E530 - i7-3612QM - Vt - d support?

Hello

the thinkpad E530 could be delivered with a core i7-3612QM. This processor are available in two versions, one with the support of Vt - d without him.

Do you know if E530 with the core i7 is ok for Vt - d?

Hello

VT - d support depends first of all on the main motherboard chipset.

The Intel HM77 chipset built on the edge of 530 with i7-3612QM has no VT - d support.

So even if the i7 processor supports the MB does not work.

  • E530 replace Wireless Adapter that supports Dual Band?

I bought my E530 of the local computer store and it came with the wireless adapter "Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 (2 x 2 BGN & BT4)" which does not support the Dual Band wireless. I am now looking to replace it with an adapter which favour the a/b/g/n wireless, but I'll have to find the correct model/part number wrong. I tried to look for her service parts guide but I have not found anything. I also tried to search for it using the "ThinkPad a/b/g/n Wireless BT Combo (2 x 2 ABGN & BT4.0)" card name (mentioned in the customization options) with no result.

So does anyone know the name appropriate wireless adapter and the part number for the Board that supports Dual Band on E530 supported? Also, I would be grateful if someone could reference where I could buy it.

    Thank you.

Interface PCI-E of all cards are using any chipset you have. 60Y3253 is the half size PCI-E and has no integrated bluetooth so you lose this feature, but if not, it should work perfectly. You can also call Lenovo support and ask the FRU for the 2 x 2 for the E530 cards although I doubt you'll find a some of them to sell now that the model is fairly new and not as popular as the T and X series.

  • E530 supported wifi cards

    Hello

I recently bought an e530 edge and am under Arch Linux on it. The wifi card supplied with the machine is a broadcom BCM43228. Because I bought the machine from the New Zealand online shop I have the possibility to opt for the map intel.

Now I have problems with wifi because the wireless driver of linux for the card 'broadcom-wl' is a proprietary software and is not well supported.

My question is, if I buy an Intel Centrino Wireless - N 2230 card and replace it myself will I run into any problems with the card being whitelisted by the BIOS? Change the map void me the warranty somehow?

Good day and welcome to the community.

If you want an Intel card, looking at parts FRU E530 listing, you should go with WiMax 6250 (60Y3195) card to avoid problems on the white list. It is dual band and uses a configuration of 2 x 2 antennas.

Looking at this page: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-and-parts/detail.page?&DocID=PD023285 the WIFI network is an optional service of CRU.

I hope this helps a little.

    Kind regards.

I would like to know if the motherboard (chipset-socket) to a Satellite C50-A-1FW supports an i7-3612QM?

    Hello

Satellite C50-A-1FW motherboard support Intel HM70 Express Mobile Chipset.
Take a look at this page-> PRODUCTS COMPATIBLE Intel
    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/67419/Intel-bd82hm70-PCH

    You will find processors supported.

But beware: processor upgrade is not supported by the laptop manufacturer. Although the chipset would support the new processor, the BIOS may not support this CPU.

In this forum, you can find many discussions on upgrading processors. In each thread, you will find information that these updates is always risky, and no one knows if it will finally work.

  • ThinkPad E530: Windows 8 COA sticker missing

Recently, I bought Thinkpad E530 mobile computer with Windows 8 Pro installed. However, I did not receive installation disc and there was no COA sticker anywhere. I also checked under the battery. The seller says something like "it's something new with Windows 8 and sticker is no longer necessary.

I tried first to get assistance on Microsoft website, but after entering Windows 8 PID I learned that I would have to pay for it, because my copy is supported by Lenovo.

Contacting Lenovo has proved to be a challenge. I was just unable to find a way to do online. Only way seems to be by phone and:

    1. I'm not willing to pay for international calls

    2. I want, a written confirmation, so I put pressure on my seller

So, I really need to know, how to communicate with Lenovo and ask two things:

    1. How can I install media?

    2. How can I get the key of Windows 8 (for example to install the new copy) and the COST is really more provided.

    Thank you in advance.

    Correct COST is over supplied.

