpad.

  • Portege R30 - Touchpad left click or tapping in do not work

    Hello

Left click or tapping in do not work.
Tried to reinstall the driver or restart in safe mode, but it works only for 2-3 minutes and stops again.

    Hello

Computer laptop additional AccuPoint support. Right?

Go to control panel-> mouse-> device-> advanced features parameters settings
Here, you will be able to change the setting for Accupoint as well as for the touchpad.
I recommend to check all options that could affect the left-click or press

But if you can exclude all software related issues (like the touchpad driver failure or wrong settings) and if you are not able to solve the problem by retrieving the unit while the problem might be related to a hardware malfunction of touchpad.

  • Satellite C650D - left click on the touchpad does not work

    Hello

The left-click on my touchpad has stopped working. It works * very * sometimes, but mostly it's not. It also freezes the screen if I try to click on it too often (in a bout of mood usually ;)))

A USB mouse works fine, who of fine when I work on my desk but means that I can't use my laptop on my lap! The tap click works, but I do not use it.

I reinstalled the drivers and that he has not solved. I flipped the laptop and gave it a good shake to get rid of all the crumbs etc. under the mouse and that he has not solved.

    Any other ideas?

    Hello

Might be possible that there is a mechanical problem with the touch of the touch pad
By pressing the button too often could lead to the freezing system because of the stress of CPU and the load.

In my opinion the unique (if possible) button or the touch pad Board must be replaced.

  • Satellite A200-1YX: sometimes Touchpad left click

My A200 is 20 days. OS is Vista Home OEM.
From time to time, my left touchpad product clicks, which can be very annoying if I write something.

I know it's left click, because if I have large text, my cursor appears from time to time in the line where the pointer is at the moment.

I tried with the uninstall/install Touchpad drivers, but it did not solve my problem.

    Best,
    VJT

    Hey, Dragan

Please don t be angry with me, but I n t think a touchpad could create left clicks automatically.
I think that you accidentally hit the surface of the touchpad while typing, and consequently, the cursor put another position.

Try to disable the touch pad using the FN + F9 key combination and check if it happens again

  • Touchpad left click not working on Satellite L650

    Hello

I have a problem with my touchpad and I tried everything I would be gratefull if someone here has helped me...

My problem is that I can't with my touchpad left click, the button does not nor does tying tape, while the right button works.

I have Internet when suddenly it failling starte and dragging everything I clicked, and then it just stoped working.

Also, I went into the left-handed touchpad mouse and dial-up options, and when I click with the left button right button works, but then the right click (it is now on the left) does not work nor done typing.

This means that the material of touchpad (touchpad buttons) are ok.
You should check if new installation of the software/driver touchpad help you get rid of this annoying problem.

In Device Manager, you must first remove the touchpad device. Restart the computer and then install the touchpad driver once more.

P.S. If you have any help please try to be specific I'm not terribly good at working with computers.

    Thank you.

    Hello

You may have a hardware problem and need a good computer shop (no leeks and peaks at)
a Best Buy or a big box store) or the technical support of the system manufacturer.

Panel of configuration manager devices - mouse and pointing devices - Double click on the touch pad-
The driver tab - click on Update Driver (which is may not make anything like MS is far behind certifying)
(drivers), now right CLICK on the touchpad and UNINSTALL.

Then go to the USB and UNINSTALL ALL controllers except the category itself (all in).
    RESET

This will refresh the driver for the TouchPad and battery USB.

Here is the similar procedure in XP, Vista is the same, except that we need to clear the specific
    device if present.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310575

Then go to the system manufacturer's website and get the latest touchpad drivers to install or reinstall.

Download - SAVE - go to where you put it-click on - RUN AS ADMIN.

    ================================================

Parameters for TouchPad located in the control panel - mouse (there may be several tabs with TouchPad
entries) and some have a utility that loads in the Notification area next to the clock in the bottom right.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello

    1. What is the exact model of the laptop number?

    Method 1:

I suggest you to check if the easy access in Windows settings are appropriate.

