ThinkPad E530 Max RAM upgrade

Hi all

My laptop is E530 and Corei5 3210 TM processor @ 2.5 GHz.

The tech specs here says:

Ivy Bridge compatible DDR3 and DDR3L. But you can buy DDR3L (1.35v support) for the extra battery life, it gives you.

Also note that when you buy a module of memory for your laptop, you buy a SODIMM and not a bar of MEMORY. Modules DIMM is longer and does not fit into a laptop. SODIMM is made for laptops.

Note that if you have doubts, you can call technical support and they can understand all of this for you. Or you can buy the memory from the link I posted above.

If you have a DDR3 module installed and you insert a DDR3L module, both will run to DDR3 specifications. The module DDR3L simply starts to operate at a higher voltage.

  • Satellite A200-10W - max RAM upgrade

Hello.. I would like to know what is the max ram I can use to my laptop if I install the service pack for vista,.
can my laptop get 8 gb and vista can use all of them?
    Thnx for all :)

    Hello

The max RAM always depends on installed chipset.
I put t know what chipset is in charge of your laptop but you could install a tool of diagnosis of equipment as for example Everest home edition and you could check chipset.

Check the chipset specifications and properties on the Intel page.
Then, you need to know what amount of RAM max is possible.

With regard to 4 GB media.
Akuma is right. The 32-bit OS can see only 3.2 GB
Only the 64 bit OS can handle more than 3 GB of RAM

And there is no other way to contact HP, not so good...

But I wanne have ram max in my labtop, now there are 2 x 4 GB (8 GB total)

I can't, and pehaps faster ram at?

    Tommy

    According to the Manual:

    Repair manuals

8 GB is the maximum. I am skeptical. The material is the same as other laptops that can take 16 concerts. Unfortunately, unless you have access to modules of 2 x 8 gig memory to laptop DDR3L-1600 for free, it would be a terribly expensive experience. The memory is easily accessible behind a service Panel, as shown on page 53. You may not use any speed faster than the DDR3-1600.

Frankly 8 GB's penty of memory and even if you can switch to 16 you won't see an improvement in the operating speed. If you must run multiple virtual machines, or make you one montage video or other really demanding maybe 16 gigs of work may be justified.

For General velocity of the computer, the upgrade you want is an SSD. You can replace the hard drive with an SSD and clone all your software and programs through. Personally, I will never own a computer without one.

If the manual indicates that only 2 GB are possible then you can move the RAM only to 2 GB (2 x 1 GB module)

    Hello

Say the user manual on the upgrade of RAM?
In general this info is always mentioned in the user manuals

But generally, must be knowing that RAM upgrade depends on the chipset.
The FSB (front side bus) chipset is important for the speed of the RAM.
If the FSB supports only 533 Mhz then your RAM modules would go max with speed 533 Mhz and RAM modules support a faster speed; That is to say to 667 Mhz.

  • 2009 macbook pro 17 "ram upgrade?

Hey expert Mac... .can I don't know if my macbook pro 17 "(modèle identificateur macbookpro6, 1) is expandable up to 8 x 2 GB of ram?" It is now 2 x 4 GB only.

If Yes, what brand / model of ram?

If your computer identifies more fully with the specifications here, http://mactracker.ca database

it would be considered a MacBook Pro (17-inch, mid 2010) using MacBook/Pro 6.1 model identifier:

And if confirmed (see fact sheet + serial number at everymac.com search) and then Max RAM 8 GB:

  • Satellite L30-10 x and RAM upgrade

    Hello

IM missing to know where and how to upgrade RAM in Satellite L30 - 10 x. I would like to switch to 2 GB (maximum) and also upgrade to vista Home premium.
    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

    Hello

To upgrade of RAM on this laptop model is very simple. Memory locations are under the memory cover. Remove cover memory placed in the lower corner of your laptop (in the middle) and you will have access to these two RAM slots.

If you want to use max RAM I recommend to buy compatible DDR2 400/533 1 GB module with the PA3411U-1M1G part number.
Vista upgrade should be no problem at all. On the Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > download & support, you can find the Vista drivers, tools and utilities for your Satellite L30 (PSL33E).

    Good luck!

  • HP205 G4 Intel i35005u: problem with RAM upgrade

    Hello

I recently acquired a HP205 G4 laptop with 4 GB of RAM installed in one of the two slots.  It has a free slot and a max RAM 8 GB capacity.  As I have a 4 GB stick lying around, I thought I would be a free upgrade of RAM and so I placed in unoccupied housing and booted up.

My problem is that neither information system or UEFI sees the newly installed stick and States I have still 4 GB of RAM, however, Speccy see the two 4 GB sticks and indicates he has 8 GB of RAM.  It may or may not be relevant but Speccy also States that the system memory is single channel.

The sticks are Samsung and the two DDR3.  They, however, have different bandwidth (PC3-10700 & PC3-12800) and voltage (1.35 & 1.5).  Now as I know the speed will be simply fixed by the slower stick and so both should work.  This leaves the tension, but if it was a problem, I don't expect Speccy to see the extra stick (1.5V) at all.

So I wonder, is tension the key culprit?  Will be 1,5 volt RAM spare part - I have also a 2 GB stick - I simply does not work on this motherboard?  Is there something I missed or can I do to get the system to see what sees Speccy and thus use 8GBs?

    Cheers for any help.

Do not use this old memory in this new laptop. If you want to run 8 gigs, get a second identical DDR3L-1600 module. Even if she would go with the DDR3-1066 RAM at this speed, do you really think 8 gigs clocked at 1066 is slightly better than running at 1600 mhz 4 gigs? I say no. There is also the question of the timing of the CPU to memory cycles cycles. You can really shake things up and cripple performance trying to use memory that runs at a different speed that the motherboard was designed to use. The motherboard is to protect themselves by refusing to see and to try to work with this alien memory.

  • Acer Aspire TimelineX 5830TG RAM upgrade

    Hi all

I intend to improve my RAM to 3 GB to 8 GB on Acer Aspire TimelineX 5830TG.

I intend to use 4 GB DDR3 1600 Mhz Laptop Ram CL11 PC3-12800 1600 MHz on the two slots.
I wanted to know if this laptop supports this RAM which is a frequency of 1600 Mhz.

    Has anyone tried this upgrade?

    Hi all

After my research, I found that acer supports maximum 8 GB 1333 Mhz RAM, which is 4 GB / slot for my laptop (5830TG).

    Please note the points below.

1 Max RAM memory supported by "Intel Core i5 2410 M' 16 GB is only acer only recommeds and supports 8 GB RAM

    2. the HM65 Express Chipset supports 16 GB of RAM but acer only recommends and supports 8 GB RAM

    3. the frequency max RAM supported by acer 1333 Mhz, 1600 MHz only is not supported since the BIOS does not allow to use as a guy mentioned in a forum. If you want to use 1600 MHz RAM then you need Flash the BIOS that is not the right thing, because there are problems of heat and laptop could stop working and it is in any case not tested and certified by acer.

This applies to anyone whose laptop computer contains "Intel HM65 Express Chipset' motherboard and processor 'Intel Core - i5 2410 M'.

I write so that it will be a reference for me and people like me who are looking to upgrade their RAM.

I plan to buy "Crucial 8 GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR3 FSB 1333 (PC3-10600) CL9 SODIMM 204-pin Notebook Memory Modules 1.5V. I will update my experience with this RAM after that some 4 to 6 months so if any of you are planning to upgrade can probably treat this as a starting reference.

    Thank you people.

I am currently runinng on stock card and do not want to upgrade a lot on that laptop it is mainly for the office.
