EA3500 router (or failure) problem?

I have an older machine from Dell running an Apache Server on my LAN. I have my workstation for laptop Asus on this same local intranet, (test / development / etc).

To test my Web site work, I put the name of the web site (for example, www.mysite.com) in the address bar of my workstation (of course).

What * should * result is that this "demand is expected to go to my DNSprovider (zoneedit.com) in my case, then Zoneedit gets my request, then work its DNS, then send my request to my local network and thenport forwarede on my Dell server and then in my Apache server software.

So if I look at my logs, Apache, I'will see a visit by * my * external IP address / public. So I know that the application has been properly processed.

HOWEVER, rather than to happen, I see in my Apache logs that 192.168.1.1 paid a visit!

Demand which means, never left my site. And the EA3500 router took a 'shortcut' and send the request directly on my server and Apache.

How I can * force * the router to send demand for wide-scale-world website and stop this "shortcuts?  Setting the Whart do for me peae?  (I wouldn't visit McDonalds with my iPAd just to check if my last changes of the site work )

Thanks for any hel offered!

So, I guess, I had to have toMcDonalds to test. This is nuts!

Generally, I use the nslookup command in Windows and specify an external DNS as 8.8.8.8 from google to see that my reproduced DNS settings are correct.

PC:

Nslookup

Server 8.8.8.8

set type = all

To make sure that the ports are the transmission as planned I use www.grc.com ShieldsUP online port scan.

  • EA3500 router in Bridge mode

I will put up a second access point as at one end of the House's wireless signal is weak. I wired ethernet to the field. I have an EA3500 I'm trying to installing in bridge operation so that it acts as a WAP only. I tried this 10 times now. I have everything set up (SSID, pass phrases, channel, etc. and it works very well at that moment as a 2nd router.) As soon as I then put it in bridged mode, it becomes essentially a "router with an ethernet switch" wireless radio turn off (according to the tests with WiFi Analyzer). In addition, you can get is no longer at the admin page - and Yes, I know to use local access instead of the wifi chip. I use the new IP address of the router (I have a DHCP reservation for it on my main router). I gets to the sign in page, choose connect locally, enter the password, and he's going to 'pending' forever. Every time I do a factory reset and start over. There is no newer firmware than what this EA3500 comes with. It's obviously a serious bug with this model or a hardware problem. The documentation says that it works, and radio work fine until I turn it on in bridged mode - then they will switch off. The lack of access to the admin page (with her just enter "waiting") is also very frustrating. Each reset and return to work as a router - but I don't want two NATs on my network as my work WHAT VPN is not going to work through it.

Anyone else tried mode on a bridged and got EA3500 it actually works? If so, how?

    Thank you!

    Jerry

    Jerrykham,

There is a bug in the firmware that causes that when you select "obtain an IP address automatically".

You must select "specify an IP address" and then enter the required information. Example: IP 192.168.1.2, netmask 255.255.255.0, default gateway 192.168.1.1 dns 8.8.8.8 (google public dns).

The bug has been reported for more than a year and Linksys refuses to fix it. The bug affects EA3500, EA4500 and E4200v2 and perhaps others.

  • Power failure problems

My pavillion t3625 suffered by a power failure external but also on the resumption of supplies, that I only have a permanent green led under the power socket. Crayford, welcome to the forum.

Because the computer is older and so the PSU is very late in life, I agree that it might be the problem.  Here's a guide to help you troubleshoot it.  The guide is for recent computers, but the basics are the same.

  • No Internet access - network/router wireless connection problem

I can't connect to the internet after installing Windows 7 64 bit. I can see the router wireless/network from my computer, but it has sometimes limited connectivity or it says connected but no internet access. I used Windows diagnostic tools to try to fix it but it does not work, and my router connects without a doubt to the internet such that I now use on a portable computer that is on the same network. I would like to know if anyone else has this problem and if they fixed. I tried to change the physical address of the connection to the local network, but it didn't work, I guess because I connect via radio and no cable, and I heard similar stories on other forums that this can be a problem more common I suspect. Thanks in advance for your answer, and all the details you need I'll try my best to provide.

OK I finally got to work, all we needed was for me to download the latest drivers (Realtek 8185 wireless card) off-site and install in compatibility mode, and then he worked all of a sudden. I hope this will help someone suffering from a similar problem!

You also need a permit for the ipsec traffic, the following command will allow all ipsec traffic if you want to filter traffic not to use this command and use rather ACLs on the external interface, but following that to allow all traffic to your L2L and remote vpn access:

    Permitted connection ipsec sysopt

When you say can ping any URL, I am assuming that you are pinging of the FULL domain name, IE: it is resolved to an ip address, right?