If you want to learn more about the PID, see http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows-8/a/windows-8-product-key.htm

I have a TechNet subscription, so I have no problems with getting ISOs for Windows 8 Pro (which I'm available for). Once you get the correct version, you should be able to install the operating system without even having to enter the product key.

  • ThinkPad E530 Max RAM upgrade

    Hi all

    My laptop is E530 and Corei5 3210 TM processor @ 2.5 GHz.

    The tech specs here says:

Ivy Bridge compatible DDR3 and DDR3L. But you can buy DDR3L (1.35v support) for the extra battery life, it gives you.

Also note that when you buy a module of memory for your laptop, you buy a SODIMM and not a bar of MEMORY. Modules DIMM is longer and does not fit into a laptop. SODIMM is made for laptops.

Note that if you have doubts, you can call technical support and they can understand all of this for you. Or you can buy the memory from the link I posted above.

If you have a DDR3 module installed and you insert a DDR3L module, both will run to DDR3 specifications. The module DDR3L simply starts to operate at a higher voltage.

  • E530 fan problem

    Hello.

I bought my E530 6 months and computer laptop fan does not work at full speed, even if it is already very hot? IM really concern as my laptop will wear quickly.

    Thanks for help.

Your best bet is to contact your local customer support.  Laptops running more hot than workstations because components are more closely packed.  There are coolers designed to be placed under a laptop but I have no experience with how well they work.  In addition, you can use the Soft Power Manager to reduce the power that will make the laptop run more cold but slower.

  • E530 Win XP video drivers

    Hi all

I'm trying to get Win XP Pro SP3 installed on two E530s and I'm running into a small question. After installing the video drivers Intel HD Graphics, the screen becomes black during the boot process and never turns on. I can always connect via RDP or VNC. I tried both versions of the different drivers of Intel.

Since there is no driver available for download from Lenovo XP, I have a feeling that the E530 could be one of the first portable computers without shoring of XP driver? Has anyone else able to get XP working on these new laptops?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

    André

    Hi altbg,

Welcome to the forums and thanks for posting. Regarding your question, the machine you have is the latest high-end Lenovo. However in this matter reason being that all of our support has Win7 supported only id drivers due to the fact that Microsft Windows XP has already reached their end of life for the driver XP Roll-out.

I wish there was more that we can do on the end of Lenovo, however, he came to this circumstance. The only solution I can suggest atthis point is by downloading directly from the site of maufacturer of device.

I really wish I can seat you futher in this cause, but no alternative can be brought forward to other installation Win7 driver for taking.

Agagin I really apologize, but don't let me know if you need other forms of assistance.

  • E530: is not completely shutdown/restart/sleep/setting Hibernate

    Hello!

I have a brand new E530 Edge with ssd drive intel 520 and i7-3612qm CPU. Latest versions of the drivers are installed.

The problem is that it only stopped completely - no display shuts off, but fan and LED lit. Same thing happens during sleep, hibernate, restart.

However, in safe mode it t-stop and restart correctly. It does so without any drivers (tried to reinstall Windows 7 and Windows 8 several times).

Sometimes (like 1 in 20 tests), it is shut down properly. I was not in a position to know what driver (or combination) are the problem.

Any advice will be appreciated. I really don't want to go RMA way probably all is needed is a patch/fix.

Finally found the source of these symptoms. It was a 2nd drive hard ebay cart.

To resolve this problem, I had to disassemble the hard drive caddy and remove one of the pins SATA (details - http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-business-class-notebooks/655065-hp-elitebook-8560p-wont-shutdown...)

    Now, the laptop works perfectly!

  • Update on E530 RAM. What to look for

    Hello

I read somewhere that update the RAM modules on the E530 machine is recommended to speed up the laptop. As I have no specific knowledge of the present, I would like to ask for some advice. I can buy any RAM or is there a maximum. There are currently 2 x 4 GB installed factory, but from what I understand that's not the best quality.

You can install any RAM as long as its 204 pin?

I'm looking at them, I saw that he suggested in a different thread:

IV ' e also were offered, although little used: http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-1600MHz-Laptop-Memory-CMSO16GX3M2A1600C11/dp/B009M0TFFU

I can get the 16 GB is used for the same price as the new 8GB. 16GB is obviously double up, but is there a difference in performance? I'm not aware here.