You can specifically uncheck the Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse to the title of the ease of access Center if activated.
You can refer to the link below for more details on the same-

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/make-the-mouse-easier-to-use

Method 2:Remove drivers touchpad from Device Manager, and then reinstall.

To reinstall the drivers for the touchpad by uninstalling current drivers

Sometimes, there may be driver errors that prevent the touchpad from working.

    a. Click Start; on the start menu, search type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER.
    b. If you receive a quick click, consent to continue.
    c. expand mice and other pointing devices.
    d. right-click on the component of touchpad and click on uninstall.
    e. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer.
    f. download the latest drivers for the touchpad of your computer manufacturer website and install it.

Try to follow the link provided to update a hardware driver that is not working properly and check the question below.

  • After execution of the new updated Adobe, HP Elitebook 2760p left click on the touchpad button has stopped working.

Original title: left click not working not not on HP laptop

On my HP Elitebook 2760p running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, left click on the touchpad button has stopped working.  The right click works, the works of pad, (scrolling and click on) it's just the left click.  It started after the execution of the new update of adobe. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver synaptec. I tried the mouse fast and slow speed. I tried pressing rigid, flexible, in different places. I would try to uninstall the update from Adobe, but it won't allow me.  So I uninstalled Adobe Reader and re-installed. Still nothing. Any suggestions?

    Hi cyrilmillot,

You try to run the Adobe Reader removal tool to remove the Adobe reader completely the system software.

See the link to Adobe to download the removal tool:

  • Holding the drawing rectangle left click on the screen - what is it?

On my desk and some Web pages, I can press the left mouse button, drag it, and he draws a rectangle - as it is to select a field. Release the mouse button the rectangle disappeared and wondering what it was all about. The area inside the rectangle is not highlighted in some way. However, when there is a picture (photo) on the page, SOMETIMES (without moving the mouse), the left click highlights the image in blue degraded even if the pointer is not on the image. It's like a painting - where the rectangle selects an area to be edited, only this doesn't give any options or menus to consider after the rectangle has been established - and then disappears with the release of the button. What is c?

    Hello

This design, and you don't have to worry about this. It's normal.

When we have a left-click on the desktop or any empty space (white) away from all the folders and drag it will show you a rectangle, also an area shaded inside the rectangle will appear.

The function of left click drag is to select so it continue to look the same.

    It will be useful.

It is a strange problem that I have, I got the laptop computer now for a month or two, and I'm sure it makes it I got it. The problem is pretty much the title. I can't press the letters or numbers and then left click without a 1 second or so delay, I also can not left click at all if I hold down without letting go of taken, once I do the delay still occurs. I can press the keys of arrows then left click without thin delay (where left-click is delayed / disabled right click still works.) I know that the clicks get detected as the tray icon still points out the tactile/left button when it is used.

Some information that may be required. The driver is more recent than the one on the download section for this laptop, but I had tried both and still happens. (Also tried uninstalling both and using the default Microsoft drivers but still no luck.) Keyboard supplied with no driver and no listed on downloads. Also, "Rejection of TP" is already disabled.

Come here for some reason that I can't edit the first post.

I decided that I was going to send my laptop for repairs that my arrow began to act ladle which meant that I could hardly play a game at all. I thought as a last attempt I would completely reset my computer using restore integrated Windows 8 and it worked. I can now use the keyboard and click at the same time. Although the up arrow is still a little shady, I'm happy. I thought that I would be post that incase someone else had made this experience so that they can try and so know that it worked for someone else, if you've had the experience and it does not work so good luck to find a solution.

Update - I've narrowed it down, the problem is Windows 8.1 Overview. (Which is in beta so problems are expected). If you are considering upgrading to windows windows 8.1 8 with this model of laptop, I would strongly suggest against it.
