E6520 Windows 10?

Howdy,

I have a laptop of E6520 under Windows 7 Pro.  I have problems to install Windows 10 and wonder if anyone has had luck get that works.  I go as far as to 84% and then the screen goes black.  A couple hours later it will restart and restore me to Windows 7.

I don't know if it's a material thing or a thing of driver or what.  Someone at - he obtained 10 Windows to install on an E6520 through an upgrade to Win7?  If this isn't the case, I can watch to try a new installation.

Thank you.

Hey kelemvor33,

First, you must also remove the Protection of data of Dell (RFP) software that is incompatible with Windows 10.

I've upgraded an E6520 Windows Pro 64-bit (from Windows 7 Pro 64-bit) 10, but suffered a strange problem with the movement of the mouse via the touchpad - the pointer kept stalling all minutes for just a few seconds. While it wasn't the world, it has caused irritation, however. What I forgot to do this is to check the State of the Device Manager to see if all devices have been recognized and work as expected.

However, once Windows 10 has been installed and activated, I ran then a clean install of media created with the Microsoft software that allows you to create an ISO or USB bootable. Once again, everything is going well (although the ISO first created was somehow corrupted and if installation failed after that I have re-partition of the drive to take advantage of the UEFI boot and GPT disks (this means losing the Dell Diagnostics partition).) Fortunately, I had a second computer to re - create a bootable USB and the second attempt has worked flawlessly.

However, out of the Box, 5 devices are not recognized:

  1. Broadcom USH
    HardwareIDs
    USB\VID_0A5C & PID_5801 & REV_0101 & MI_03
    USB\VID_0A5C & PID_5801 & MI_03
  2. Broadcom USH w/scanning sensor
    HardwareIDs
    USB\VID_0A5C & PID_5801 & REV_0101 & MI_00
    USB\VID_0A5C & PID_5801 & MI_00
  3. Mass storage
    HardwareIDs
    PCI\VEN_1217 & DEV_8331 & SUBSYS_04941028 & REV_05
    PCI\VEN_1217 & DEV_8331 & SUBSYS_04941028
    PCI\VEN_1217 & DEV_8331 & CC_018000
    PCI\VEN_1217 & DEV_8331 & CC_0180
  4. PCI serial port
    HardwareIDs
    PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_1C3D & SUBSYS_04941028 & REV_04
    PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_1C3D & SUBSYS_04941028
    PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_1C3D & CC_070002
    PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_1C3D & CC_070
  5. Unknown device
    HardwareIDs
    ACPI\VEN_SMO & DEV_8800
    ACPI\SMO8800
    * SMO8800

The hardware ID, I think that its usually the first condition in the list that will point to a driver, but I would like to list everything just in case the thought. I did have time to research yet, but if I get any where, I'll post back.

Don't forget, I would first of all, in order that you can get activated, and then create a new facility upgrade (you don't have to specify a product key during installation (you can just skip) and activation will be automatic). This means that you will install twice, but I don't think that there is a simple method of activation on a new installation without the machine is already enabled for widows 10 previously, and the only way that this can happen (toll-free) is to go through the upgrade process. A PITA, I know, but you're there!

Hello Speedstep and someone another reading in the future after this gets indexed.

SpeedStep, while I thank you for your quick response, it is wildly inaccurate.

Access to Data Protection from Dell use a company called 'Wave', which creates a lot of software suites of different security (ie the Embassey security).

    They have an article here:

After talking to a person about the error, this happens when their software is used on a player not yet taken in charge by them or a corruption of software glitch/player. I found that, in my case, it was because their use TCG OPAL orders 1.0 while my Player supports 2.0 commands more recent.

This caused my problem. -How do I fix this?

I found a few blackhat tools that allow you to communicate to the piece of independent encryption of drives, but they were not successful. After some research, there is a hardware password PSID on the SSD. I found that someone has added to their Samsungs PSID reset tool drop-down list.

Run this tool CLI enabled me to the SSDS to factory specifications and remove independent encryption caused by the DDPA.  Yay! Now, I have my SSD back.

SpeedStep, I replace my SSD with another and I was able to use it successfully without any changes to my TPM secure or Bios. Again once, however I appreciate the quick response!

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Make sure after you have uninstalled all the components Apple to remove iTunes shortcuts from the desktop, taskbar, or start menu before you reinstall.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

If the problem persists and you have a 64-bit system try for the old version of video cards which is a 64-bit Installer for most of the 32-bit code, similar to all 64 bit iTunes up to 12,1 versions.

  • Combo sculpt comfort keyboard/mouse Microsoft - mouse problem driver windows 7

Just bought a new combo desktop Microsoft Sculpt comfort (keyboard and mouse). I have a problem with the mouse in Windows 7.

This mouse has the button scan blue on the left where you can drag upward or down and click. I have this attached to a Dell E6520 laptop.

In windows 8 the slide it towards the bottom of the function pulls the top of the list of open windows. In Windows 7, it's the browser's "back" button. I installed the latest microsoft mouse and keyboard software 2.3.

When I first installed the drive, everything works as expected. Suddenly the button works like the browser's "back" button. A few hours later, or after a reboot slide down begins to open the windows instead. The only way to fix is to uninstall the driver and re install. I tried the USB in USB ports and all are working the same.

How can I solve this problem? I called Microsoft support and they said to return the system and replace it. It is not a hardware problem and return it will do no good.

    Any help would be useful.

Once the hard drive has failed, nothing can be recovered. That's why you do backups and images of the system on external hard drives.

You can buy a new hard drive 2.5 inch laptop of any retailer. Get the best market in the list of dell for an old computer - see more details , see the plug. Do not get a ssd for the old computer. In fact, I would use the opportunity to buy a new laptop instead of spending $60 + on a new hard drive. A portable five-year-old is in his last breath.

Install the operating system, means boot from the installation disk, select custom Setup to allow windows format the new drive. Here is the link to dell instructions-