    See you soon,.

    Stephan

According to me, the memory maximum supported by the E530 is 16 GB (2x8GB). Here is a description of a memory module that works very well.  Note other specs in the description. Kingston Technology 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3L PC3-12800 1.35v Non ECC SODIMM CL11 computer Intel laptop memory KVR16LS11/4

You can see the performance of the MS Task Manager tab to see how good you are at max.  If you use less than 50% (be sure to first open memory hungry apps) more memory won't much difference except make the computer run more hot.  In addition, as you probably know, you run a Win 64-bit operating system to take advantage of the most ~ 4GB.

FYI - the memory factory is probably the best you can buy.

I tried to install driver ericsson and Sierra, but none works. Also when using the network key is not even show the WAN option.

If the online specifications are correct, your E530 does not have a WWAN card.

I pasted your slot machine specifications and those for an E520 that comes with mobile broadband.

You can verify your listing by clicking on SUPPORT above, and then enter 3259-Flumeri fast path on the right.

  • E530 Lenovo. The graphics-upgradeoption GT635M use the mSATA slot?

    Hello community,

When I chose the upgradeoptions for the E530 I'll buy something confuses me. The graphics card has been described as WWAN and capable mSATA. The question is, the graphics card uses the slot mSATA? It would be a shame, because I wanted to build in an ssd. I contacted my local support and they told me, he would. On the other hand... they were absolutely sure that the Intel HD IGP use the mSATA-slot, that would be... strange...

So.Has anyone of you you have experience with the GT635M in the E530?

Oh, and in the store there are two different E530. One with a resolution of 1366 x 768 and the other with the HD screen + with a resolution of 1600 x 900. Why Lenovo does not heat wave-red and blue Artic cover version of 1366 x 768 and more importantly for me, why it does not allow coverage of midnight-black on the version 1600 x 900? They're both the same size! And I think that its importance for the cover of the laptop what resolution got the screen. Is it possible to change the lid without breach of the warranty or changing the order?

(It has not been sent or built still)

Thanks for your replies in advance.

    MfG MrBlati

(ps: in English is not my native language, I want to apologize a writing /-spelling in the text )

about the cover of the screen, I'm not too sure. But I had asked this question for some clients Australian just now, the response I got from Lenovo was that it was the configuration of configuration that they possessed, that they could not change their system.

My theory is that Lenovo has limited display 1600 x 900 coverage option in order to simplify the system of inventory they had. As the upper display resolution would be selected only by a small group of customers.

  • E530 - BSOD Win8

    Hello

Today, I updated my Lenovo Edge E530 to Windows 8 and downloaded the latest drivers from the support web site.

First of all I can't find new card reader driver - if the device appears in my unknown device manager. And my second problem is I get BSOD saying "pilot"driver_irql_not_less_or_equal"with the file ndis.sys or aswenet.sys.

  • Consider replacing your battery E530

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E530 running Windows 7 Pro with 64-bit

I got this computer since May this year and I've only had a few questions such as the windows updates failed. Otherwise everything works normally... until now. I used my computer in my room as usual and I had to do something, so I put the computer in hibernation. A few hours later I'm back windows and the battery icon has a big red X when it is plugged and a flashing X when it is on battery power. It is said "83% available (plugged in, load) consider replacing your battery." And at the bottom of the little popup box, it says "There is a problem with your battery so that your computer could turns off suddenly."

So there is a battery problem but I don't know what caused it. I put it in hibernation when the battery is really low and it was not plugged in. Would that matter? And according to the power management I have only 39% of the power of the original battery or something, but I have it set to maximum battery life, so I do not understand. I restarted and it's the same thing. Oh and I did a disk defragmentation of the disk OS earlier today if that matters.

Should I wait it out and see if it's a bug, or should I start looking for a new battery?

If it was me I remove the battery and run on a/c for a while (days?). Disconnect the a/c, then reinsert the battery. If you still have the problem the battery is covered under warranty for 1 year. If you have saved to your computer, you can go to the support section and look for your warranty status.
