  Hi all

  I recently bought a Satellite A100-033 (pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Basic Edition).

  The manual indicates the location of an internal microphone and there is a small slot on this place. However, attempts to use suggest that it does not work. External microphone works very well.

  Some A100 models do not appear to have an internal microphone (after a search through messages here). Can someone tell me if the A100-033 don't? Thank you.

  As already mentioned the series of laptops comes with different hardware specifications, and not every laptop supports the same features.
  Laptop Satellite A100-033 does not support the internal mic.
  It s is simply not available and you need to use externally.

  I'm trying to get my friend (whose book it is) upward and running with Skype. See "sound and Audio" capacity/parameters in the control gives the 'impression' Panel is a built-in microphone, I was not able to get Skype or Microsoft Sound Recorder works, so suspect it is not. If this is the case, any suggestions for a cheap microphone and where to get a greatly appreciated.

  Not sure about the audio drivers.
  In my view, there are some drivers available here as of June 2008, which I think are more recent than those currently installed and will gladly download and try if it has an internal microphone and the answers are that is what I have to do.

  This laptop supports the external microphone jack and you can connect an external microphone to this Jack to record an audio or use Skype.

  I am the owner of a Satellite a100-912 and I want to improve his memory!

  As far as I know that the FSB is capable of managing modules to 667 Mhz.
  You can use the lower modules (533 Mhz) without any problem but modules with superior Mhz will not work at full speed because of the limit BSF.

  So I t recommend buying 800 Mhz modules. First of all, they are not supported and secondly it s waste of money!

  I'm looking to upgrade the memory of my laptop. The vehicle currently have 2x1GB modules in the expansion slots. The manual says it takes PC4200 200 pin memory, but does not specify if it will accept 2 GB sticks as this http://www.ebuyer.com/product/164911. It does not mention of the sticks of 256 MB, 512 MB and 1 GB.

  However, I see no reason why he would not support the higher capacity, if I wanted to move to 4-GB memory total. Can someone confirm that this will work? Thank you!

  According to the specs on the page of Toshiba, Satellite A100-998 supports 2-GB memory modules. This means that you can install the 2 GB of memory in each memory slot for a maximum capacity of 4 GB.

  For example, I recommend high-quality Kingston modules. I always buy Kingston modules for upgrade and never had any problems.

  I Don t really know what device it is, but you can for example try a linux live cd. The live cd lists you start a list of pci devices so you can find that materials are in your machine.

  Alternatively, you can perform a search in google for 'list of pci Vista' and you might find some pci list of tools that can help you get information about unknown material thjat.

Everything works perfectly in addition to having problem reading external usb HDD (disk appears in disk management, but are not accessible). These discs are not defective, because I use them on some other Pcs. Thumb drives are not a problem at all. Tried to use the self-powered USB hub but without success.   American books have different model description as the European specifications. I checked your other job offers, and I assume you are trying to find the Vista drivers. Am I wrong?

  It is very important to know if this problem is caused by faulty material or because of software. To be 100% sure I recommend you to use a few methods.

  First try to connect the external monitor to your laptop and please check if the same thing happen on the external monitor. If so the reason may be the faulty graphics card. Otherwise, you can also install OS using recovery delivered DVDs. After doing this you will have factory again and the good drivers will be installed. If the problem persists, it may really be due to faulty hardware (graphics card or screen).

  Sorry, but it's really not easy to say with certainty what the problem is here. Please do not wait too long and if the guarantee is valid that the technicians check your laptop. The warranty will cover all repair costs.

  I checked the features of this unit, and according to some descriptions internal microphone is NOT available. There is a mic jack. Here, you can connect the external microphone.

  It is possible that some units of this series support and are delivered with the internal mic, but not the Satellite A100-756's.
