  I just got a pair and I think they sound fantastic. They're a little big when you look at first, and you would think that they wouldn't fit in your ear. If you take them and put the speaker in my ear with the speaker at the bottom of the egg, then turn the bud to the ear canal, they will be fit very well. They are supposed to hold in the vast area outside your channel. It took me a few minutes to understand this.

  I love mine. They work great for me. I use a baseball cap and put my phone in the hat on the top of my head with the wires coming out of the first leg back in my ears. The wires do not get on my clothes like this, and not coming out of my ears. It's always my biggest gripe about the wired headphones.

  Is it possible to use Hey Siri with apple headphones in without maintaining the Center button? I mean all the interest of Hey Siri for me is hands-free but with a helmet on I have to grope for the Center button while work or other places is a nuisance when my hands are in use.

  Make sure "Hey Siri" is enabled, the settings > general > Siri > "Hey Siri" > turn on > Set Up. It should work fine with the EarPods, not need to touch the iPhone.

I use Windows 8.1.  I've recently updated to 8.1 of Windows 8.  I had to call Dell technical support because after the update, many drivers did not work.   After plugging in my speakers, a popup came with a list of devices, and after selecting my audio device, I had sound in the speakers, and then in the atria.  I guess I have to do this each time I want to use external speakers or ear buds.

  You shouldn't have to do each time. If "Speakers" are selected as peripheral default playback in sound properties (pictured below), then audio would come through the laptop speakers and when you plug the headphones or speakers into the Jack and audio should automatically the decision-making. Then when you unplug the audio should automatically switch to the speakers of the laptop.

  

  Try using the native Windows driver for the test, to see if the socket works properly.

  To install the native driver, remove the driver from Realtek. Open Device Manager and expand ' audio, video and game controllers ". Right click on the Realtek, and select uninstall. Put a checkmark in the delete files option and then ok. When you restart, Windows will install its own native driver or another driver Realtek if there were other versions on the hard drive. Then go back to Device Manager and look for a Realtek driver. Keep the uninstall & reboot until Realtek no longer appears under controllers, noise and "High definition Audio Device" appears in its place.

  When you do that, you will use the native driver. If the Jack is working with this driver so the material is correct. Download and install the Realtek driver and test it again. If you still need to click on the popup every time so it's a quirk of this driver.

• BlackBerry Z30 BB strange earbuds

  My new Z30 came with a set of tips that contain a strange semicircular protuberance of the egg that seems to prevent the earpiece to fit in the ear.  I went through the documentation for any sort of explanation for how these are supposed to be inserted.  How it works, you're supposed to somehow fold the semicircular band back on the face of the egg as you insert it into the ear?  I find this very, very strange that BB has developed something different to anything else, but does provide some instructions for its use.

  I went to try it immediately, but I did have to work on the helmet. I tried the earbuds apple supplied as well as bluetooth ones, and it's okay if I choose headphones or headsets & car, nor announce the caller. When I put it on still well, I get it announced in my headphones, but also by the speaker on the phone so that everyone can hear.

  Does anyone have an idea of what I'm missing?

  Exactly the same problem here. I wonder if it is a question of specific hardware? I'm in iOS 10.0.1 (A 14, 403) on an iPhone 6, model MG632LL/A. Maybe it's a bug that Apple needs to address.

• My internal speakers sound terrible?

  I just buy my MacBook Pro (mid-2012) yesterday and something so expensive, my speakers are downright awful. I must admit that my musical knowledge is adequate (to not kill me if I use a little evil) but it feels like there is no bass or treble. They sound just so "hollow" If you know what I mean. When I plug the apple earbuds, they sound a lot and even on my audio computer Dell laptop for £300 sounds good (well, certainly much better than my current experience). Is this a common problem or is it just me?

  Yes I heard there was a problem on some of the new MacBook Pro, you can try pressing ⌘⌥2 (Command-Option-2) and it will bring up the equalizer. When you open go to the side where you see "pre-amp". If it isn't already, click on the box that says on and then turn it to the top. It might be useful it might not.

  Personally, as a musician and a person who appreciates a quality sound, I will return with a headset or headphones that plug in an iPhone or an iPad.

  The sound quality is more real, more accurate.

  Most average price speakers Bluetooth headset/headphones and wireless lose quality in the bass and treble of the higher regions.

  Only the more expensive ($250.00 and upward) Bluetooth headphones/headset wireless and more expensive Bluetooth speaker systems will be the technology that compensates for the loss of bass/treble on a Bluetooth signal.

  Lower prices Bluetooth speakers, headphones / earbuds simply don't have all this bulit technology in them so that they can sell at much lower prices.

  If the budget is concerned, wired headset comes in many points of setting prices, but even some headphones/wired earphone at a lower cost price will be superior in sound quality at cheaper, wireless Bluetooth offers currently on the market.

  My vote is for headphones/wired headset.
