E530 Lenovo. The graphics-upgradeoption GT635M use the mSATA slot?

Hello community,

When I chose the upgradeoptions for the E530 I'll buy something confuses me. The graphics card has been described as WWAN and capable mSATA. The question is, the graphics card uses the slot mSATA? It would be a shame, because I wanted to build in an ssd. I contacted my local support and they told me, he would. On the other hand... they were absolutely sure that the Intel HD IGP use the mSATA-slot, that would be... strange...

So.Has anyone of you you have experience with the GT635M in the E530?

Oh, and in the store there are two different E530. One with a resolution of 1366 x 768 and the other with the HD screen + with a resolution of 1600 x 900. Why Lenovo does not heat wave-red and blue Artic cover version of 1366 x 768 and more importantly for me, why it does not allow coverage of midnight-black on the version 1600 x 900? They're both the same size! And I think that its importance for the cover of the laptop what resolution got the screen. Is it possible to change the lid without breach of the warranty or changing the order?

(It has not been sent or built still)

Thanks for your replies in advance.

(ps: in English is not my native language, I want to apologize a writing /-spelling in the text )

about the cover of the screen, I'm not too sure. But I had asked this question for some clients Australian just now, the response I got from Lenovo was that it was the configuration of configuration that they possessed, that they could not change their system.

My theory is that Lenovo has limited display 1600 x 900 coverage option in order to simplify the system of inventory they had. As the upper display resolution would be selected only by a small group of customers.

    Hi all

I intend to buy an SSD mSATA disc to my desire, because I want to improve the response time at the opening of some programs, improve the General performance of the operating system and to access files faster to big (read and write).

I searched several readers mSATA SSD in the Web and I chose a P830 Series128GB mSATA SSD Samsung miniPCI-E disk (SATA III 6 GB/s, read 500 MB/s, writing of 400 MB/s).

But I'm asking about what might be the best option to use the SSD mSATA so suitable as a primary drive (operating system installation and leaving 1 TB of HARD drive for storage and applications) or use it as a cache to improve overall performance.

I do not envy for IE play or video editing, but I work with VMWare Workstation, and most of the time I need to use about 2 or 3 VM at the same time (sometimes during the recovery of a virtual Suspension of machine it take a long time, the virtual disks sizes about 40 GB). Another use for my desire is to play movies/series HD / 3D 0 and mirrored them for my Smart TV (via Miracast)

I read something on Intel Smart Response Technology (SRT) and I heard some benefits for use with SSDS as cache memory but I am still confused the best option.

Any suggestions you may have? It might be useful for me!

    Hello @cchoiz ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you have questions about the installation of your mSATA SSD.

The mSATA slot is designed to only be used as a disk cache. You may experience problems starting in the mSATA SSD as drive. For this reason, I recommend to use it in its configuration provided; as a cache drive.

The decision is entirely at you in the end. If you are able to configure the BIOS to use the mSATA as the main drive, this will help improve your system performance in addition to using it as a cache drive, especially if there is enough space to install your VMWare on the mSATA SSD after you have installed the operating system. Use it as a main drive will also increase the life expectancy of the SSD.

I can only offer you my personal and no suggestions 'official response HP' in this regard. As previously mentioned, it is entirely up to you.

Hopfully, this helps at least a little.

  • Use black ink cartridges into the two slots? HP Photosmart C4795 - no color cc = us

Can I use black ink cartridges into the two slots? HP Photosmart C4795 - no color, to save money?

    Hey JJ - B,.

You cannot use a black cartridge in both slots. The print head channels are different for print 3 colors in a slot vs only black print out on each other. Using black in the two slots certaining most will cause errors and possibly damage the printer.

Is there a reason you want to run the two blacks to be with? You can still print with only the back cartridge installed.

    Good luck!

  • Selection of the mSATA port w / 120GB SSD and HDD using Rapid Storage Technology

For my XPS 8500, I try to understand how to better select the appropriate for my two readers ports: 1.standalone120GB SSD drive and player 2.a 1 TB HHD mSATA of w / 120GB SSD using Intel Rapid Storage Technology.  The standalone SSD should be on port 0 (SATA III) and put on port 1 HARD drive (SATA II), or would the using HHD Rapid Storage Technology better put on port 0, and put the standalone SSD on port 1?  Which of the two configurations of ports will get the best performance for startup, application loading and general use (no game)?  I intend to use the standalone SSD as boot drive and application drive while using the HHD to store data (especially the collection large photo).  As I understand it, the choice becomes one which the reader will work better (suffer the least) on the SATA II port.  I read that HARD drive using Rapid Storage Technology technology perform almost as although independent of SSD, but I do not know if the SATA II port speed limit either or both players so that no matter what port is selected (i.e. HARD drive using RST on port 0 would work as well as standalone SSD on port 1)?

Thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated.

    Hi DoctorDED,

The mSATA SSD is usually used as a cache for a mechanical drive. With a 120 GB SSD as drive system, you do not have the reader mSATA as a cache, but I believe you can still use it for storage.

You must install the SSD on port 0 and mechanical training on port 1.

  • How to open the cover slot of memory on Satellite M60?

    Hello

I want to add memory in my M60, but I do not understand how to access the inside... It seems easy to open the back of the drive hard, but for the record, I unscrew and after, the "door" stay in place and do ' t want to be removed...

    Thank you

    Hello

Yes, it is easy to remove the cover of the memory at the bottom of the unit.
I don't think that a single screw covers the memory slot cover. Remove this screw and use something thin and flat to remove the cover

The details, you should find in the user manual (in my user manual I ve instruction)

  • Location of new mods of ram in the 4 slots?

    Hello

I just increased my mods four ram current 4 x 2 GB 2 x 8 GB & 2 x 2 GB, increasing overall from 8 GB to 20 GB. part of the reason for this is due to a beachball regular spinning that seems to have stopped now I'm happy to say.

Is there a preferable to their location order? I am told that the 8 GB should go side by side in the top slots while others tell me that it is not serious.

Some clear advice would be welcome.

My iMac ram works great as shown in the photo below.

Some advice about my activity for memory monitor reading would also be welcome. His memory displays used to 7.28 GB and caching of files of 3.29 GB. Can I send through a few photos of this too if it would help?

    Thank you very much

    Steve

You have the RAM installed incorrectly, each pair must be by-side not above the other.

  • Satellite Pro 4200 recognize RAM only in the B slot

I have recently got a Satellite Pro 4200 and want to increase the memory up to 320 MB.
To start I bought a 128 MB module and have found that with a 64 MB module in a slot and the 128 MB in the other system only recognizes the module into the connector B.

Must the modules in the two slots be the same value for the system to recognize them? i.e. the 128 MB or two 64 MB.
If this is the case its OK but if it's not I don't want to buy another 128 MB module, if the location is unservicable.

    Thank you
    Billabilla.

    Hello

Wow Sat Pro 42000 is an oldie I didn t think someone using this mobile in the future, I mean it's a great laptop but the performance he is too weak to be present-days.
As far as I know the Satellite Pro 4200 was equipped with Mobile Intel Celeron 500 Mhz or with an Intel Pentium III 450 Mhz / 500 Mhz.

Pentium 450 Mhz CPU equipped units can be improved up to 320 MB. All other units can be upgraded up to 576 MB.

I think that the 64 MB module should not be removed!
You must use 64 MB + 128 MB or 256 MB or 512 MB (only for models with 500 Mhz processor).

    Hope this helps you

  • Ultrabook Envy6-1100sl: install a 2nd OS on the msata SSD - Envy6-1100sl

Hi, I upgraded my envy6 with 16 GB Crucial RAM and 500 GB samsung SSD evo. After upgrade, I did a clean install of windows 10 and stopped to use the itegrated msata ssd. My question is:
Can I install a second operating system on the msata ssd? Can this bios read the second OS on the msata? Is there a procedure to follow?
    Thank you

Thanks for suggesting it, but I've created a simple way... I just installed the second OS on the msata. At startup the sistem starts automatically on my main drive (500 GB win10), but if I press F9 when starting, I can see my linux on second drive (32 GB msata) and just choose to start when I need.
Don't need to grub or similar just manual choice, and that's what I wanted!

  • Satellite U200 163: where can I find the RAM slots?

Where can I find the RAM slots?

    Hello

As much as I know there is no RAM Bay at the bottom of the unit and it is so just only one possible place to the RAM slots
Slots seem to be hidden under the keyboard.

In order to get access to the RAM, you will need to remove the keyboard.
Usually, it is not very difficult but if you have no experience with this dismantling then you should ask a technician for assistance.

    But here's a few details;
Keyboard is fixed with 2 screws. They are hidden under the cover of thin plastic under the line of F1 to F12 key.
Remove the plastic cover, remove the screws, then you could remove the keyboard take note; the keyboard is connected to the motherboard with the flat cable.

    So don't use force!

  • W540 mSATA SSD as data along SSD into the main slot drive

Can I just install an mSATA SSD along my main SSD in W530 to use the old as data storage? He will see it not as a single cache? Thank you

ExpressCache is something that must be put in place.

By default the mSATA SSD is just storage.

When you put it in, it is not formatted and does not appear in my computer, so you must go to disk management to format it in NTFS so it appears.
