E530: is not completely shutdown/restart/sleep/setting Hibernate

Hello!

I have a brand new E530 Edge with ssd drive intel 520 and i7-3612qm CPU. Latest versions of the drivers are installed.

The problem is that it only stopped completely - no display shuts off, but fan and LED lit. Same thing happens during sleep, hibernate, restart.

However, in safe mode it t-stop and restart correctly. It does so without any drivers (tried to reinstall Windows 7 and Windows 8 several times).

Sometimes (like 1 in 20 tests), it is shut down properly. I was not in a position to know what driver (or combination) are the problem.

Any advice will be appreciated. I really don't want to go RMA way probably all is needed is a patch/fix.

Finally found the source of these symptoms. It was a 2nd drive hard ebay cart.

To resolve this problem, I had to disassemble the hard drive caddy and remove one of the pins SATA (details - http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-business-class-notebooks/655065-hp-elitebook-8560p-wont-shutdown...)

Now, the laptop works perfectly!

  • Problem with the HP Pavilion e033tx-15 Notebook shutdown/restart/sleep

I had windows 8 OS 64-bit working fine with my HP Pavilion Notebook 15-e033tx.

I had problems, so I decided to update my drivers. I already had BIOS VersionF.08 and the hp support page has shown that there is an update of the bios to VersionF.21.

After updating the bios the problem started when I stop lighting and the laptop into sleep mode kindof. I have to hold the switch down to foce him close. If I restart it, it says "reboot pc", goes blank and then all power off, and it's not stopped.  and if I SLEEP, he's not waking up.

I rolled back the bios and it fixed the issue.

Then I freshly installed win pro 8.1, and it has only VersionF.21 of the bios available.  Same problem again.

HP Support Assistant showed that a new bios update Insyde F.22. But the problem is still there.

I searched other posts with similar problem and I can't seem to solve this problem. Help, please.

Henrico Hello and welcome on the HP Forum!

I understand that you have a problem with the BIOS.  I'll try my best to help you solve this problem. I suggest following the procedure described in this document for the restoration of the BIOS .

If this does not resolve this problem then restores the version F.08 http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02693833 driver it should always work for Windows 8.1.  Here is a document for more information of the device to Windows 8 Manager which explains how to roll back the driver. It will be the same steps for Windows 8.1.

I suggest Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8) to change your settings for manual update. This allows you to choose what you want updates.

I hope that this information help, please let me know how it goes.

Thank you and have a great day!

  • "Windows could not complete the installation", Y510P

    Hello

Just got my new Y510P and realized it's impossible to start Windows.

Initially it displays error "Windows cannot parse or process Unattend...» [... \unattend.xml] [oobeSystem] pass... »

After reboot he start to display a different message - "Windows could not complete installation, restart the installation.

The operating system is Windows 8.1.

Looks like I'm not the only person having this problem. System recovery does not help, of course (as well as the graceful Lenovo tech support).

I think that the problem caused by the incorrect unattend.xml file that fails to install any software because of this error and unnesessary blocking Windows to complete the installation.

I see no other way rather than installing Windows from another source. I don't want to pay for another Windows license and instead return the Lenovo laptop, but perhaps there is another way?

    Problem solved.

I contacted Lenovo support and they offered me to send recovery discs I received a few days later. I installed the cleaning system of records and have not experienced any problems since.

I'm still not fully satisfied because I cannot reset the laptop to the factory settings without these discs, but I think I can live with that.

    Hello

    1. you receive an error message or error code when the installation crashes?

    2. where exactly you are trying to install the game?

    3. what operating system is installed on the computer?

Check if an error message or error code is listed in the event viewer. You can check the link below:

I have an Acer Aspire laptop, I had no win7 Home Premium OS disc.

Is there a way I can fix this, without going through an OS disc?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Marc,

By Acer of documentation about their eRecovery using:

These steps will return the system to the factory installation of original factory, including all applications and drivers installed.
Back up all data before using this procedure.

You can see the article here.

I suggest to go thanks to support from Acer directly to see what other options they can give you, because you don't have a disc of Windows 7 from them to other possible measures as a tool to restart system etc.

When I wake up the computer in "sleep" or "hibernate" mode, only the photo Office rises, not the icons, so I have to restart with a hard off every time.  What can I do?

Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE and bring up the Task Manager > move in process > select Explorer > end task and it will restart and if all goes well it will bring to the top of your screen properly.

Your computer is completely up-to-date with all the updates?

Note I'm not a fan of setting hibernation or sleep a computer there, it can sometimes lead to problems (as you see)

    I hope this helps.

Exactly what happened when you tried?

Have you tried formatting the HD?

Have you started the installation of SL?

    Hello

I have WINDOWS VISTA and just tried to reinstall my laptop of restoration on a HARD disk partition.

When I press 'OK' (which is the only option), it tries to start again, until I get the same error through the black screen.

    Hello

For any problem with the help of the recovery Partition that has been copied to the hard disk by the computer manufacturer, you must contact them.

This recovery process is the manufacturer, not Microsoft.

    ________________________________________________

You never told us why you wanted to do a restore. If you had serious errors and the recovery process does not work, you will have hardware problems. BUT we're only guessing at this stage due to lack of information to help you.

  • X 201 tablet will not lock, restart, sleep, closing or display UAC/consent UI after plugging in USB

I have a X 201 Tablet (3113-W4M) comes preloaded with Windows XP SP3.  I amazed image XP and reloaded with Windows 7 Enterprise and got all the drivers for Windows 7 from the Lenovo Web site.

The problem is that when the system resumes from standby or hibernation * and * I plug in a USB mouse or a USB keyboard/mouse combo, I manage not to lock, shutdown, restart or Hibernate the system.  In addition, something that called UAC is unable to display.  If I look at the process in the Task Manager, I see where consent.exe is running (called when a guest of UAC approval needs to be displayed).  Sometimes it runs several times corresponding to several events that should have displayed the prompt (e.g. running RegEdit).  Disable UAC is a workaround for this problem but does not address the root cause, and does not address the issue of the stop/lock/etc.

After that extended troubleshooting which included 2 full OS reboot, trace log and deep customer processes, I reduced my question to the following steps:

    (1) boot with no USB Tablet mouse and/or keyboard attached

    (2) attach USB mouse and/or keyboard

    > Tries to lock the workstation and run Regedit, both work as expected.

    (3) Hibernate tablet (USB mouse and/or keyboard are connected)

    (4) out of the hibernation (USB mouse and/or keyboard are connected)

    > Try to lock the workstation and run Regedit, these two don't

I discovered what I spend my working system (Logitech S510 keyboard/mouse combo) at home (Logitech LX 310 mouse).  I have all the updates of course Windows 7 and I installed the latest Logitech Setpoint.  The problem has occurred before and after the installation of the setpoint software.

Curiously, I can reboot the system via command line using 'shutdown - r' but it takes 4 to 5 minutes as opposed to the less than a minute when it does occur.

Thanks in advance to the community.

  • Problem printing - "operation not completed; "print spooler service does not.

My laptop has suddenly decided to stop from allowing me to print, gives me the message "operation was not completed. Print Spooler service is not running", even though when I look in the Services, it is running. I am running XP Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301 - 1519: Service Pack 2.

    Hello

According to the description in this document from the Microsoft Knowledge base:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=314876

    Please try this:
    1. click on start and then click Control Panel.
    2. double-click Administrative Tools and then click Services.
    3. double-click on the Printer Spooler service and then change the startup type to automatic. This option sets the spooler service starts automatically when you restart the computer.
    4. If you want to start the spooler service immediately, click the Start button under the Service status field.
