EBS offline restore

Our platform: Oracle eBusiness Suite 12.1.3 (+ Oracle 12 c + RedHat)

As before, our provider, we propose to run a backup offline to the entire folder.

"tar" (location/oracle/ebs) command.

Suppose we are able to restore it. file tar.gz to the orginial location and must be worked...

So, we intend to get a copy of backup and restoration of practice... UAT platform...

1 restore VM "Image-20140829" of VMVeeam

2. then, the level of database and start appl, it is worked.

3 stopped all services

4 deleted/oracle/ebs folder

5 restored 20140905.tar.gz under oracle folder.

6a started layer database (with success)

7. starting appl level (an error...?)

8. Finally, Administration System Lgon Web page still works. All services Manager power are also normally began. It is very good.

9. in addition, we tried to start and stop all services for this error several times, are still out, but all services seem like a normal.

1 offline backup/restore is safe, but does not recover the point of failure. Let's say that you have taken a backup on Sunday and the system crashed at midday on Monday, then everything changed to application/database since the last backup will not be recovered.

2 No, please see that MOS Doc referenced above.

3. What is the error in the restore? The functionality of the application is not fated so possible to ignore this error and you can access the application without any problem.

4. all your questions about the timeout is answered by the same MOS doc.

    Hello

I took the backup of the CBD with RMAN for oracle 12 c. Please let me know how to restore the CDB.

You can use the same commands to restore the entire CBD or DPS depending on your RMAN connection. If you have a full backup of the CBD, it will also inlcude all PDB.

  • System update / installation in a freshly restored z60t 2511-EJG software

    Hello, is Ottorino.

I ' ts good to know that such a forum exists.

I hope to find the answer to a problem that I can't solve.

I worked with my z60, running Debian Lenny and I almost forgot to winXP,

with the exception of some applications that I really need (mostly Nokia PC suite). (The dual boot still worked very well).

A couple of last week, I started XP, for my mobile phone backup and thinkvantage asked me for updates. I let the system to download a lot of patches and updates, but on reboot I got a lot of problems.

I never managed to return to the status of previuos (working!).

I have all my copies of backup (partimage), but nevertheless, I decided to buy the recovery CD set and start from scratch the whole thing.

Therefore, I made the offline restore procedure to return the computer to factory conditions.

Then I removed all of the things that I have no need (symantec, diskeeper lite, games, Messenger).

After the reboot, I installed my antivirus and also launched a thinkvantage system update.

After awhile, the thinkvantage system update responded a bit like 'nothing to upgrade' or more.

I noticed that in Explorer (6.0), there was an icon thinkvantage (Installer): when you press it, a update/upgrade process began, but ultimately failed.

I then googled around and I realized that the Installer software is no longer supported.

While searching on Google, I let XP to download and install Service Pack 3.

After a reboot, update system started by itself, tried to connect and download something (732,52 KB), it keep on downloading up to 42% and once again ended by saying "the sistem need not update/update" or similar.

Then I tried to install a new version of system update (3.14), but before I installed the NET.framework 2.0 such as requested by lenovo, but without any improvement.

Update system connects, start downloading and eventually stop on 42%.

I would like to see as the stuff of thinkvantage functioning again, before installing debian.

Any suggestion to create works of thinkvantage?

    Thank you very much

I installed Ubuntu Intrepid ibex, yetesterday and installation was really child's play.

Only a few adjustments to install the finger drive.

    Fix.

However, the database should not be able to recover some data are there in data files and commissioning normally.

This is my question and my concern. I looked for Metalink and couldn't find anything about it.

I want to start the database with all this that data is present after the backup. All the solutions for such a scenario?

If you took an offline backup, you can recover the database to restore all the files and bring services up (without recovery is needed here).

And, as you mentioned "hot backups can be done with noarchivelog and data will be inconsistent.

    Thank you

  • EBS R12.2.4 db backup and restore

    Hello

I need to make a database backup for security reasons. How I had to do in EBS? with expdp (.dmp) and a restoration with impdp (.dmp)

    or what is the process?