If you disable the VPN, can you access the internet?

You have a proxy server or anything that could block navigation?

This error message you get on your web browser?

Also try another web browser, and none works?

  • HP Photosmart C4795 with Apple Airport Extreme Wireless router - cable PC problem

    Hello

I searched, but I can't quite find an exact match for my problem.

I have a new HP desktop computer running Windows 7, and I attach it to my wireless router which is an Apple Airport Extreme.  I have attached my HP C4795 printer to the USB port on the * router *.  In theory, the USB key should pass through, so that the office will think it's a printer "connected", while also allowing us to print remotely from our laptops (via the router).

Unfortunately, while portable computers can print wireless very well, the * office * Guard 'lose' the printer, thinking that it is in offline mode.  Even when it shows 'online' (after my relocation via "Add a printer"), still error-out print jobs.

Can someone help me understand how this works?  The printer works fine, btw, if I disconnect the USB cable between the router and plug directly to the PC, if it isn't something directly with the printer or the desktop, but rather the * combination * of running through the Apple Airport Extreme router.

    Thank you

    Terry

    Thank you, once again, Jim.

I think I have stumbled on the solution.  I did a reading online on Apple application 'Hello', and how he felt necessary for Apple devices, like the airport, knit with device sharing.  I forgot that the installation of the airport disk had said something Hello installation, but I discovered on my Wired HP Win 7 PC menu programs, called 'Hello Printer Utility' or something, and I launched it, selected the C4795 in the dialog box, and all seems to be put in place (i.e. the printer suddenly showed as 'online' and I could print from my desktop wired as well as wireless laptop).

    Success!

Thanks for all your help on this.  Now, all I need is to get my WD My Book external/sharing the hard drive to work as well!  Unfortunately, I do not see here a "Hello Hard Disk Utility", but I feel somehow that morning will be the answer.  I just understand it.

    Thank you

    Terry

  • T510: PXE - E61: Media test failure problem

I have just over one year an owner very satisfied with a T510 (type the code 4313CTO, under XP SP3). However, two days ago, I tried to start as usual and received a startup message that there is a disc read error. After several attempts to solve the problem, I now get PXE - E61: Media test failure. I know that the disc is good, because I can read and write perfectly in another PC. The software on this is good, because the restoration from a recognized reliable backup did not help. Finally, loading the same backup to another HARD drive and try it also did not help. Also, try to start with that second drive via the eSATA port has achieved the same result.

In the BIOS, I tried to not set the controller SATA to 'Compatibility' mode (he had worked in AHCI mode) - no good. I also tried different combinations of the boot order, all to nothing does not. Although it can play CDs, if I try to run the installation of Win XP CD, I end up with the BSoD, directed with the message "a problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

I fear that the damage has already occurred. Is it possible I can run a diagnostic to check if material (i.e. the interface SATA) is screwed in fact?

OK, last update on this problem: and today's lesson, it is that, if you replace a component suspect (in this case, my HARD drive), make sure it is with that which is good (that wasn't). My confusion is aggravated by the fact that I examined it with a USB-SATA interface with a suspect SATA port, via a USB hub low power. Once I got around these questions, by restoring the yet another (certainly known to be good) HARD disk, it worked fine. Reformatting and restoring my original HARD drive also worked well, so I am now back to the status quo ante, i.e. my laptop works fine as before and my happiness . As to why my HARD drive was lost, who knows? Maybe it was too go through an airport x-ray machine.

One thing I get is a test of BACK of PC Doctor utilties bootable CD (downloaded from http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-70443.html) which is really worth having - I recommend it to anyone having problems with a T400 or T500 series.

  • static routing in SMV problem

This problem may seem out of place in this forum, but I think that the problem is specific to XP virtual machines in ESX. The same issue has not been seen in a similar setup running under XP hosted in ESXi.

I invited XP with multiple network cards configured. A NETWORK adapter is connected to a 10.4.0.0 network with a 255.254.0.0 mask, which means it's supposed to handle all the traffic 10.4.X.X and 10.5.X.X. However, I have another NIC that is connected to 10.5.217.0 with a 255.255.255.0 network mask. XP runs without problem. I can access 10.5.217.X traffic to the correct interface and all traffic on the 10.4.X.X traffic and 10.5.X.X on the appropriate interface.

The problem appears when I try to access another network on the 10.5.217.X interface. The other network is 10.5.195.0. I add a static route to 10.5.195.0 to use the address of a default gateway of 10.5.217.1. This does not work because XP has chosen to use the 10.4.0.0 interface, even if I ping the 10.5.217.1 router directly. I try again and this time I specify the interface 10.5.217.X and now I can access the 10.5.195.0 network through the appropriate interface. This will work until the XP guest is restarted. After that, the XP customer returns to use interface 10.4.X.X for the 10.5.195.0 network and who doesn't.

In ESXi, a reboot of the XP client did not cause the routing back to another interface, while I see this behavior in ESX.

First of all, it's a bad network with overlap configuration.

Put good metric for this route, so it would come first in the routing table.

  • Aspire Switch 10 does not light: 10 Windows Installer failure problem or coincidence?

Greetings! I have an Aspire Switch 10 originally running Windows 8.1 32-bit with Bing, which is a little less than a year. I had not used for several months, so in the course of a few days had been the installation updates which have been missed, while it was not in use. Yesterday, the update of Windows 10 presented, I ran the utility, which determines whether the system can be updated and then decides to go, despite some reservations about it based on horror stories that others have shared with me. But I thought that the relatively 'new' OS on it mitigate the risk to some extent. Maybe not so much. I'm not a professional computer, but have done enough hardware and DIY software over the past 20 years that I thought I might give this a go with limited risk, but in hindsight should have been more careful because the operating system is rather an essential component of the computer.

Download was fine, and the installation started and was about 19% when I had to leave unexpectedly for a few hours, so I don't know what happened during this time, or when the installation has stagnated. I went back to a completely black screen and a unit that does not turn on no matter what I try. I spent several hours last night looking and try different ideas on how to at least get it lights up, while I might try some of the other patches. No luck at all.

I thought I had created a recovery file, but I can't find a flash drive with one, if my memory fails me on creating a file of recovery, or lost it. Anyway, since I can't get the unit running, I'm not sure he would do any good if I had one in hand or bought an Acer.

The camera has a little less than 3 weeks left on the hub of the manufacturer and is subsequently under an extended warranty from Costco. However, the extended warranty does not cover problems caused by software or applications, so if it is a problem that was probably caused by the installation of Windows 10, I'm stuck with a brick or will continue to try to fix it myself or find a computer local store who might be able to help without the cost more than what I paid for it originally.

All the advice, assistance, are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Here's an update on my problem. This morning, I had a live chat with a support of Acer person. After a last-ditch effort to revive my machine from me, the conclusion was what I thought: the BONES disappeared. Fortunately, because the model is one that supports Acer for Windows 10 and my machine is still under warranty, the repair (original reinstallation of the operating system) will be covered by the warranty. The downside is that there is no local service center, so it needs to be shipped to Texas.

Needless to say I'm going to stick with the original OS as soon as I get it back.

Well, I tried to change my IP rogers for about a week because I got banned of something... I've heard of this thing called cloning MAC and wanted to try it. I've seen instructions on a Web site. He said that because I have my internet set up as "Modem Router to computer" I should go on my routers home page and change the settings from there. So after going on the site, I saw where it said "Clone MAC'. I got a MAC address, and then I took the card from my router and the Modem for 10 seconds and then plugged it in. There was something wrong! I couldn't use Firefox, Internet explorer and many more things internet related! I could always run liveupdate for my Norton 360, and I could always use Limewire. In addition, the average download speed was about 70 KB per second, when it is usually about 360 KB per second. Then, I connected the Modem directly to my computer without using the router and everything worked. A I mess up something with my router? Do you have my ISP Rogers, cut me? Please please help! I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit. I have 4 GB of RAM. I have Internet Lite from Rogers.
    Thank you.

Unplug your modem to your PC. Plug it back as before, modem to the Internet port on the router and then any port your pc LAN. Accessing the web interface and the mac clone, but he enter manually. When you click clone Mac. my PC it will copy the MAC address of your PC. Now the modem will think that your PC is connected directly to it. Now, see if it works as it should.

  • Not able to connect to new router: WEP / WPA2 problems

    Dear,

I changed my router and when I want to connect to my 8500 has more to the new network, it asks me a WEP password.

However, the new network is WPA2 protected, so the printer does not recognize the password.

The printer does not have the possibility of entering my WPA2 password for the network.

Any suggestions? The network works fine on my phone/macbook.

    Thanks in advance!

Router brand and model number?   Use a fixed wireless channel as the 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto', try all three.  Use 20 Mhz only or 145Mbps router function.   Try now.