    Thank you.

    Luis.

    Hello

Do not use the import/export for backup and restore. They are generally used to migrate a database to a new server or as an alternative to an upgrade of database.

You must use RMAN after enabling archivelog mode.

It allows you to perform backups hot, cloning of the database and many other things.

If you don't/can't use it, you can make a cold backup of the database files.

    Kind regards

  • EBS with NetBackup backup

    Hi experts

I'm new to EBS, please I need help with this:

I need to back up three servers EBS (Dev, Test, Prod), I ve installed Netbackup on these servers.

But I do not know what files or directories should I back up?

Also I don't know if I should stop the application first?

What information should I give you lets see what configuration I have on these servers?

    DB 11 G 2

    EBS 12.1.3

    Thanks in advance

    JUDGE

He has suggested you stop the application services layer before performing a backup. I can't talk about the latest features of NETBACKUP since I the have not used recently, but what I was doing before taking a backup offline demand full or level nodes then take incremental backups (on a Linux/Unix OS) online. If there are major changes to the application level (patching, upgrades... etc) you should take a full backup before proceeding with a task.

What I would say to validate online apps backup is:

-Run preclone on one of the instances of DEV

-Take an online backup, the nodes of level application (s)

-Make a backup of the database level one or more nodes

-Restore the backup on one or several different nodes or about to different editing on the same server

-Run postclone on the restored files

-Validate your backup by accessing the application/database target

    Thank you

  • Keeping EBS but stop generation of newspapers

    Hello

We are running EBS 11.5.10.2 with DB 10.2.0.4. We have created a clone which is an exact replica of the production. The intention is to update this clone with newspapers in production on a weekly basis, so keep up to date. However, we do not want this clone to generate his own newspapers, and we cannot find a way to stop it, while the system is in place. Does anyone know how to keep the system in, but stop the generation of new logs? Thank you.

    LIA.

Keep in mind that users won't get this copied PROD
The main objective of this copy must be able to make clones without having to take real PROD offline, hence the need to keep it updated with newspapers

It is clear now, and what I mentioned in my previous answer should be useful.

All you need to do is:

-Make a backup of the source PROD/application database
-Restore that backup on the target one or several nodes PROD
-Open the database in montage mode
    -Apply the archivelog files
    -Closing of the database

Now, whenever you need to open this database to run preclone, taking a backup of the database first and then open it and run preclone. Once you are done with preclone, close the database and remove all the data files, and then restore the files you took before opening the database and accompany the steps mentioned above.

Several unsuccessful attempts to get it back, now the phone is in offline mode and says that the history of the site is not available. I left a note on all the doors in the place indicated on the "find my iPhone" describing my phone lost and left a number to call. I am leasing through the iPhone upgrade program. Help, please.

There is no way to locate now, unless the one who found it exerts a force on you contact on this number you posted

The good news is, since you have find my iPhone, they will not be able to reuse the phone even if they are trying to restore. Unless they know your password, or you have a valid proof of purchase AGFI won't be deleted.

So if the person who found the phone knows about it, he or she would rather go back because it would be of no use to them.

  • Restoration of a backup profile emails

I keep all my emails deleted in a folder called 'deleted items '. I use an IMAP server. Somehow, I lost all my emails deleted for the period 01/04/2015 - 17/07/2015. However, I made a backup of my profile TB on 7/2 for most of the emails should be in this backup. How can I get just the emails from the folder "Deleted items" back? I don't want to restore the whole profile, only the emails from this folder. Thanks for your help.

If there is nothing to get in the "Deleted items" folder in your backup, you can use this module to import the file.
    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Thunderbird/addon/ImportExportTools/

Note that this will only work if you have enabled synchronization for this folder in your account settings, so there is an offline copy of all messages on your local disk.

You must restore these messages in a folder in your "Local folders" account first and then download them again to the IMAP server.
